So happy that you will be blessed with another baby! Congrats! Keep us all updated on how everything goes throughout. And be sure to post pics of your cute baby bump when you get it! -

While at the gym this morning, I stepped on the scale and noticed a post-it note eye level stuck on the wall. It read: Scale Disclaimer The scale does not tell you how great you are. The scale does not tell you how much people love you. The scale does not tell you how much people appreciate you for everything you do. Thank you kind stranger for putting a smile on my face! Just thought I'd pass it along.

This question is for sleevers that was 230 to 240 pre-sleeve
meriteri replied to Weightbgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 240 when I got sleeved and by 2 months out I had lost 30lbs. -
I had surgery Sept. 8th and now the weight was not coming off at all! So two weeks ago I joined a gym and started exercising and what do you know I've lost 4lbs. I'm so happy that finally the scale has started moving again. That seems to be working for me, maybe it will help you too. Plus I feel really good when I exercise. Good luck and stay positive.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I think clip ins will be the way to go. While doing some research I found something called my easy extensions. Looks easy, but I hate to buy stuff online without being able to actually see it first, even though I could return them. It still can be a hassle. I will think about it & keep looking around. Thanks again!

I am wanting a new look. My hair grows slow and I am wondering if extensions would work? I am 5 months post op and my hair is falling out, but not noticable. I want the extensions to get a new sexy length, not because of thinning. Has anyone else tried it? Also what type do you think would work best? I don't want to do anything to damage my hair. My husband wants me to cut my hair, but he's gone for 3wks right now. I think it would be fun to surprise him with a new look when he gets home, and show him that I can rock long hair! Any thoughts or suggestions?

That is soo funny that you say that, before my surgery my Dad and I were making jokes about that. I know weird, but that's his humor. He had me cracking up saying that I would be eating so little that my poop would be like a bunny. He even went as far as saying that I could be walking, give my pants a little shake and out it would roll! LOL! I dunno... I guess you had to be there, and know my Dad.

I met a 4-year sleever today
meriteri replied to DougNichols's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for sharing her lessons! It is scary to think about what can happen, if you don't do the right things & use this tool like your suppose to. I guess even after we've reached goal we'll always have to battle the bad foods & have self control. But I kinda knew that going into this. Now hearing about someone that failed makes it more "real" Good to know! -
Valentine's Day... What Will You Weigh???
meriteri replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Happy Valentines Day everyone! Well I did not make my goal But I am still happy that I lost and am in the 170's. At the start os the challlenge I weighed 187, today my weight was 177. That's a loss of 10lbs. and I'm hapy for that! Looking forward to an Easter or Spring Break challenge. My husband is leaving at the end of this wk. for training. He will be gone for 3wks. I'm gonna work really hard while he's gone, and make a mini goal to be out of the 170's! Congrats to everyone that lost weight! Whether you made goal or not, it's still a success! -
Sizzilng September Sleevers Monday Check In
meriteri replied to Labrys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone for welcoming me in! Cherice 3lbs., that's awesome! I usually get in about 60-70g of Protein. But I don't mind eating meats, it's the carbs that I love & need to stay away from! Looking forward to seeing everyone else's stats. Here are mine SW 240 CW 180 Last wk 181.2 This wk 180 That's a loss of 1.2. Not what I wouldv'e wanted, but I'll take it. I did manage to walk/jog 4 times this week, which is better than nothing like I was doing before. And I also did a little lifting with some weights too. I'm ready to join a gym & really workout, but it will have to wait til my baby gets better. He's sick and there's no way I'd be able to leave him in childcare right now. Hope everyone has a great wk! -
I'm curious for the different ages on here
meriteri replied to jamie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved a month after my 28th b-day! Loving it, and the thought of being healthy for the rest of my life! People would make comments before, like "Your young, you don't need surgery....You can do it on your own"! But by then I had already been battling my weight for about 14yrs. They actually made me stop & question myself. So glad I didn't listen to those people! -
Sizzilng September Sleevers Monday Check In
meriteri replied to Labrys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all Sizzling September Sleevers! I haven't been involved with these weigh-ins, but I'm ready to now. I need to hold myself accountable and I think writting it out & telling others my progress will help out. I love my sleeve and have been very happy with it. But I haven't been using my tool like I should. I've been snacking lately, and with bad carbs too! Also not exercising like I should. So I thought if I join this group it might hold me accountable to myself and others. I see yall do a Monday weigh-in. My weight yesterday was 181.2. So I'll check back in next Mon. And hopefully with news of weightloss, exercise, and no more snacking! Thanks for being there for me! Meredith -
I live in Killeen too, and after being on the waiting list at Darnall for 3months they refered me to s&w. Because of a neuromuscular disease I have the Dr.'s at Darnall weren't comfortable doing my surgery. But of course the sleeve isn't covered by Tricare. So I was self pay & decided to go to Dallas. I used Dr. Veninga and his price was $9995. Included all preop tests, surgeon fees, anesthesia fees, hospital fees, 1 night hospital stay, and 3 months folllow-up care. Later I got a call from Dr. Ganta's office in Austin to let me know he was doing single incision sleeve. Was interested in that, but had already been sleeved. Not sure how much it was for that with Dr. Ganta? Just thought I'd share that with you. Good luck finding a surgeon!
