I was sleeved a week ago tomorrow and I understand what you mean!!! I told my hubby that I really want to chew on real food....I don't even want to swallow it, just chew it! LOL! I'm on liquids for 3 weeks, so I have 2 weeks to go! I can't WAIT to eat a scrambled egg with a little cheese on top! LOL! I've found that my favorite protein powder is Nectar....so good! GL!! We can do it!

Ok, I'm 2 days post-op and yesterday I was seriously thinking "what have I done to myself???!!!" LOL....Things are MUCH better today! Last night I swallowed all 3 tsp of my lortab at once and my stomach seriously rejected it. NOT GOOD. I've never hurt so badly after throwing up. Then at 3:30am I did the same thing (duh!) and, of course, it came right up too. SO, I'm taking my Pepcid to help with acid, I'm sipping on my lortab (nasty stuff) with a grape juice chaser. I've also been able to sleep more today and I feel so much better now! I haven't gotten in much fluid today, probably around 12 oz, but I'm going to work on that tomorrow and I'm going to start my protein shakes tomorrow. I'm also taking my anti-naseau meds faithfully and that is helping a lot too. It so weird to HAVE to take tiny sips all the time now! It's been a serious adjustment, but I'm finally getting the hang of it! I was hoping to make it to church on Sunday, but we'll have to wait and see how I feel. I told my hubby at 3:30 this morning that I thought I'd just bounce right back from this surgery....he laughed and said "Oh, so you ARE human?!" LOL! I did get on the scale this morning (I said I wouldn't until 1 week out, but I couldn't resist!) and I've lost a grand total of 20.4 lbs since starting my pre-op diet! (I've lost 3.8 lbs since my surgery!) CRAZY! I can't wait unitl I'm healed and can work out! One thing at a time, though! Hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks for all the support too!

I'm 4 days post op and have managed to get down about 28 oz of fluids so far today. I'm hoping to get the full 64 but I'm pretty pleased with how much easier it is today to get fluids down. Hoping it just gets easier for all of us!

I LOVE Dr. Nick!!! He is so wonderful. He explains everything, lets you ask lots of questions, is so kind, definitely no nonsense and definitely has wonderful surgery skills! I'm so glad I went with him!

I'm sleeved!! I can hardly believe it! The surgery went really well! I had a hard tim coming out of the anesthesia, but other than that its been great! I had a lot of pain when I first woke up, bu now, its limited to the left side of my abdomen! Thank you for the prayers! I'm ready to rock my sleeve!!!! <3 (Sorry if this is jumbled...the morpine I'm on is good stuff!)

Ok, I spoke too soon. I didn't take my zophran as soon as I got home and when I took my liquid lortab....I threw up everything in my little tummy along with a lot of mucus (I've had post-nasal drip all week). It was horrible. I threw up again about 30 min ago....so, I'll be taking my zophran on a VERY regular basis and I think I may skip the lortab all together.....It's too sweet or something....when it hits my tummy, it just comes straight back up. ICK. Praying things are better over the next few days. I have had the thought "what have I done to myself!" cross my mind over the last 12 hours!! I just keep telling myself, IT WILL GET BETTER!!!

I'm so exited!!! I cannot believe that tomorrow at this time I'll be in surgery!!! CRAZY!!!! I scheduled my surgery date a month ago tomorrow and felt like it would NEVER get here and this past month just flew by! I'm ready! I've lost 15.4 lbs on my pre-op diet! I'll get my official weigh-in tomorrow, but I'm going to stick with my personal scale for the rest of my weight tracking. It's close enough to my dr's scale for me! Prayers for all of our March sleevers going in this week! Thanks for all the support and I'll see y'all over on the losers bench!! YAY!!

Hi, y'all! I got home Wed afternoon after my surgery on Tues. I had some vomitting last night, I've had a lot of post-nasal drip this week, so most of it was mucous. That was a HORRIBLE experience!! I do NOT recommend it! LOL! I've done ok all night until about 3:30am (Thurs) when I took some liquid lortab and it came right back up. So, I've discovered that for me, I have to take my zophran regularly (every 6 hours) and my pepcid every night (this morning was a lot of bile too) and I don't think I'm going to be using the lortab anymore. The pain isn't too bad and it definitely isn't worth the throwing up to take the pain med! Please tell me this gets better!!!

Hey, y'all! Just wanted to share that I was sleeved yesterday, everything went perfectly! I had a little difficulty waking up from the anesthesia, but other than that its been great! I'm having some pain on my left side only and some gas trapped in the same side. I'm about to go home! I've also only had one bout of nausea today! I feel really good! Much better than I thought! Gl to all our sleevers still to be sleeved this week!

Thank you so much ladies! Found out this evening that my fast bloodwork last week showed that I have diabetes! Whoa!! So thankful that I'm doing this right now! Healthy me, here I come!!

Beading nurse - thanks! I am posting (from my blackberry) because I feel that good! Pretty woozy from the pain meds. I have to walk one more time tonight, then I'm going to sleep!

Thanks. Girls! DazyKrazie - I was intubated but they inserted the tube after I was knocked out and removed it before I woke up. I did have a large tube in one nostril when I woke up because I had a hard time waking up but I don't think that's normal!

I definitely regret doing it and am a little worried...what happens now? I'm a week out from my surgery and ate most of a California Kitchen pizza last night. I ate 1900 calories yesterday and I'm only supposed to eat 1200 calories a day. I was STARVING! It was day 6 of my pre-op diet and I don't know if my body was just freaking out because I've been eating so little or if it was a stress trigger or a little of both, but I really regretted eating all that pizza. It wasn't all in one setting, it was spread out over the whole evening, but I'm still not feeling so great. I'm on all liquids today to get back on track. Ugh. Please tell me this gets a little easier after surgery!!!! :( :(

I'm actually seeing a psychologist pre-op on the recommendation of the psychologist I saw for my eval. I was pretty nervous, but it has helped a LOT!!! I'm 5 days from having my surgery and I'm really feeling like all I need help with now is getting rid of my gigantic stomach!! We're still dealing with ongoing problems in my life, but I can clearly see the triggers I used to respond to by overeating and I'm ready to do battle with the help of my sleeve!! Don't be scared! You'll be surprised how much better you'll feel getting things figured out!! GL, hon!

Doug uses fat secret.com to track all his info, so I checked it out and I LOVE IT! I downloaded the app to my phone and now it's super easy to keep up with what I'm eating and my weight! I use my scale at home and I started with what I weighed at my pre-op appt because that 's the highest weight that I knew of (stopped weighing myself a few years ago).

I'm being sleeved on Tuesday (3/8/11) and my birthday present to myself will to be in onederland (by 8/19/11)!!! I'm going to do what you are doing! Protein first, water, water, water and workout!! I'm right there with ya, CBL. The first week was great, I had a LOT of energy, but today the sluggishness hit and I feel like a snail. Even took a nap this afternoon and it only made me feel worse. Ugh. Only 6 more days to go for me.....we can do it!

Kim, so glad your surgery went SO well!!! Thanks for sharing your experience at Forest Park....that's where I'll be on Tuesday! I was a little nervous since it's such a new facility, but you have reassured me! So, is there a whole floor just for weight loss surgery patients post-op? Did you walk the halls? Were the rooms as nice as in the pictures? Tell us everything! LOL....thanks again for sharing! Praying your recovery will be quick!
