I am about 4 1/2 months post op. As I reflect on the time since surgery I know I've had many ups and downs. This past month has been harder for me than the others. It's summertime, I'm reconnecting with my social life, and basically living life again. I went on a mini-vaca with friends. I drank and had fun. While I know this doesn't help with my weight loss (and yes the scale slowed during this time) I had a lot of fun with my friends, which has been a long time since I let that happen due to not wanting to be around many people when my weight was higher. Now that I'm home and back on track the pounds are coming off. I've lost 70 pounds since surgery and 133 pounds since starting the process. Some NSV's I've had: 1). not having to worry about fitting in a booth at a restaurant 2). fitting comfortably in the seat while I drive 3). fitting comfortably in a seat at the movie theater 4). having more confidence 5). working up to an hour on the elliptical (yay!) 6). getting into my smaller clothing 7). being comfortable enough to attend social events 8). having more energy to babysit and play with my nephew 9). being able to plan future vacations and book fun, adventurous activities 10). being able to smile again and feel happy (no more fake smile!) There are so many more but that is what comes to mind right away. I know I still have a long way to go but I know I will get there eventually! I'm so happy I had the sleeve and am ready to focus again and hit more milestones!

ALL BAD RELATIONSHIPS MUST COME TO AN END
sunnyd replied to GreenEyedMamma's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! That is a fabulous NSV- no more worries for you! I haven't flown on a plane forever, but will be several times in the next year. My first flight will be in mid October. I hope to be around 250lbs by that time. I'm 5'7- do you think I will need to use one? I hope not! I have no idea at what weight people need one. I know it is probably different for everyone- but wondering if there is a ballpark number? -
If we puke up our food...
sunnyd replied to wendy1974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! I thought the same thing- that you were asking if you should eat your puke. Whoa- so glad that was not your question! LOL!! I agree with the others- take it easy. Try going back to shakes/liquids and then easing back into food. I'm almost 5 months out and still do that occasionally. It always seems to help. -
irrregular menstrual cycles
sunnyd replied to Dropping's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in mid March. A couple weeks later I had a brief period and then didn't have one until this week. It was only 3 days and a less heavy flow than I had pre-op. I think it took my body a while to get over the shock I put it through. Hopefully I will be regular now. -

What type of juicer do you have? I really think I want to purchase one. I've been looking at the Breville brands online- they seem to have good reviews. Just wondering if they are worth the $$$ though. -

What is the one significant thing in your life that you can do now...
sunnyd replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Having my energy back and living life!! I'm not backing away from social events anymore and am enjoying hanging out with my friends. Even though I still have 100+lbs to lose I feel more confident. Yes I'm still self conscious but not as much as before. Oh it is also a big relief to be able to go to a restaurant and not worry about fitting in the booth. -
Good work! I'm sure you'll be in onderland in no time!
