Thanks for all the help, I have asthma so I am going in the morning for a chest xray and then my doc will review in the mean time I am doing breathing treatments. I also had a hernia repaired so I am sure that has something to do with the pain to. Will post when I find out thanks for all the support

Hi Had the band done on Friday and I feel like I have broken ribs, hurts when I breath, I keep yawning and the pain is like a sucker punch to the ribs. What the heck is this? Thanks TT

My surgery is next friday June 10th. Some times we need the come to Jesus meetings to really get our point across, thank God he is with me on this. It is hard because he is a professional Chef so food is his life, the food channels are on all the time and everything centers around food. I don;t want to limit what he likes so we will have to work together on this. wish me Luck!!!

Ok so I had a come to Jesus meeting with my husband about my surgery. He finally understands and is supporting me but it was an up hill climb. Went to the nutritionist today for the last time before surgery and she was very helpful and supportative. Can't believe my date is almost here!!!!!! Im thankful I have school to keep me very busy ortherwise I would be climbing the walls. lol

I am also having my surgery on June 10th and just can't wait to get it done. I think the build up to it is what is so nerve racking! It's almost like closing one door and opening another all on one day. Good luck and keep in touch. Theresa

Went to the dr yesterday and they changed my date from the 13th to the 10th!!!! So much to get done. School is crazy busy don't understand why it is crazy Im usually very together but I don't feel together. Well I will just keep pluggin along. Peace

So came home from vacation all nice and tan, School started today so very busy with that. Tomorrow and Wed have appointments at Duke, then June 13th is my big day!!!!!!! Peace out T

got the call today and my aproval is in!!!!!! Very happy that big weight is lifted now on to the next stage in this journey. Going on a cruise, leaving sunday and will spend a week in the sun well deserved. Peace

Why are we always waiting? We wait for aproval, we wait for the scale to move,we wait for everything and then when it finally gets here we question it. Guess I'm just tired of waiting but then again I have come to realize there is our time and Gods time and sometimes they are a world apart. Peace

Hey my date is June 13th can't wait to start the second half of my life

This is just too funny, I am also going on a much needed vacation!!! I am going on a cruise, I leave May 15th and come back May 22nd and school starts May 23rd. for this summer session I took my classes on line, I figured that would work out best, then I get 3 weeks off in july into august and then the fall semester starts. What is your major and when do you graduate? I graduate dec 2012 and my major is criminal justice. the seminars are good, very informative make sure you take lots of notes cause you will be so excited and also be on information overload you'll forget half the stuff when you walk out the door. I keep a small note book with me all the time and I am always writing down questions for my dr. and remember it's your body so no question is a stupid question. Well I got the call today and my surgery is June 13th. My husband still is not on board with this but I am determined I will do this for me. I am tired of hearing I love you just the way you are, it's about my health, why can't he get that thru his head. The Dr. told me today that I am boarder line diabetic and you would think that he would understand since he is diabetic, but I guess not. I will forge forward and continue this journey no matter what!!! On a positive note I made the Deans list yay. Peace out

First I must say welcome I started reading your post and saw myself, so much of what your going thru I have already walked thru and I must say It gets better. I too have cancer (in remission) I also have Fibro. My cancer was in my thyroid so I no longer have one and I must be kept hypothyroid which makes losing weight even more difficult. I too have 100 pounds to lose and I have decided to be banded. I have one month left of my 6 month requirement and then I will get this done. Unlike you I am 52 however like you I started the cancer journey at the same age as you. The good news is you will get your life back, you are determined and you have now learned the value of the life you have. I think that was the turning point for me. I went thru so much and my focus was totally on the illness that the weight took a back seat but now I am facing it head on just like I faced the cancer. When I feel one coming on I just tell myself look where I was and look where I am there are many people worse off and many who could never get to where I am and then I move on. You need more Protein and take Biotin, keep them short so they don't peel so easy and at night rub a little olive oil in the cuticle area and the nail bed. Drink more Water. (I was a nail tech for years) Theresa

Your going to be just fine. You know he loves you and he supports your decision and just remember everyone has baggage so just go and relax have a great time. Theresa

Here is something better: Take a box of fat free brownie mix and one can of black Beans. Put the beans in the blender liqud and all and puree them. mix them and the box of brownie mix and in a bowl and blend together. (don't put anything in the brownie mix but the beans) bake as usual and cut into squares. they are very high in Fiber and fat free.

Ok I am going to air on the side of caution here. I would wait and here is why. At this stage your still volunerable, unsure of yourself and could be taken advantage of. Also he is coming to the table with alot of baggage right now and you don't need that, you need to worry about you! I am probably old enough to be your mom so I guess I am looking at it from a different view. Keep us posted and good luck with your decision. ttny007

Good Morning, Been crazy busy with finals for school but thought I would post an update: Thursday April 28th I went to Duke for my visit with my surgeon Dr. Yoo. I really like him and his staff which is so important, he is very upfront and says it is a marriage for us and we must be honest and dedicated. I have everything done I just need my last 2 dr appointments I have one scheduled may 5 and june 2, and then everything gets submitted after that. They said they can schedule the surgery as soon as the approval comes thru and they are pretty quick with the scheduling. Dr. Yoo gives his patients his email address and checks it two times a day, everyday and he personally responds. School is done on May 5th (full time college student), I am going for a long weekend in boston and then taking off on a Cruise for a week. I figure this is a great distraction while waiting for my surgery. School starts again on May 23rd so life will be very busy. Will post again and put up picks from the cruise!!! Peace TT
