I take them with a hot drink. I don't crush them even though I was supposed to right after surgery.

I wouldn't even consider it an "extra" fill. We all need different amounts of fills to get to a good place. I made an appointment this morning for fill #3. Your doctor should be fine with it because I'm sure he realizes that the "right" amount is different for everyone.

What do you eat each day?
Rachel412 replied to Wheeler5051's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really is different for everyone. Lots of people have problems with bread, or chicken, but others don't... too bad we can't all find out what our trouble foods will be before we get banded, huh? -
Best for Pre-Op weight loss?
Rachel412 replied to servicegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liquid diet. Same as the pre-op diet many have to do to shrink their livers. Good luck! -
You did just the right thing. Most people don't feel a good level of "restriction" until 3-4 fills. It's a process that involves much fine-tuning.

GAS X STRIP? PILL?
Rachel412 replied to WinningLoser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, the Gas-X won't help with the gas they use for surgery, but it WILL help with the gas you'll have much more of in your digestive tract than you used to. -
two weeks for me. enjoy it while you can!

Rachel412 replied to WinningLoser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it's a strip you place on your tongue and it dissolves. -
Dont know if I should go back n remove fluid
Rachel412 replied to rhya2k's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No problem? But you said you got stuck and vomited 3 times. Am I missing something here? Anyway I'd wait and see if the swelling goes down. I always feel tighter the first few days after a fill but then the swelling goes down. HTH! -

Can the band not work for people?
Rachel412 replied to gencs2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, you can eat too much good food and not lose weight. Also, it seems doctors don't really know exactly how the band keeps you from feeling hungry, so I'd imagine there's a possibility it might not work for some people. But remember, even with the band at your perfect spot, you're the one controlling what you put in your mouth, and it's never going to stop you from eating the "wrong" thing. http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html -
So this is Bandster Hell?????
Rachel412 replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mmmhmm bandster hell. Most people take 3 or 4 fills to get in their sweet spot. I'd call to see if they'll let you come in sooner- my doctor allows fills every 2 weeks. -
Tell you what. Put away your scale right now. Take it out again when you're two weeks past surgery. You'll be thrilled at how much you've lost.

No restriction after surgery?
Rachel412 replied to MelissaWI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. Probably until you get 2 or 3 fills actually. -
If the pain is really bad, call the doctor to make sure you're not developing pneumonia.

Is this normal after surgery?
Rachel412 replied to dmg223's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The shoulder pain and sleeping issues are normal. I don't think the wooziness/passing out is normal. I'd call your doctor and see what they say. -
Yes, it does sound like you need a fill. The band will never stop you from over-eating, but if it's filled to the right level it'll help you to feel full or satisfied on a small meal, and stay that way 4-5 hours. Getting more Protein... you can get the fruit drink flavors, or the "unflavored" one and mix it in to other drinks or other things your'e eating.

Sure, people have done that, though I doubt most of them post here anymore

4 hr road trip 2 days after surgery
Rachel412 replied to nurse535's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Besides the driving, what will you be doing on your trip? 2 days after surgery, I was mostly sleeping. You won't be driving, will you?
