  1. My weight loss must be showing because today, the lady who delivers our Fed Ex at work asked me if I am losing weight and how am I doing it! Wow, I personally can't see much difference but it sure feels good having someone who doesn't really know me comment on it.

  2. I had my first non-scale victory this past week. My hubby bought me a new winter coat and I didn't have to get a Plus size!! I can't even explain how good this makes me feel. It's also awesome motivation to lose more!!

  3. I hate people asking me how much weight I've lost and then looking at me funny when I tell them. For some reason they seem to think that I should be down 50 pounds just two months after surgery. It doesn't matter how many times I explain to them how it works. It gets me down to get this kind of attitude. Especially from family members.

  4. I am really needing another fill. I am able to eat just about anything and am getting hungry after just a couple of hours. Yes, it's real hunger, not head hunger. I need to get into a better exercise routine. I think that will help things tremendously!

    Finally an answer!!!!!!!!!

Yay!! You have an answer! And while having a kidney issue isn't fun, it must feel great to finally know the reason for no weight loss. Hopefully the scale will continue to move downward for you!

Six months??? Wow, that is long time!! My problem is I don't really care much for cooked mushy veggies. I way prefer them raw. Going six months without would be really hard.

Has anyone else been told not to eat lettuce/raw veggies for a couple of months? I was banded 9/7 and my nutritionist told me not to have any salad, carrots, celery, etc. until the beginning of November. I can have cooked veggies just not raw. I've been really craving a salad and can't wait until next week when I can have one.
  9. Beautiful Fall weather here in the midwest. Had a pretty decent weekend and down a pound today. I still feel like I need more restriction and my next fill is the day before Thanksgiving. Ergh, good thing we weren't planning a big dinner this year...

  10. Hey Girl, how's it going? Have you lost any more yet or are you doing what we are supposed to do and staying off the scale? LOL, I can't help it but I get on it every morning and then am frustrated for the whole day when the numbers go up instead of down. Keep the faith, one of these days the scale is gonna be good to you!!

  11. When I got on the scale this morning it said I was up 3 pounds. I was apprehensive about what the surgeon was going to say about the gain at my fill appt. When I got there and got on their scale it said I had LOST 2 pounds! I know I've gained but I'm happy that by their scale I lost. Does that make sense? It sure lifted my spirits and now that I've got a fill I'm hoping to start heading in the downward direction again.

  12. Gained another pound. I hope I don't hear about the weight gain when I go for my fill Wednesday.

  13. TGIF!! It's going to be another beautiful fall weekend in the Midwest. I get my first fill next week. I sure hope it helps me start losing again.

  14. It took me a month or so but I really noticed the difference once I got the hang of it. I still kinda cuss at it nightly because I really want a mask that covers my mouth and nose and they can't seem to fit me in one. So, I have to use one that goes just over my nose and wear a chin strap. Ugh. The combo of the two is a pain, but it is really worth it for me. For the first time in many years I am able to sleep through the night. I guess I can say I got lucky because my hubby got his machine at about the same time as I did so we started it together. That helped a little with the emotional side of it. I think that once you get used to the thing and start getting a really good nights sleep you probably won't be under so much stress nightly when it's time to put it on. I wish you much luck!
  15. The Evil scale is causing me problems this weekend. It's moving, but in the wrong direction. Why oh Why does this have to be so stinkin' hard???

    Diet Soda Addict

I've been so good not drinking soda. Like the rest of you, I was a total addict. My favorite was Pepsi Max! I loved the extra caffeine! I've gone without it since mid August and didn't have a problem until today. My DH and I went to Arby's for lunch. They had a pic in their window of a sandwich, fries and a glistening, bubbly diet pop. Oh my, it was calling my name.....but I didn't order one. My husband did. And I took a sip....That soda tasted even better than it looked in the poster. It was cold and bubbly and the syrup to carbonation ratio was perfect. Will someone please tell me again why we aren't supposed to have carbonation? I can't stop thinking about that sip of soda and how fabulous it tasted... I need to hear again what it is going to do to me and how horribly evil it is. Thanks fellow bandsters!!

Sorry you are feeling so bad. I was able to feel my port at 11 days post op and it kinda stuck out, but I was not in any pain at all by then. Everyone has a different pain threshold but I think that maybe by now you shouldn't be having that much. It might be time to call the Dr and find out if they think it's normal. I sure hope the pain goes away for you soon!
  20. You're so lucky to be getting a fill this coming week!! I hope it goes well for you. I can not wait for my first one! And, I had a bite of pizza tonight and it wasn't as good as my cravings were making it. LOL, I wonder if the chicken nuggets will be so-so also when I finally try them...

  21. Once I started talking about losing 2 to 3 lbs a week, I stopped doing it. Arghh, I sure hope the fill will help with the hunger I feel most afternoons! And I hope the evil scale starts moving again!!

  22. Today I wore a pair of pants that are 2 sizes smaller than pants I wore a month ago!! TWO sizes smaller!!! Woohoo, go me!

  23. Today I wore a pair of pants that are 2 sizes smaller than pants I wore a month ago!! TWO sizes smaller!!! Woohoo, go me!

  24. Looking forward to my first fill. I get it on October 19th!! I hope it will kick start a nice weight loss average! I'm currently at about 2 to 3 pounds a week and would like it to be 4 or so...

  25. Every surgeon really is different. Mine specifically told me that I should be losing 1 - 3 pounds a week after the first week. So, they don't believe in the "time for healing" way of thinking. Once I started losing, it's been averaging about 2 lbs/week. I get my first fill on the 19th. I'm sooo looking forward to it. The hunger between meals hasn't been as bad as it was, but I've been drinking lots of protein so I think that's helping.
