That is fabulous! Congrats on ur weight loss
-
It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one facing this dilemma. Tonight I was talking with one of the doctors I work with and he said "good grief it seems like you've dropped more weight since I saw you last week! What is your ultimate goal?!" I discussed with him my goal weight of 150 lbs and that I'm still 22 lbs away and he was the first one to say "That is a healthy weight and a very realistic goal" I was like FINALLY someone gets it! I'm not trying to be 98 lbs here... just healthy

Plastic Surgery/babies
betheboo replied to smittinkittin's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I struggle with this want as well. I'm having my arms and chest wall done in 2 weeks. I'm not quite at goal but I'm only 22 lbs away and I would love to get a TT. However like you I have not had kiddos yet, plan on attempting in about 4 more years, and I worry about ruining the work It is a tough call. -
Ive Lost 51 Pounds, I Got A Fill Two Weeks Ago, I Feel Is A Good Fit But Im No Longer Losing
betheboo replied to show1980's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I generally make a smoothie with fruit, V8 fusion light, flax seed, greek yogurt, and green tea extract for my breakfast/lunch and I kinda nibble the remainder of my foods. They vary from lunch meat and cheese, cottage cheese, cooked veggies, string cheese, and popcorn. I don't really eat "a meal" persay. But I'm super tight. Plus I work night shift so my scheduel is super screwy for eating. smoothies are a must for me though I'm guarenteed Protein, fruit, veggie, get good omega's from the flax, and metabolism boot from the green tea extract. -
One day at a time. Hate to point out the obvious but get rid of the diet coke!!!!!! I was naughty and drank diet soda for a long time. I found when I gave it up I dropped weight so much faster! I find when I stray back to my pop habit I slow my weight loss big time. So tea is my drink of choice now. Occassionally I have a pop, like a couple of times a month, but for the most part I stay clear of it.

I hear you! My two best friends have totally shut me out in the past 6 months. As sad as it is it is jealousy. I used to be "that friend" you know what I mean... the one they could say "well at least I'm not as big as Beth". They no longer ask me to go shopping with them or invite me out to dinner. It is very hurtful and it's hard to think about starting over at 29 years old. These were people in my wedding! It is a very difficult topic

Wow you completed the quadruple bipass! That thing is crazy big! My husband couldn't even do the double. Now that you are banded you'll have to stick to their milkshakes made with a stick of butter! lol Congrats on your starting weight loss!

Starting Over Again...lol
betheboo replied to LookatmeNow34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You said you can't eat much... do you need to get a slight unfil so that you can eat healthier options? It's easy to get into a rutt of slider foods. It's worth a shot b/c you can always go back and get it filled again. I had a unfil in January, got tightened in the beginning of March, and I'm not getting a slight unfil again (b/c I am having surgery and I'm so tight right now I'm afraid things won't go well if I can't eat or drink much). -
Sometimes, They Just Don't Understand.

Don't let people get you down. I've had people hate on me... they tell me "just diet and exercise like everyone else". Welp I'm not everyone else. I did a year with a personal trainer and a year with a interventionist, most I ever lost was 30 lbs and I gained it all back. Lap band gave me the tool I needed to control my addiction to food. I don't regret it for one second! I didn't do it for other people I did it for myself -

Spinach Wraps...or Any Wrap For That Matter
betheboo replied to phatkatblue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I make pizzas on small tortilla wraps. They get crispy like thin crust pizza -
My bill to insurance was 19,968.28$! I was very thankful I didn't have to fork out that much. My portion ended up being 1,400$

I decided to get loosened for my brachioplasty. I am super tight right now & I'm worried if I wake up even tighter that I won't be able to keep down my meds. I am having my antibiotic & pain med be filled in liquid form just to make sure I'm able to get them down. I would rather have a slight unfill than end up in the hospital with dehydration or uncontrollable pain.

Pregnant And Not Removing Fill
betheboo replied to ExFatGirl's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My cousin is 24 weeks and she has never had any fluid removed during her pregnancy. She was on the looser end of the spectrum when she go pregnant and has no problem getting adequate nutrition. I wouldn't worry, if your ob has concerns he'll tell you. Pregnancy does not mean you need to double your calorie intake. Your eating for two but that second person is just a tiny little peanut! -
Yest I officially hit 110 lbs lost, in 1 yr and 9 days I am so close to goal, 24 lbs away, and I'm hoping that I'll be there by the end of summer. My band is super tight right now but I am stead fast on keeping it that way until I reach my goal. I had an unfill in Jan and maintained with no gain/loss for 5 weeks before going in for a refill to get my weight loss going again. Since having a refill in early March I've dropped another 20 lbs! May 3rd I am having brachioplasty so I am anticipating that may stunt my weight loss because of the healing process and I'm prepared for that. Kinda a bummer but I can't wait to see the results! My goal is to loose another 5 lbs, be in the 160's, before my surgery May 3rd so I am hitting the gym hard and really working on my upper body. I figure the better shape I'm in before surgery the better my results will be.

My secret... it's all about the FOOD! I exercise some don't get me wrong. Do I get to the gym faithfully every week? Nope! I do get out and do major yard work (digging holes ect.). When I do go to the gym I do about 10-15 min on the eliptical and a quick circut of weights. I occassionally go to an hour yoga class at a local spa. It's all about the food!!!!! I eat an ave of 600 calories per day. I'm big into my smoothies, I posted what I put in them on the nutrition board, b/c they fill me up with tons of nutrients, Fiber, metabolism boosting goodies I'm pretty tight right now and I'm planning on loosening my band when I hit goal so I can eat a lil more solids and hopefully maintain. I got a unfill in January and maintained for 6 weeks, but in hopes of loosing more weight I went in and got tightened back up. Thank you everyone for your encouraging words! Love this forum, it gives me strength to keep going!
