I have pcos also, but for past 5 or 6 yrs surprisingly i started having normal cycle every month after going about 10 yrs with maybe twice a yr periods. Imma wait it out because next month we are moving to california and i dont wanna bog my time down with dr visits (other than my fills ) lol before I leave. I know I have become anemic and my physician told me I need to take an Iron supplement. I been dragging about it because I have to search for a liquid form and if it aint at walmart lol I tend to drag about doing it. But I need to stop that before I hurt myself, I am going first thing in the morning to cvs and see what I can find.

I did my banding in July of this year but unfortunately I had to travel to Valdosta to have it done and my fills are done in atl. There was once a dr here under tricare but thats a looonnggg story lol. you will be referred to albany most likely. For myself personally i had to see a dietician, psychiastrist and cardiologist. I would suggest going to your pcm and go ahead and put in refferals for the dietician and the pysch or else u will be goi.g back and forth. I was fortunate to get in at martin for the dietician but the wait was a month long and active duty have priority, thats why its good to go ahead and knock it out. The psych eval was put in and done within a weeks time. Feel free to hit me up anytime and I will help ya out. I love my band and would recommend it to anyone. We are leaving in December lol so I can at least help ya get ur feet wet. U can get surgery done in as little as 3 months from time of seminar. It can be frustatrating, especially after reading all the great stories of weight loss. But dont give up hope, your body is healing and everyone lose weight at different rates. I was so frustrated to find out after the surgery that my doc put nothing in my band and he wanted me to heal at least 6 weeks before my first fill..then i finally get first fill and it was only a freaking 1cc fill, i feel no restrictions and my weight loss has come to a near halt..loss 2lbs in a months time..so i go back monday and hopefully he will get me up to atleast 3cc so I can actually feel like I have a band on lol. But I am still determined and have great expectations that things will come about in next few months..I went many years with this weight and trying not to be too antsy about the reults being an overnight feat lol. I have the same problem but only have had 1 fill. I have 1cc in my band and I am more hungry than ever. My weight loss has stopped so not sure what to do. I know if I ask for a bigger fill , my dr will deny it and give me some line about taking it slow. I didnt go through the pain and agony to not be in control over my weight loss. I hate sitting at this stand still. I have a goal for Christmas and at this rate..Im not going to make it. I just wanna be under 200 by Christmas and I am stuck at 236. Not sure when my next fill is, Im thinking first week in sept, but still frustrating. I am trying to eat right, when I feel the urge to snack, I pick low fat Snacks to curb the hunger.(even though I need to fight the urge to not snack). You not alone, we in the same boat and eventually we will make it to the sweet spot. I am trying to stay positive and you should too. Have you spoken to your Dr about whats going on? Ann

Had first fill on wed, was starving when I left the doctors office but stuck to the liquid diet. They put only 1cc in my band...now I am still getting hungry and I feel no restrictions at all.. I feel like this month is going to be a failure in my weight loss. Why so little, I thought the idea is to restrict my intake, but if he is only doing 1cc at a time, its going to be forever before I feel the restriction and see weight loss again. I am beginning to think its a money game. Having to keep returning for little increments to find the green zone..I can understand maybe 2cc for first fill and building it up in small increments..So far I have been good at restricting my meals, eating small meals with my main meal at lunchtime so I can work it off...but I dont know how long that will last before my tummy goes into overdrive for food. Especially with Labor day around the corner,,,BBQQQQQQ..omg how can I control myself with no limits? Ann

my first fill was only 1cc and i left the office starving..this was yesterday..i am on day 2..i can have regualr Soup tonight and I cant wait..i am totally starving..but i wanna lose the weight so i am sticking to the outline. I dont feel any restrictions..but with 1 cc not sure if i will..he says he wants to take it slow..in the meantime I am scared i will over eat....but you did the right thing...this support grp is great..its good to know others going thru the same things.. Same thing happen to me last week, I knewwhat was going on immediately when it happened lol.. I ate too fast and didnt chew the food like I was suppose to and it got stuck omg then i took a drink of Water to "push it down" and it did the opposite..omg..I will never do that again..I swear..I was driving when it hit , so i had nowhere to run but all over my shirt lol talk about embarrasment. I felt the same way...went 2 days no appetite then when I got hungry..wooah..i got really hungry to where it was hurting.. when I talked to the nurse, she told me that my tummy was like a baby's tummy..that I would be getting hungry every few hours..even in the middle of the night(that sucked), this lasted for about 2 weeks before it subsided to normal eating pattern. It may not last that long for you, but thats how mine went. Ann

Not sure if topic fits my problem. I had surgery July 6th, no fills yet, I have lost over 15lbs now and that was 2 weeks after surgery..not sure where I am now, trying to wait to my first fill to weigh again. My mind is having a hard time accepting the weight loss. My clothes and the scale tells me I am losing weight, but when I look in the mirror, I still see the rolls and the old me. I know I dont have mental issues lol because I was happy full figured woman, but because looking in the mirror and still seeing myself with the rolls, makes it hard to accept that I have actually lost weight. I know it may sound confusing, but for some reason for me , the reality of the weight loss will set in when I can see it for myself. I have been large for so many years, I forgot what the old me look like or maybe over excited to see what the new me will look like. If anyone can understand where I am coming from, please give me some good advice. Ann

For myself and maybe for others, I seem to retain Water during my cycle. After its over I go back to my original weight. I know there are meds to relieve the bloating, but its only a temporary thing, so try not to panic when you see a lil weight gain at that time. Ann

