are you sure that was not the by pass percentage. Because this is a rather safe surgery that is wjy it was used in the first step in the DS. Really you shouod not worry as long as you have a good surgen and follow there program you should be fine.

totaly frustrating NSV
laylasmojo replied to laylasmojo's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I dont know what that feels like but I can't wait to find out!! -
So I got dressed this mourning not realling paying attention to my underware just grabing any pair I found (That were clean). Then as I am waling around work thay keep falling down they just will not stay up, I wear baggy chef pants at work so my pants are not helping to keep them up at all and the pants have a low crotch so the underware are like hanging around my theighs, rather frustrating but kinda funny at the same time but I just have to look at the bright side that something that fit just fine the last time I wore them are falling off now, I am just happy it is not my pants at least I can hide this.Guess it is time to go shopping, Darn. I know kinda weird thing to talk about but I just had to tell some one and I clearly cant tell my employees I think they weould look at me like I had two heads.

AMOUNT OF FOOD I CAN EAT AT ANY GIVEN TIME VARIES.....ANYONE?
laylasmojo replied to MissPrissBecky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say that this is toatly normal. It could be how fast your eating how well you chew or the density of the particular food you are eating. -

I use myfitnesspal.com It is really easy to use, you can set your goals and it allready has so many foods in the system and if it is not there you can add them. I track Cal protien fat and carbs. Good luck with your pre op and your post op you are doing the right thing trying to prepare as much as you can pre op I am sure you will do just great with your loss. -

WHAT IS BOWEL PREP???
laylasmojo replied to MS LISA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to drink 2 bottles of the magnesium citrate the day before and then only clears untill midnight. But iif your doc has ot told you to do one then dont worry about it, but if he does wind up saying you have to do it just be prepared to stay at home all day and not wonder off to far from the bathroom. -
Congrats on passing your tests and good luck with your surgery

Weighing after surgery
laylasmojo replied to kgremmy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my Dr weighs me everytime I come in and I see him at one week one month then every three months. But I go by the eight I have at home since it is at the same time every time and I can be in my b-day suit no cloths adding extra weight. I weigh every day just because I find it interesting the corilation to what I did/ ate the day before to the amount lost or gained, but I only track on Wednesdays. But some people just cant handle the every day weigh in it drives them crazy. for me not knowing would drive me crazy. -
I'm home less than 24 hrs and hungry
laylasmojo replied to vicki s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on getting your surgery done and ovre with! As for the 8 pounds it is simply all the IV fluids that tthey pump into you from the time you enter the hospital to the time you leave, and dont worry that will come off quick plus lots more! As for the hunger could it be acid? Did they put you on an acid reducer yet? The pain in your right side is prolly from the gas I had a pain right under my right rib cage for days after surgrey but it dooes go away . Just try to do alot of walking. Although if you are really concerned with it call your dr they will know best. Good luck and keep us updated -
11 days post op . . . when can I eat/drink comfortably???
laylasmojo replied to misspatrice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the 20 lb loss so quickly you will be at goal in no time!I was not aloud to eat mushy foods until day 15 and it was slow going at that my first meal was cottae cheese and I was only able to get in 2 oz before I got that "unconfortable feeling" But it does get better every day, I can now eat my 4 oz of pureed protien with very little trouble, and if it is really soft like greek yogurt or refried beans there is no trouble at all. I no longer have to take tiny sips I can take pretty much normal person sips just not able to guzzle drinks. Oh and I am on day 18 I had surgery on Oct 21st. So just try to have some thing to drink with you at all times yesterday was the first day I was able to actually get all 64 oz of fluids in and I had a bottle of water conected to me ALL DAY LONG , that is when I was not eating. Good luck to you -
Thats just awsome, Congrats!

What are the steps toward Surgery
laylasmojo replied to ldturner's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance/DR required 5 EAP sessions, Phych eval, nut apt, Upper GI, blood work, h. pylori test, two tobaco tests, and the seminar. The dr some times also requires an apt with the cardiologist and the pulminologist fr the heavier patients. I went to my seminar in july and had surgery Oct 21st I could have gone sooner but I had to come up withthe rest of them money. -
