    How do you figure how many points to use? I had a book once but it got thrown away. Doesn't it started with the first 2 digits of current weight and add points based on activity level. Is that right?

Didn't gain it all overnight, can't expect to lose it overnight.

    Calories per day

    This has been a very helpful to me. I usually eat around 1000 calories a day and I have been exercising 3 times a week. I will lose a little bit but have been staying at about the same weight for the last few months. I am so nervous about gaining that it is hard for me to eat more but I think that I may have gone into a starvation mode. I am going to try to start eating more calories and see if I can jump start my metabolism. I'm just not sure what to do.

    Is it what you eat or how much?

    I was also wondering about this. I had read about calorie deficit and how it you go over 1000 deficit each day, your body will go into a metabolic slowdown mode. I think this is what is going on with me. I have been working out 3-4 times a week and I usually eat only 1000-1200 each day. When you take the calories I burn during a workout away, my body is only running on like 600-800 calories which isnt enough. It is hard to get it in your mind to eat more to lose weight. I am going to try it and see what happens. I have noticed on days when I work out that I feel weak and I am sure that is why. Thanks for the post about this info! It has helped me alot!
  11. I have the same issue. I've always carried most of my weight in my lower half. I've been doing the elliptical for at least 30 min a day 3-4 days a week plus strenght training and I have noticed that my legs are getting more toned and smaller. It takes time. You can do it! Don't give up! Try the elliptical or the stair master.
  12. My husband and I are talking about having another child. We have 2 now. I know people that have had a baby after being banded and had no problems. I'm going to talk to my Dr about it and hopefully will get the all clear. Wish me luck. And good luck to everyone who is trying!

    Dear Reese's Pieces..I hate you..

    I totally know what you mean! I love PB and used to just eat it out of the jar. It doesn't agree with my band since my last fill so I have to limit it. I will have some reese's pieces once in a while and I use it as a reward. I love popcorn too. I haven't had any problems with it and have an air popper. Its a good way to get some fiber too. Don't be too hard on yourself.

    How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills

    Ok, its been almost 6 months since my last fill. I've only lost about 10-12lbs during that time. Should I go for another fill? I have about 5 cc in a 10 cc band. I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

    I have been having discouraging thoughts lately about my weight loss journey. So, I took a step back and re evaluated. I have lost 62 lbs so far in 1 year. Thats a little over 1 lb per week. I know that I would not have lost this amount of weight any other way because I tried everything before being banded. I am working out regularly and able to get outside and play with my kids. I have dropped 3 sizes so far. I just feel better. I highly recommend having it done but its a personal decision. I would still like to lose 50 lbs and I am going to do it slowly. Slow and Steady wins the race!! Good luck!

During the mushies stage, I ate yogurt, sugar free jello, cream of wheat, instant mashed potatoes, canned chicken breast smashed up and mixed with a little bit of cream of chicken soup so that it is pretty soft. I got really creative with shakes, adding sugar free jello powder in different flavors to vanilla to make it taste better. You can blend in peanut butter into chocolate protein shakes and it adds more staying power to it. Good luck and don't give up! You can do this! One day at a time!

    Getting back on track?

    I feel like I need to get back on track too. I had my surgery in April 2010 and was doing really well. I did great all summer and into the fall. When the cold weather hit, I started wanting to cook and bake more. Big mistake! I did make it through the holidays without gaining anything but I wasn't losing. I am a girl scout leader, so it was a huge temptation when we sold cookies this year!! That is finally over! I'm trying to get back on track. I have only lost 10 lbs since Christmas. I'm not sure how to get back on track. I have been working out about 3-4 times a week and feel pretty good. I still have 55 lbs that I want to lose. Any suggestions are very welcome!

    Any Non Scale Victories?

    Non-Scale victories 1. I was able to put on my favorite jeans from college, that I haven't been able to wear in 11 years. 2. I am able to run and play with my kids 3. I've been getting compliments on how great I look! 4. Almost excited to buy a new swimsuit this summer! Definately still have a ways to go but I have to Celebrate the small victories!

    Hello!

    Hello all! I'm new at this. I was banded on April 23, 2010 and have lost 62 lbs so far. I've kinda hit a plateau and am having a hard time losing. I have a 10 cc band and 5cc filled. I have been going to the gym 3-4 times a week so I feel like I am toning up. I've probably slacked off on my eating habits some and I need to get back on track! Any suggestions?
