  1. WOOHOO! CONGRATULATIONS! I know the feeling! My goal was also a size 8, I never thought they would fit and one day they did and now I'm in a 6 lol. So crazy!

    Stretch marks

My stretch marks are REALLY visible and I am quite pale but my stretch marks either have a pink tint or a silver tint depending on where they are. They are all over the backs of my arms, breasts, up to my rib cage, inside and outside of my thighs. It's gross but mine will not go away I even tried a mystic tan hoping they would be less visible. Uh yeah, they are more visible when I get the spray tans.

    Breast Loss

Now that is good to know! That has been the only thing I have been worried about with the surgery. Now I just need to hit the lotto like now lol.

    Breast Loss

LOL! My hubby did the same thing tonight as I was researching bras online. Men! I told him if he wanted them to look like those pics he really needs to save up some money a little faster And I have twins too Anyways, I worked up all the courage I could tonight to go to Victorias to get sized. I had already done it at home but had hoped desperately that I was wrong. Uh yeah, I was right. Down from a 38B (probably more like a 40 or 42 but couldn't find those sizes in stores) before surgery to a 36A now. AN A CUP! I told dh I should save my money and hit up Walmarts training bra section. I tried on different sizes and go figure I am kind of inbetween being a 34 B and a 36A. But the best fit was the A *sniff sniff*. The 34 band gave me even more of that awful underarm fat. Ick. None of their bras fit well though and Pennys was closed by the time I left so I hit Target and found a hugely padded bra for only $17 that fit better than the ones at Victorias lol. While over looking for kids clothes I walked past the training bra section and let me just say I was a little angry, why in the world are bras that padded for kids?! I can understand having a thicker material for modesty but these were full on padded bras. *sigh*
  5. My migraines and general headaches have actually gotten worse since surgery

    Normal?

Every person is different. Even people at the same height and hte same weight and the same age will lose differently. Don't stress about it, thats a significant loss. Try as hard as you can to NOT compare yourself to others.
  7. I did not like the idea of my intestines being messed with. I also did not like the the idea of so many food restriction many of my RNY friends deal with. I did this surgery knowing I could eat most anything I wanted but in smaller portions. The idea of dealing with dumping over simple things was enough to turn me off. I had started going to a support group months before I had my surgery and listening to all the RNY issues really made it an absolute no-no to me. I saw many complications. As well as a good friend who had the surgery 3 or 4 years ago and has had so many medical problems as a result, it was quite scary to me. Take one of my support group friends, she had the RNY 9 months ago. She cannot stand the smell of food period. She cannot cook most things now because it is enough to turn her stomach, though I do believe part of it is phycological. She throws up at least once weekly, generally more than that though over foods she previously could tolerate. She cannot eat bread, Pasta, etc. at all. She cannot eat any meat except chicken meatballs and chicken salad put through a food processor. She cannot deal with any sweets because of the dumping. How miserable would htat be?! Sure I may not be able to eat much but I had a fun sized Kit Kat today with no problem as a treat. I drank my sugared up coffee today too with no problem. I ate ground beef tonight with no problem. I simply did not want those problems. I also see from our group that there are many who cannot stop losing, while I realize this can be true too with the sleeve I see it far more often with the RNY. 3 people alone in our pretty small group are seriously underweight and unhealthy now. It just was not an option for me. It was the sleeve or nothing.
  8. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It sounds like you know how much you should be eating so don't push it. Eat whatever amount you are supposed to and stop. Did you eat quickly? Or did you take your time? I am almost 7 months out and still cannot get that much down, so you need to be cautious so you don't make yourself sick or sabotage yourself.
  9. Bwahaha! I can't help but laugh at the idea of a Meet and Eat hahaha! Now we do have potlucks monthly but they are strictly WLS friendly foods and we are not allowed to bring dessert Gotta keep some people in check ha! Can't imagine meeting in some fried food kind of place, that is just too warped! lol. Dealing with the self-pity isn't my thing either. Now I have seen some of the "jealousy" that can go on and had some comments from slow losers and that drives me insane. I finally had to sit down one lady and explain that I am half her age, I have little children at home that I chase around all day and I don't work outside of the home so I have more options all day and less temptation to eat out than her. Now we are cool again and she (hopefully) got why I hit goal already.