I did the same thing...I only told 1 family member and thats because 1. My family is messy, they spent many years talking about my weight gain, so I felt they needed no part in my weight loss..I live in a different state from them, so next time they see me, I will be a new me and they can kiss my new booty lol..and @. I told the one family member because I felt if something did happen, I really wanted someone back home to know the facts. So far, no fill yet, had surgery on July 5th and I am still amazed I have lost weight without being filled, looking foward to the fill, no date yet but I am figuring probably be mid aug when I get it. So dont feel bad your family doesnt know just watch the amazment in their faces when they see the new you. I am going home in October, I wont be at my goal but I know there will be enough weight loss for them to drop their jaws lol. Ann

i am having same problem, trying to come up with a name..lol..i am thinking of calling him Bandy..lol..my new best friend.

I had my banding on the 5th of July and now I am hungry every 4 hrs. And the hunger pains are horrible..I have to eat like right now or else it gets worse...the hunger pains wake me out my sleep. Is this normal..does it eventually go away? Also having bad back pains, docrtor says its gas, but the pain is so unbearable at times. One last thing is i keep having indigestion..but im thinking they are more like spasms...anyone have this problem? Ann

well i found out it was because I had major surgery in my rt abdomen causing scarring in my abdomen region, so that area was off limits. He says he also does it in upper chest for patients with a lot of belly fat. I still dont like it there..al i can think of is that there is no cusion there lol.

i was already on acid reflux mes..so i just picked back up on them..but the pains are so excrutiating..makes me jump out of my sleep and i think the indigestion feeling may just be gas trying to come out. ann

First chance I had to sit down and tell my story. My surgery was July 6th 2011. I reported in at 10am , they were running behind so I did not get to the back til about 11 and my surgery happened about 130pm. My recovery was not that great. I did go home the same day because my husband had to be to work the next day and were 2 !/2 hr s from home. I was in so much pain. My back on the ride home was the most trouble. Had not gas issues becuase he didnt inflate my intestines but my back..omg..we stopped every 30 min for me to get out. It was like it was on fire. I got home..took my pain meds and crashed..having to wake every hr just to walk around because of my back. Day 2 was a lil better..back still giving me most traoubles but slept most of the day and walked every hour. Im on day 3 and took the band aides off the surgery sites..doesnt look too bad. I spent all surgery day regretting my decision but now I am happy with it. I finally got my appetite back. but unfortunately it hit 2am lol so i had to get up and get some broth to sooth the hunger beast. About every 4 hrs I get hungry. Back still giving me issues but its getting better. My port was placed in my upper left chest instead of my tummy, so it has given me no issues at all..only feel pain when i touch it. So i think that was a smart idea, hated the though of it being in my belly and moving every time it jiggled. I am looking foward to the weight loss..i dont have a scale in my home just yet, hated to look at the numbers everytime i stepped on it..but i will get on this coming week to keep up with progress. Had my surgery yesterday and was released that evening..but the dirve home was horrible..my back was so sore from the 2 1/2 hr drive..i will give more details in the morning..had rough time trying to find confortable position to sleep Ann

Today is my surgery. I think I am on the bandsters list as it being yesterday, but that was my preop day, I was told when I went to pre op that I am being admitted as an inpatient for my surgery but I may be able to go home this evening. I am praying I go home this evening, we are 2 !/2 hours from home and already homesick lol. I am having hernia removed along with lapband. So many emotions right now, including the dreaded negative ones. But I refuse to let the negative emotions get the best of me. This is my last official posting on this side of the banding line and I will see you guys on the other side. Ann

I wish you luck, do you have anything else that can fray the cost, like a hernia? My dr put in to tricare and i was approved same day. I am with tricare south and i heard they are pretty good at doing the approvals. Ann

You have absolutely no reason to feel guilty at all...just like others I was not put on a diet at all..Had my preop today and the anastesiologist(spelling) told me to go home and have a good meal and he will see me in the morning...I was like..wth! I can eat! really..he started laughinhg and said yeah..I just knew I would be put on a liquid diet for the day before surgery, so my big dinner was freaking burger king lol..we traveled 2 1/2 hrs so dont know the area and that was the only thing across from the hotel ..lol. I am so nervous and excited at same time. They did tell me that I was being registered as an inpatient. So I may not get to go home tomorrow..but thats ok..a full night of the IV drugs and being pampered lol. I wish you luck and I am so stoked for you. Ann

welcome to the board..thought I say Hi since I was born and raised in Jax..I do frequent the area since thats where my family is. I will be banded on wed, so excited..have you gotten a date yet or you in the beginning stages?

reading all the posts are so inspirational..I am still waiting but july 6th is right around the corner so I am so so stoked, as I ready all the success stories it makes me wanna go camp out in front of the surgery center until my day comes lol..good job on all the hard work and I will be joining you soon. I am on my pre op diet, my surgery is Wed Jul 6th. My problem is, I have not lost the weight that he asked me to, nor do I think it will be down by time I do my pre op Tue Jul 5th. Anyone else have trouble losing those stubborn pounds. Its the 4th of July weekend...so you know what that mean..sticking to the diet will be very very hard, but the good side is..grilled food is low fat lol. But I am going to be trying to fight it, even though I have to help with the cooking. Any suggestions and do anyone have any good ideas of what can be consumed during the liquid diet afterwards?
