For those of you worried about hair loss, or you have thin hair right now
kooterpooters posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I have been hearing promising things about castor oil for hair regrowth and to prevent hair loss.If you look up castor oil for hair loss on you tube you will see alot of videos about the thickening and growth results of just using 100 percent cold pressed castor oil on the scalp 2 times a week.I ordered some cold pressed castor oil from a vitamin store on the web Im gonna start using it now and if it works I will continue to use it.It also is suppose to work for growing eye lashes longer and thicker..I will let you know the results as I go along. Here are the directions for use 1.Put your castor oil in an applicator bottle that you can get at a beauty supply store,(you can use half castor and half coconut or grapseed oil to dilute.Or just plain castor. 2.APPLY small amount to scalp in thin areas or areas you need growth and massage in with your fingertips. 3.Wrap with towel, turby twist,or plastic cap and sleep overnight and wash your hair as normal in the morning..Only do this 2 times a week because castor oil is very thick and sticky. 4.You also can leave on head about an hour then rinse but overnight gets better results. YOur suppose to see visible results in 6 weeks you should see new growth and thicker growth. 5.For eyeslashes apply castor oil to qtip and apply thin coat over eyelashes at root. they say you see results with your eyelashes in less than 3 weeks. I havent done this yet, but as soon as my oil comes in im gonna try I have heard really good reviews. They say middle eastern use castor oil on their scalp religiously and their hair is always so thick and beautiful. WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED>Hopefully I will grow enough hair so incase surgery causes loss Ill have some backup hair.LOL:thumbup1: -

BCBS Federal denied pre approval
kooterpooters replied to nouveau-debut's topic in Insurance & Financing
Just dont give up everybody.I know here in wv..Federal bcbs just started approving about a month ago,so hopefully most others are too.Appeal and do what you can or maybe it may be really soon your company will start approving.I think these insurance companies are starting to realize all the complications with the lap-band and bypass etc are costing them way more money than if they just would start approving the sleeve.SO keeping fingers crossed and saying prayers for all who need this surgery that the insurances keep on approving.. -
I live in Beckley Wv about 30 min from Charleston..Still in my 6 month Phase.January will be my last appointment.Just keeping my fingers crossed my insurance will cover the sleeve by then. The pre cert lady at my Drs office said she is willing to be bet its just around the corner..I sure hope so..Congrats to you and good luck with the rest of your journey.

Is Medicare really covering VSG? or not?
kooterpooters replied to valleyfree's topic in Insurance & Financing
On the OH board there is someone who said they were told that Medicare covers sleeve now and they talked to the insurance adjuster last week and they were waiting to confirm it or something. So maybe they are.It would be great if they were. -

-
What part of WV are you from?Im wanting to get the sleeve too..Right now my Mountains State BCBS doesnt approve but they are saying that most BCBS should be approving by the First of the year and thats when my 6 months will be up..So fingers crossed for both of us..Have you called your Insurance yet and asked them?
-
My husbands cousin had her sleeved approved through Federal BCbS last year.I think her doctor was Dr.Strickler in Charleston wv.I will ask her and make sure and get back to you on that but she works for the Board of Education so im sure its BCBS federal..

kooterpooters posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well I got a consult with the doctor for July 20th.I will have to have the 6 months of documented weight loss, dietician etc, but Im gonna try like hell to lose as much as I can by then and maybe I will end up changing my mind, but if I dont.I believe this is gonna change my life for the better either way..These next 6 months will be a test for me.I see this as the start of my journey.I have finally made up my mind to do something about my weight.I have been thin before so I do know what it is like, but I was so much younger and I didnt think before I LET MYSELF GET SO OVERWEIGHT.Didnt realize how hard it would be, didnt think before I drank all that coke, and ate all those burgers, and all that junk for all these years.Didnt think being this overweight could happen to me, but here I am.Im 33 years old and I am gonna start living my life the way I should have been the last 10 years..Probably will be visiting here often.Hope all your journeys are good ones.:biggrin2: -

Question for sleevers who's insurance covered surgery
kooterpooters posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much out of pocket did you actually have to pay after insurance covered their part?Just getting an idea.My cousin had the surgery here in WV and she said her total bill was 32,000 dollars but she only had to pay like 400 bucks out of pocket.I know if there are complications it may be more, but im just curious if everything goes well and there are no complications how much out of pocket am i looking at? -

Thanks for the replies.I have been thinking alot about the sleeve lately.I have 80/20 insurance, but there is still out of pocket. My insurance covers vsg if Doctor submits a letter of necessity.I was just curious.I know all prices are different for different places but I wanted and idea. -
