Lapband Relationship Curse - A Night Of Thinking...
kmt1973 commented on Tuckersmommy10's blog entry in Tuckersmommy10's Blog
You say it just started 6 months ago. Do you thinkk that maybe Curt is feeling some stress over another baby coming? People release stress differently, it kinda sounds like he might've tried holding it in and the dam broke so now everything makes him go off. I'm not saying he's cheating or not cheating, or its the new stress or not, but something new is going on. If this isn't how he normally is, I would seek counseling from a pastor or the like before you call it quits. p.s. You are definitly not complaining, you are reaching out for answers, and thats good. -
Either! I feel both at different times! Sometimes I get the pains and sometime I get the "can't breathe" feeling.

One Last Try! Trying The Lap Band Surgery Diet, Without The Surgery! Fingers Crossed!
kmt1973 replied to Joschieffer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the band, but not restriction. I am not much of a "dieter" as I don't want to feel deprived. Stay away from carbs except for that one night a week to allow yourself to drink. Lapband diet is easy....protein protein protein. I've lost 30 lbs so far by just doing this. I don't feel deprived bc there are alot of foods you can eat. You actually sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Most people are not honest with themselves, and tell themselves they are ready for the surgery when they're not ready to follow everything that goes with it. -

Prodical Bandster .....emotional Food Addict

I agree with both of the above. First...i would definitly talk to someone about this. It's alot harder going it alone. I have cut out carbs, cold turkey! It was the only way I could break my habit. It has worked amazingly well. Now, one day a week I allow them, since my cravings are gone. I have noticed 6 days a week I am not hardly hungry anymore but, the 1 day I wake up eating carbs in the morning I end up hungry all day. Cut the carbs but don't deprive yourself, there are plenty of delicious foods & drinks out there. Flavored waters are sweet and best of all guilt-free. -
I mix canned chicken with sour cream, mayo and green onions, Yummy. Or chicken, rotel & shredded queso cheese, microwave....delicious! When you get past the soft stage, throw it on a flour shell and brown it. Or tuna, peas mixed together, sprinkle some parmesean cheese on top, microwave for less than a minute. I hope these help.

Why Am I Afraid To Reach My Goal?
kmt1973 commented on nolongerafraid's blog entry in nolongerafraid's Blog
I am curious to know the "WHY" you sabatoge yourself. I find myself not sabatoging myself but have a certain amount of fear about being "skinny". Maybe if I was closer to goal I would feel the need to. I am really not sure where my fear is coming from. Know this....you are not alone! -
It really depends on your plan. It took me two appeals to get mine. But, as soon as I jumped through their last hoop, it only took like two weeks. I gave them a 3 year weight history, and they didn't want it just charted, they wanted the actual dr notes from 3 different years with my weight listed in the notes. Good luck to you!

Camping On Weekends, Help With Food Ideas?
kmt1973 replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tuna comes in a package with enough moisture, you don't have to add anything. I usually cut up a pickle in it. Also, tuna salad and chicken salad comes in little cans. I buy those little six packs of peanuts. You can put them in your pocket when you go on hikes. Cracklins, not sure I want to describe it, it will probably gross you out It is fried out pork skins, they are very hard and tasty, I know, I know gross right. But hey, I'm from Alabama, what do you expect Share your new ideas! -

Camping On Weekends, Help With Food Ideas?
kmt1973 replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My snacks for camping were, beef jerky & cracklins. Not nutritious but at least carb free. -
Yeah. I went through the same thing. All in all I had to wait a year from my first visit to my surgery. It was oh so worth it. I know how it excited I was, so a BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!!!!!
-
First and foremost, Quit beating yourself up. We've all been there, done that. If we all had such great willpower we wouldn't have needed the lapband for help. Just try your best to control yourself till you get the proper restriction. If you mess up once in awhile, thats ok. You are human. I myself don't have proper restriction yet, but hopefully will w the next fill. So until then I allow myself one day a week to eat any carbs I want. That way, I don't feel so deprived. Good luck.

I thought it would when I seen that big ole needle. They numb you first and that burns a little. I didn't feel the big fill needle at all. It was over in like 25 seconds. Good luck

Does Anyone Else Have A Controlling Mother ????
kmt1973 replied to ldjstonband's topic in The Gals' Room
It sounds like you are smarter, more mature, and have a great handle on your life, plus a great man in it. No one likes to think bad about their moms. Moms are supposed to want the best for their kids. If she is acting like a jealous woman than you need to stay your distance. Just like you would any other woman that acts like that. It definitly sounds like she is going to ruin your good life. Don't let her make you second guess yourself. -
I started out on it but I couldn't afford to eat that way. So now I just cut out carbs, its simple, its cheap. One day a week I allow myself carbs, within reason. This is what my nutritionist, recommended. Good luck

I am trying to figure out how to delete this post. I only erased the content. If anyone know, let me know. Thank you!

I can see how this is going to go in a bad direction, if there is a way for me to delete this topic please let me know. It was a rant that I should not have put on here and I am sorry that I did. This is what happens when the fingers work faster than the brain. It doesn't change how I feel, This just wasn't the time or the place.

I am not talking about the people that have real issues. I am talking about the whiners. I recognize that some have gone through a very rough time. I feel bad for them and care. I think people dwell too much on petty things and let that rule their lives. I don't see how it reflects poorly on me to tell people straight that things aren't as bad as they think they are.
-
First off, I'm scared of heights. Second, You are right, everyone has their own battles. People eating certain things, rude comments and slight pain shouldn't be what gets people down. And if thats the worst thing in their life then they got it pretty good and should recognize that.
-
I had just had a conversation with my mom about our friends son and what they are going through than got on here to see how everyone was doing and the topics by some complaining about petty things just got to me.
