laylasmojo replied to vicki s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was drinking tomato juice with hot sauce and worchesterchire in it kinda like a virgin blody marie on my second week and my stomach had absolutely no problem with it. As for the BM I think it took like a week ad a half for that to happen. Good luck -
How many surgery scars do you have?
laylasmojo replied to M2G's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have two, he was suposed to do single insion but my liver was to big so I have a 2 1/2 - 3 in one inside my belly button and one 1/4 in one at the bottom of my rib cage. But honistly on the smaller one the bandaud iritation loos worse then the cut in like a month you wont even be abel to see it. Now the streach marks are a totaly different story!!! but I have no plans on sporting a bikini anyway but I think it made recovery easier to only have the one real insion -
Congrats!! That was quick!

laylasmojo replied to sasha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad everything went well for you! I agree with you it really is not as bad as I thought it would be I had surgery on Oct 21st and I am also a stomach sleeper and was on my stomack 3 nights later. -
So I am still pre op and on the 10 day liver reduction diet wanting everything I see all though I dont eat it I do have these super vivid dreams about food , The first one was about me eating all these foods that I am not suposed to and I kept telling people that but they kept handing me food then last night I had a dream taht I went to a fine dinning restaurant with the family of my childhood ex best friend and the server just kepts bring the most delicious lobster, king crab legs, rich chocolate desseryts and various other scrumptious goodies. I just kept eating and it was great cuz I never got the uncomfortable super full feeling, then I work up and was thankfully not super hungry, I wonder if this is my bodys way of giving me what I want with out letting me have what I want??? So has anyone else had these kind of dreams ? and What was your dream food if you remember?

So I have never noticed before how many heavy people are really out there untill I started this journey. Now when I am out and about I look at heavier people and there is this string in my heart that gets pulled. I feel so blessed to have this opertunity to have this surgery done, but I know that not everyone has this option due to finances or even just lack of knowledge. I see them in pain as they are walking , or even just tthe depression in there face, and all I can think of is how benificial this surgery would be for them. I have brought up the topic with some of the heavire people that I would with ( not trying to push it on them, but about what I am doing) and I have had quite a few people ask me for the number to my dr which i gladly tell them and give them all the infor they would need to get started. But clearly I cant just waslk up to some strainger and sugest that they go and have wls no matter how benificail it would be for them. I really just wish there was more advertising out there about there options or even like more grants to become healthy for the people who can not afford it. Well just wanted to get that out, not sure if it make any sence but thakss for reading!

What is WRONG with me!
laylasmojo replied to hopeandfaith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely... the way that I managed to make it work for me was I would follow the 1200 cal low carb high protein diet that my nut gave me but about once a week usually on my days off I would go and get one of my favorite foods and then go right back to the GOOD fod you foods the next day and now that I am 4 days away from my date I really have no craving for the food that I once ate all the time. It also helps that I keep reminding me that this is not a perminate separation I will be abel to eat these foods once again when I hit my goal just in smaller portions. Good Luck I am sure you will find your own way to get under control just try to keep your goal in mind! -
I totaly agree try to get your PCP to do a thyroid check it really can mess with your weight loss . Good Luck

Mother Is Helping During Post-Op Period
laylasmojo replied to DallasSmile's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have not had my surgery yet (five more days yea!!) but I had originaly planed on doing this on my own ( I am also single with no children) but the second my mother found out I was having surgery she said she was comming out (it must be a mother thing they cant help but take care of their children) I kinda had mixed emotions about this because I am a very indepent person not very good at asking for help plus I was not sure how well I would handel her eating infront if me but most of all I feel bad because I am not going to be any fun, I live in Vegas and any time I have some one come out I try to show them a good time. But then I realized tat it really will be nice to have some help around the house, then I figured that I may as well get used to having people eat around me and having food around me when I cant eat since I work in a kitchen, as for keeping her entertaind I recently bought a houe and she really seams to want to do yeard work and painting so if that is what is going to keep her happy then she can have at it plus I did get some tickets to some shows hopefully I will have enough energy to sit throught them. Good luck with your surgery -
