    Fiber?

I do... Fiber Choice sugar-free chewables, I take 2 of them twice a day. Can't really comment on avoiding excess gas since I've just learned to live with it and hope nobody notices

    McD's breakfast.. am I stuck?

Sometimes I have this feeling like... I don't know, like a tiny bit of my food is still sitting where my band is and it's just annoying more than anything else. I'd say to have a hot drink and see if it washes it down.

    Rachel412...

You're welcome! The Dr. Simpson one I read a couple of months ago (people post it a lot) and it made so much sense to me that I figured it'd be better in my sig. The second one was a newsletter article from the lady who wrote Bandwagon, and I wrote to her and asked t to put it on her blog so I could link to it, because I thought it was really helpful too. I'm glad it's also helping others!

    in the decision phase

Just make sure you do your research before you get the surgery! Read the link in my sig- the band isn't a miracle cure, and we still pretty much have to follow a diet and exercise in order to see results. Some doctors apparently don't make this clear to their patients, which makes me so sad!
  6. today I need to fess up to my nutritionist that I've been drinking coffee. #firstworldproblems

    Flying Tomorrow....

I'm scared of flying but at least now I know that since I'm smaller than I was, I *must* fit into the seats better than I used to. Good luck on the plane!
  8. I think the problem here is you've been misinformed about how the band works, and what it's supposed to do for you. When you swallow a bite of food, it passes through your band and into the larger portion of your stomach in under a minute. So the band really isn't going to stop you from eating a whole steak. It sounds like you keep trying to get tighter and tighter, thinking that'll keep you from overeating? If you read the first link in my sig (and the second too if you have time) I think it might shed some light on your current problem.

    Lap Band and Divorce

Awkward indeed. I never knew that abortions felt good. I'm learning so much today!

    Too Full and Obsessing

I'm sorry! It's really uncomfortable, isn't it? Walk around, stretch, raise your arms up over your head and lean back. It may help you feel better.
  11. You may not want to get an unfill, but you NEED to. You're too tight. You're resorting to high calorie liquids instead of getting your nutrition from solid foods. You've been like this for 2 months? Being too tight puts you at greater risk for band slippage and erosion. You don't need advice for food to eat-- you need to get an unfill! Really, truly.

    Hippa question

My understanding is he can't say anything about seeing you at the hospital until you give him permission to do so.

    Feeling Discouraged

I'd say go back and have .25cc put back in Bands are so finicky!
  14. Hiya! Your hair is so pretty <3 I do exercise, though not a super ton... probably in the gym 3 times a week (elliptical or water aerobics) and then I walk a mile or so with my kids once or twice a week. I've been trying hard to stick to the food rules but I do "cheat"- had an ice cream sandwich yesterday! ;)

    Does anyone do protein bars?

I got a couple of free samples of Quest bars in the mail and I really liked them. They're low carb, 20g of Protein, no sugar or sugar alcohols, and around 170-210 calories each. http://www.questproteinbar.com/ They did keep me satisfied for a long time.
  16. today is my 3 month surgiversary! I'm down 35 since surgery, for a total of 46... not bad at all!!

  17. Well, I think only you can decide when you're ready to look into a different surgery. The weight does come off faster with a VSG, or a bypass, or the other types of surgery. However, there are downsides to those as well... there's still no perfect weight loss surgery. Just giving you some support. I'm sorry you're so frustrated.

    port hurting more

It sounds like you're doing great! I recently started having more port pain and I was worried, so I mentioned it when I went in for my fill. The PA poked around for a while and told me that since I've lost abdominal fat, my port is still anchored in place BUT now it's really close to my ribs (the fat cushion in-between is smaller) so it's getting banged and pushed into. Perhaps the same is true for you, but I'd definitely keep a close eye on it!

    SLIPPED POUCH??? OH NO!!!

Are you asking if your band slipped? I highly highly doubt it. Why do you think it slipped, because you felt full quickly?
  20. Wow, thank you so much for sharing the pictures of your wandering port. It was amazing to see how much it stuck out, AND to see how good your stomach looks after losing 100 pounds I hope you're thrilled with the new port!
  21. Wow. It's good you were honest, but it's hard for me to see the point for the reschedule, since my doctor doesn't make us do any sort of liquid diet pre-op. Seems like an over-reaction...
  22. It's all normal! I sill burp more than I did pre-band. I do pay attention when I'm swallowing, but somehow, the air still gets in.
