Hi I am 3 days post op. (surgery on Tuesday). I was just wondering when everyone started to feel normal again?

Hi. I am due to be sleeved tomorrow and my sinus' decided to start draining today. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am on day 14 of an all protein shake diet. Tomorrow I do all clears with surgery on Tuesday! One thing that helped me was to eat/drink a protein shake every 2.5-3 hours, Also inbetween the shakes drink something warm. I am a teacher as well and had water bottles straegically placewd throughout my room. Remember this is a small price to pay for a new life! I call it VSG boot camp.

Yes I am very excited but stressed at what I have to do to get my house holiday ready. What about you? I have lost 14 pounds but only "officially" 9 according to my startign weight which was before Thanksgiving...need I say more? Yep I gained 5 pounds before I started my pre op. What about you?

@ Dolphin Kisses, I was born and raised in Walbridge Ohio, Just south east of Toledo. I now live in Michigan. @ Sleeve Dreamer, are you coming off of caffiene? If so, you might try weaning yourself ....those withdrawl headaches are a bummer! Also i am on day 9 of my preop diet. I had a head ache the first 2 days. Hopefully you willbe pain free soon. @ Cooper...we are sleeve twins!

I have not been sleeved yet, but nurse told me to pack a heating pad, Gas X, and peprmint tea. She said they all really help with the gas pain. Good Luck! I will join you soon.

HI All, I am on day 6 of a 14 day preop diet. Mine is 5 protein shakes and 1 fiber broth or jello. I am doing ok and haven't be tempted to cheat. But man does food smell good. I was out shopping today and smelled scrambled eggs. My mouths sarted watering and I don't even like eggs! Good luck to everyone. Keep us posted.

Hi fellow shoppers, I am beind sleeved on Dec. 13. Right now, I hate all my clothes and feel frumpy ! I just want to shop. I I know I only have a few weeks until my sleeve so I have to keep reminding myself to save my money. My problem is ....I went on a huge closet cleaning binge about a year ago and got rid of all my "smaller" clothes so now, I really will have to shop soon. I have been taking note of resale and Good will shops in my area. I am soo excited for us! :woot: I can't wait to hear stories from the losers bench. Good Luck to all! My prayers are with you! Roxy

Hi I was wondering if the post op leak test requires you to drink barium. I was told nothing by mouth until I had a leak test. I cannot imagine swallowing barium after surgery. Please advise. Thanks

@ Deigh, My nutritionist workshop was about how to eat before (pre -0p) and after. She also talked about vitamins and the importance of them as well as protein. She told us to think of protein as medication that we must have daily. The Therapist talked about dealing with head hunger, body changes and people who are going to try to sabatoge the eating. He also talked about how to show love to others w/o using food. My husband went with me and thought it was beneficial. In fact he is going to the next support group w/o me as they are doing multiple cooking demos and having a mini holiday food party. I will be on my preop diet at the time, even though I will be surrounded by people who have had or will have surgery, I am not sure I want to put myself in that sitation. Who knows, I may change my mind after I have been on the diet a few days.

Thanks everyone. @ Medicprincess are you taking all those supplements separatley? I was thinking of looking into a prenatal vitamin, My hair grew like crazy while I was on them.

December Divas...Does your surgery center use an interdiciplinary bariartic team? I just spent most of the day at the hospital doing presurgery work-ups and paper work. It was a long day but the team made me feel very comfortable and "special". They are genuinally comapssionate and want to see me succeed. In fact 2 nurses and 1 of the doctors gave me their home and cell numbers to call anytime with questions. Wow! I have my Nutrition class on Monday then the 28th begins the 2 week liquid diet. Anyone else have to drink Impact advanced recovery the week before surgery? December 13th sleeve date
