pasquini replied to Carolyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sry your having to deal with this. I have been stalled for two weeks. Twice I thought it was broken only to see the scale go BACK UP!!! Soo frustrating. -
Here is how I made it 2 tbs soy sauce 2 tsp honey 1tsp miso (if u can't get real miso u can get a powdered soup version that will work just use more) 1 tsp Wasabi powder (could have used more) 1/2 tsp rice vinegar 1" cube of fresh Ginger minced finely All ingredients mixed in a bowl And then pour over 4oz salmon filet left for 1 hr. Them salmon moved to baking pan two tbs of marinade poured over salmon and backed 10 min at 425 it was fantastic. Next time more wasabi. :-)

3 weeks out and miserable
pasquini replied to Eddie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't tell you this per a VA Dr. When you have any gastro intestinal surgery and swalloing issues. The thinner the liquid rhe harder to drink. Water being the absolute hardest. Counter-intuitive were her words. Advice? She say try drinks that are low acid and more like low cal Gatorade, vitamin water, even apple juice -
Yeah, I did the full version still can attach through the iPhone. Oh well. I posted in the gallery and once my computer is back up I will be able to post them in a message. :-)

Thx for the encouragement. Yeah, I know I can't be gaining weight, lol. Heck I am still Struggling to get anything in. I think that's part if ut I am not getting enough fluid in fir my body to let go of it. But I know it will there. :-)

Well after losing 36 lbs in like 17 days my body seems to have said "stop the craziness!!!" lol. Monday I was 36 lbs down tuesday I was up a lb wed up another, And this morning back down to 36lbs lost. So I know it will pass, but wow did I get spoiled losing so much so fast lol! So things that I figure are factors. I am not getting anywhere near enough fluids and protien in. Though thelast two days I have gotten in about 40 grs protien and 60 oz liquid. I am considering attaching a garden drip system to a hat so it can drip water in my mouth all day. Lol. That would be a site to see. :-) I also have had really high salt content this week, I have been having a can of potted meat for lunch, 3 oz 15 gr protein but rhe salt content is really high soni suspect that is part of it. Anyway I was glad to see the scale go down today, hopefully it will Continue that direction

You know the interesting thing here is as a male, I see it sooo differant. I wouldn't have gone to lunch with a women that tried that approach with me, but I would LOVE IT! Lol. I would not feel at all uncomfortable, and it would probably make me walk even taller. :-) heck yeah! Of course I want to be sen for me inside but heck the first time some woman does a double take or hits in me like that I am celebrating!!! :-). Take it for what it is. Your looking good and men see it, grin, laugh, enjoying feeling desirable and enjoy the new you! -

new to this site and wanting to meet friends for support
pasquini replied to italianlady13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
In the plication non of te stomach is removed, in the standard sleeve 85 percent of stomach is resected (removed) there are some emitted to it. "grehlin" tge hirmon responsible for hunger signals to the brain are secreted in the portion of stomach that is removed. There by in theory removing the hunger mechanism. I am only 2 weeks out from a sleeve an there is no hunger. However the theory is also that pressure against the stomach lining stop secretion, so tge pressure of being folded and sutured keep production at a low. -

Gastric sleeve and sleeve plication are two differant surgeries. In the sleeve 85 percent of the somach is removed creating a sleeve. In the plication the stomach is folded in on itself and sutured in that position to creat the sleeve. There are pros and cons to both -
Welcome insideout: Good for you and making a hard choice to take control of your life and move to a healthy happier place. There will always be people that think this or that, but really who freakin cares!? They don't gave to live in your skin! Ignore their ignorance and enjoy becoming a healthier version of you! I so get the food thing. When I was preparing for mine (may 10th in Mexico as well) I began to notice how much I turned to food, it really was eye opening. Since surgery (and the one week preop diet) I am down 36 lbs!!! 3 pant sizes and a shirt size! Best thing I have ever some for myself! It is not an easy road, but heck I wish it was, and if it were or even is sometimes, thank God there is enough hard things in life to face! Stay focused, look forward to the thin you finally being seen!

If you had surgery in Mexico, how did you handle your follow-up?
pasquini replied to SandSandles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There's follow up? Seriously, I am only 2 weeks out and don't have any particular plans for follow up care. If I have an issue then I'll deal with it. But as for now I am not planning any follow up. I even removed my own stitches -
