Day 12. Am I thin yet?

I wouldn't have even wanted to pay the tax on my parents...so I would give that prize back. My husband, on the other hand.... in a sense I did win him as a prize- I placed the worlds best ad on Yahoo personals and boy did I pull out a plum! I will have to post that ad.... There was a typo in my last post- it should have said "dear crosswind" not deal crosswind. I swear I have some kind of add such that I proof read, everything looks good, and it SO is not...
  2. I actually thought this would be the way to go- more realistic. However my doctor told me we have an 12-18 months window or so of real weight loss before our capacity increases and the hunger comes back so he encouraged me to count carbs and maximize those months. Gave me pause!

Day 12. Am I thin yet?

Click on her username and then look for more of her posts - you will really enjoy them! I for one look for her daiy post now as soon as I wake up. This one really resonated for me- for one thing my headquarters, due to chronic pain, truly is my bed- a bed I, incidentally, won on the radio with a story about my Mom marching topless at the community college I was attending in support of women being allowed to be topless if men were...really. And that feeling you are having deal Crosswind? I believe , along with happiness...that is called HOPE.
  4. Congratulations! Glad you are doing well. Mine will come soon too, can;t wait to join you!

    18.5 pounds lost

Say what? I had to giggle that of all things a scale would appear at work while you were away. Congrats on your progress!

    an appology for all..

I hope you saw that I too apologized for my snappy remark back- your post just hit me wrong when so many people give so much and I had see your problem addressed so thoroughly. Still, I should not have come down on you- we are a support system and that was SO not supportive! Glad you have broken your stall- and you have lots of tips now should you reach another one.

    Day 11. Peptic Anarectic

I guess that depends on whether you want to stay stalled or you want to actually lose weight. ;-P Your plan, though it has a sort of romance to it, will send your body into survival mode sure as shootin' . You need that protein, I am sorry to tell you... to protect your muscles and to start your body using the fat deposits for fuel- and I am quite sure you wan that or you would not have had 85% of your stomach removed! Pssst, by the way, you did have an operation ;-P
  9. I'm waiting for today's thread Ms. Crosswinds and impatiently drumming my fingers....

    Are you a You Tuber?

Do a search for vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Also we all do have links in our sigs and once you find one person you will see lots of suggestions for others and next think you know you are wandering from one to another.
  11. \As is happens, I HAVE a prescription for medical marijuana but it seems to me that , while it ight calm you down a bit, it would also make you HUNGRY....really really HUNGRY.
  12. I can use some couponing instruction...not to be like the wackadoodles I saw on Extreme Couponing- but enough to save some major money. Those people are extreme but they save some major bucks. One of the issues for me is that grocery stores don't do double couponing so much in CA. I think those couponing superstars are not in CA. And Crosswinds dear? Just so you know, not that I want to pressure you or anything, I head to the site after every couple of hundred of weddingphotos I edit looking for a new topic of convo from you....so get cracking!
  13. Go go go! Rock that sleeve!

    Are you a You Tuber?

With an iPhone (thats what I have too) you can click the arrow that allows emailing and it gives you the option of selecting You Tube so you can load it from your phone. You don't even need a computer! It prompts you to log in, name it, tag it, and select the category (ie blog/people) and voila- a few minutes later it is on You Tube.

    Are you a You Tuber?

What kind of phone do you have? I wont be much help because both my iPhone and our Flip video have a way to select You Tube so it is a no brainer. Having created my channel, I just sign in when they prompt and the uploaded video goes to my channel. You have some things to do like giving them a title, tagging them with descriptive words, etc. It really is easy! Hopefully someone will chime in with info for you if yours is not an iPhone. I am really having pfun doing videos and also enjoying all the vlogs of others.
  16. Tuesday I got an email from my doctor, in response to mine saying all my requirements were complete and I was ready to start my pre-op two week liquid diet with a word from him- and all it said was "Start you liquids". I called his nurse and she said since she was submitting to insurance and my insurance usually approves pretty fast that yes, I should start my liquids. My sons birthday is today so we moved his dinner to yesterday- my husband brought me a box with all my favorite See's candy, and my son brought the most humongo bag of movie popcorn covered in butter home from the theater where he works. A friend took us to Outback and I had the biggest prime rib with all the works- then my husband and I stayed up late eating popcorn and candy. It was so sudden, I didn't even get to think about things! Aside from the food hangover I woke up with I woke excited and ready, really ready to start this journey. So ....the nurse calls to ask me if I have questions and confirm everything was sent yesterday. I mention to her that , for our wedding schedule as photographers I need to know I can have the surgery by the 20th or else I can't have it until after May 7th. She says "Oh- there are not dates available during April at the hospital" WTF? HUH? Then why did they tell me to start my two weeks of liquids? She apologizes because she had not checked with the scheduler when she told me to start liquids. (would she have bothered to tell me?) She transfers me and I do get a date, a real date, my date- May 9th at 7:30 at the hospital where I most wanted it to be. But I feel like the rug was pulled out from under me and thrilled as I am...and knowing it is only 19 days later than I thought...I am down today. Oh well, I only ate about a tenth of that giant bag o' popcorn last night so tonight we'll watch some movies and munch and cuddle to get over it. SIGH. It kind of decimates my I Have a Date post...
  17. I am now actually glad it worked out this way- it was so sudden to be on liquids without planning for it. I also can work out for a few weeks longer trying to tone my abs and my arms! We can be of great support to each other and all the May sleevers!

    Calcium confusion

As mentioned above, the magnesium citrate is to purge your body , completely clean it out! Not the same at all, My doctor does not require liquid calcium citrate so I will either have the calcium chews or lozenges.

    12 hours before surgery!

I think something happened and the surgery did not happen. Not sure why exactly.
  22. Ii would back off and follow what your doctor said to do. For all the reasons mentioned- a little vigilance now for a healthy life with a healed whole stomach is not too much to do...

    HCG diet?

I was getting the shots 35 years ago!
  24. According to my doctor- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of CA are the best so hopefully that will be true for you! I do know some employers exclude it (dumb!) Good lucks!