    B12

I buy it OTC from Costco, I still have most of the bottle and I'm almost 7 months out ha! Anyways, I think I started taking them about a month post op.
  11. Truthfully I just didn't get much of any protein for probably the first 7 weeks with the issues I had, I would say the only source of protein I did get was from string cheese. Once I was able to eat I just had sure to focus on protein first and everything after. My levels have been fine at each check up.
  12. Ew, that is enough to make me want to gag. I take the gummy vitamins that I get from Costco. The nutritionist tried to tell me they weren't good enough but my lab work has been great so they work.
  13. Good grief, that would drive me insane too! The group at our hospital is like that and it has doctors and nutritionists in it that really just go off of books instead of real life experience. The group I go to, thankfully, doesn't allow medical professionals and if you work in the med field you aren't allowed to say so. It's lead by all of us, and all of us have had surgeries. The "main" person in the group who has been there the longest is so straight forward and sarcastic that she scares off the idiots haha! Half the time we just have a good time talking, instead of focusing on WLS stuff. It's a great excuse for me to be around adults hehe.
  14. I do believe the support is a wonderful thing to have but if I had a drive that far, I wouldn't go, I would just spend more time on here Thankfully my group is 5 minutes from my house.
  15. I have not been able to tolerate protein shakes since surgery, I couldn't even handle mixing powder in with smoothies so I totally get it. My go-to has always been string cheese. I buy huge packs of it from Costco. You can try Greek Yogurt too.
  16. Talk to your surgeon about going on a PPI, I take Nexium twice daily, plus Zantac. Gas strips are wonderful. Also you might need a different temperature of Water. Some tolerate hot, some cold, some room temp, everyones body is different. With the sore throat, it's from being intubated. It will go away soon.

Death by uterus?? Is this possible??!! LOL....

YES! Mine are so much worse now than they were before. Granted they are shorter, it's like everything happens all at once and done in 2 days. But the cramps are horrendous, I end up in tears and just miserable. I talked to my PCM about it a few weeks ago she suggested taking an anti-inflamatory, since my surgeon won't allow me to take motrin, she told me to try the Meloxicam that I can take. She suggested possibly needing to go on a birth control pill to help control them and lighten them but I won't put anything else in my body unless necessary. She said rapid weight loss can do horrible things to your cycle ugh.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely go out shopping this weekend for new bras. Thanks!

    Shapewear

I use them for looks. If I don't wear shapewear I end up with a muffin top over my jeans and skirts, it's just not pretty. I generally can go down a size if I am wearing good enough shapewear. It's necessary for me too if I do something like running or jumping around, my stomach flops up and flops back down painfully without it. And for anyone looking for Spanx, do yourself a favor and order off ebay, you can get them for brand new for so much cheaper than you can from the stores or even directly from Spanx.
  20. I hit goal yesterday ! I scared the snot out of my husband when I came flying out of the bathroom and woke him up to tell him HAHA! It has been 28 weeks since I had the sleeve done. Started out at 240.8 before the liquid diet, 228.8 day of surgery and exactly 150.8 as of yesterday Cannot believe I have lost it all YAY! The weight is coming off still and I don't plan to stop it yet. At only 5'4 my goal of 150 lbs still puts me in the overweight category (which I think is beyond stupid) so I will just let my body do what it wants to do for now. The best part? No one believes I weigh 150, everyone says I look so much thinner, so yay for me Even though I had a weight goal in mind I have always been more concerned with getting to a size 8 jeans and I have successfully gotten there with a medium shirt. Last month I tried on a juniors jean skirt that I have not been able to squeeze in to in 10 years, well I just didn't think it would ever fit my body again so I put it in the yard sale pile. Well this weekend I went through that pile and decided to try it on one last time and IT FIT! I wore it to Church yesterday I am still dealing with minor complications, mainly pain from time to time but it's ok, it's not as bad as it was. I still have to take two Nexiums and 1 Zantac a day but again, it's easy to deal with. I cannot exercise, other than walking, at this point so I hope to add it back in soon. My labs looked great however I'm having an issue with dizzyness and we don't know why but the dizzyness and headaches get so much worse if I exercise or even just do too much in one day, I'm guessing it's because I can't eat much still. Anyways, I posted these pics a few weeks ago but will post again to show my progress

    Breast Loss

Mine were hardly left after the children but now? The boobs shriveled up and died. It's annoying. Wearing a 36 B but probably should be in an A. Saw plastics a few weeks ago and he recommended implants plus a lift. Hubby of course is totally on board So for now my bras contain QUITE a bit of padding
  23. Mine have been extremely heavy but very short lived since surgery, we are talking 2 days of absolute torture and then it's done with. I never used to get cramps like I do now either. My PCM wants to try me on birth control but I'm not willing to take it so I just get to suffer now.
