  2. Happy 45th Birthday loozerkbo!

  3. I just saw your album and you look great!!! I was banded in August and my friend was thinking about it but her doc said she was too heavy for the band. Do you mind letting me know what your starting weight was. If too personal I totally understand. But I wanted to get my friend to see another doc and get a 2nd opinion for the band. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!!! Angcal26

  4. Hi Loozerkbo,

My name is Michelle and I was looking at the picture area and saw yours. It looks like you lost quite a bit of weight so far! Congrats!! I just got banded 10/27 this year and want to befriend some other bandsters, especially those that might have had more than the 100 lbs to lose. Hope I am not stepping on toes with that but I am soooo much MORE overweight than most on here that I need to feel there is hope of attaining MY goal. Was wondering if you had extra skin and if insurance pays to have removed? Maybe you didn't. Anyway, I sent you a friend request, hope to talk to you. :)

    Workout order?

Hi, i was just wondering why some say to just do the weights first. My trainer also told me to do the treadmill for 30 min first to warm up, then do the weights and then do the treadmill again for 30 minutes. Then i can go. all of this takes me usually about 1 hour and 15 min or so. Just wondering if i should do cardio one day then weights without cardio on the other day and do them every other day?? what do you think???

    Getting hungry after fill

:hungry: boy am i glad i saw this post! I am so glad that everyone here is feeling what i am feeling! I had my surgery on 11/14/06. i had my first fill in dec. and i can still eat! i do not feel any restriction either. well i cant say i dont feel any, i cannot eat as much as i used to by all means, but i can eat. when i hear people eat so little, i do not. i can eat one pork chop and veggies. i can eat a lot. i eat real slow and i chew a lot and i have no problem getting it down. sometimes i feel a pain if i eat too fast or dont chew enough and then it passes. i am so darn worried about gaining weight. i go see doc today first time in about 6 weeks! i am scared that i did not loose cause i am always hungry. i have no problems eating all three meals. and i am always looking for snacks! so hopefully i can get a "sweet" fill today and feel the tool working! i am just glad i am not alone here! i will let everyone know how my visit with doc went. wish me luck and weight loss!!!!! :clap2:

Not Recommended to have Lap Band???!!!

Hi, I am new to here, banded with the VG band on 11/14/06. I just read your post about Dr. Ortiz telling you your BMI was too high. That is just crazy!!!!:update: I weighed 489 when i first went to the doctors office for the band. My PCP doctor was so happy to hear i wanted to have this done, he reccommended me immediately to my lapband doctor and had me go make an appt. the next day before i could change my mind. My lap band doctor put me on Optifast for two weeks before surgery and I took off 28 pounds in that two weeks. They make you do optifast only two weeks pre-op so that your Liver shrinks and is not in the way for the band to be put in. I believe that this band saved my life. I am loosing great, had my first fill 2cc's and so far in 2 months (i go again this month on the 18th) i lost over 50 pounds. I would have never done that in 6 months no less if i did not have the band. I think that your BMI should definitly not be such a factor if it is so high. I believe I would have died soon had i continued not to have any help in my weight loss. I love Dr. Rhenke and Dr. Grosbard in Florida. On November 14th, 2006 they not only gave me a band, they gave me a new life and a new birthday! Please get another doctor, and keep up your quest. A high BMI is no way to die. Good luck to you and feel free to write me with anything, problems, questions, anything if you just need to talk!! Good luck! Take care!!!!
