Headaches ! Help
Roxyrooster replied to azrrel herrejon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is probably mild dehydration. Make sure you are sipping water all day long. I found that smart water and vitamin water zero really helped. I found warm/room temperature helped too. Also keep track of your thyroid. I was getting migains at 6 months out and found that my thyroid meds were too high. Don't be afraid to take some liquid Tylenol or fast melts. Your body is healing. Good Luck -
4 Days Out And Wtf Is Wrong With Me?
Roxyrooster replied to buttrfli1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try warm liquids and soups. My stomach spasmed after cold and I mistook it for hunger. Yes, my stomach is alot noiser. It talks all the time and I am almost a year out. -
Yes, I have had some issues with migrains. Make sure the dr. is checking your thyroid levels. Mine were way out of wack which was causing my migraines. Good luck.

Yes, this has been happening to me. I get chiropractic adjustments and massages. This really helps. My chiropractor gave me stretches and back strengthing exercises which seem to help.

The way it was explained to me is ....you want your food to stay in your stomach so you can stay full. If you dring water, it washes your food to you intestine so you don't stay full and want to eat more.

Almost 3 Months Out--No Bra Size Change? Is That Weird?
Roxyrooster replied to Sleeved&Hopeful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Question! I am 4 months out and have lost 3 sizes on the bottom and only 1 size on top. My bras fit better now, so I guess I was wearing the worn size before surgery. -
Hi, I am 2 months out and still cannot tolerate cold drinks. They cause stomach spasms. Does this go away?

Food Smells Different.
Roxyrooster replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, but not the the extent that you are experiencing. My sense of smell is more acute and I am much more sensitive to food textures too. -
Yes, all of the above plus popscicles too!

I am 12 weeks out and have had popcorn 3 times. I have not had any difficulty but I chew it very well and don't stuff handfulls in my mouth like I did before surgery.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
Roxyrooster replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I would have known that.... The cotton mouth would be horrendous in the hospital. I wasn't allowed to drink after until I had a leak test which was a total of 33 hours! I was going to be sent home with a pharmacy. I was sent home with liquid Loratab (yuck!!), an acid reducer,2 types of nausea tablets, nausea/vomitting suppositories, and perscription vit. D. ( I am extremely deficient) ( all the nausea meds are "just in case") AND.... that I had to crush all pills until 6 weeks. The nurses told me the crushed pills were better in applsauce. I disagree, They are better in yogurt, it hides the taste better, Just remember, however difficult your hospital stay/first week may seem, You will survive and do well. I am 7 weeks out and do not regret my decision at all! -

How Much Time Did You Take Off Of Work?
Roxyrooster replied to mesaucedo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a teacher. I took 3 weeks off. The week that I returned, I was worn out at the end of the day. My doctor put me on a 5 pound weight restriction for 6 weeks. Meaning I couldn't lift more than 5 pounds. This is to safeguard against hernias. -
Before surgery, I used to get leg cramps when I was dehydrated and low on calcium. I suggest that you get it checked out to make sure it isn't a clot.

6 Days Post Op, How Much Walking?
Roxyrooster replied to AmberDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amber, I ws sleeved on the 13th. My instructions were similar to yours walk 5 mins every hour you are awake. I was not told to get up after 4 of sleeping though. My dr. also told me not to use a recliner and while sitting use your feet to push an imaginary gas pedal and brake pedals. I am up and walking up and down steps quite frequently but when I get sore, I stop. Good Luck -
Scared...gastric Sleeve Surgery
Roxyrooster replied to mariemadeline's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ladies, Yes it is normal. I can also tell you that my biggest "buyers remorse" day was day 2 AFTER surgery. I was lying hte hospital after a sleepless evening wondering what in the world had I done to my body. This phase passes quickly. Just keep focusing on healing and being healthy. Best of luck on your surgeries and new healthy lives.
