Eight weeks post-op, I can eat everything
swizzly replied to Nelly S.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been able to eat nearly anything since I left the hospital. I've never thrown up since day three post-op, and I've never got any food stuck or anything like that. No foamies or sliming or chest pain, except once the latter when I drank cold Water too fast. I got up to 1000 cals/day as quickly as I could (personal choice, my plan doesn't have a calorie guideline whatsoever), and I'm required to have a balanced diet including carbs. I am now usually between 1000-1200 cals per day, 50-70 g carbs, and I only walk a lot, no other working out. I've lost 64 lb since surgery, six months ago. Not the fastest ever, but fast enough for me. Keep up the good work! -
Oh man, you look great!!! How tall are you? We started out pretty similar, but you're way ahead of me now. You've lost 10lb more than me post-op, and I didn't have a pre-op diet/loss at all. WELL DONE YOU!! Hope you get feeling better again soon.

Also six months out, also bouncing around the same weight for about six weeks now. I figure it's a plateau and things will move again soon. We will keep losing, it may just be slower than it was! And there are always times when your body just needs some time to adjust and gear up again or something. That's how it seems to be for me anyhow. Good luck!!

How long before you stopped losing weight
swizzly replied to Loooou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hiya Looou -- I am six months out and I have been stalled for about six weeks at roughly the same weight, it bounces up and down, but doesn't really move. I really don't think I'm done losing, though -- I just think it's a plateau and eventually the loss will start up again. I think that will happen for you as well, just hang in there and don't get too hard on yourself. Also, I eat 1000-1200 cals per day, don't really count carbs per se, but they are usually in the 50-70 g range. Good luck!! -
My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)
swizzly replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wow, just now seeing this -- you look so GREAT!! I am envious of that rack, sister!! Dayum... -
I think so! I've been stalled for a few weeks, but I don't think it's calorie-related, as nothing really changed in that department. I think it's just a plateau. But yeah, I've lost 64-ish lb in six months, which may not be the fastest on record, but it works for me. (I have also have personal ED history with very low cal, so I have sub-1000 triggers that I need to stay away from when possible.)
-
^^^ Me too. I was up to 800 fairly quickly and am always now between 1000-1200 a day, except for the odd occasion when I'm under that or over that, but those are rare.

Wow, you look so great!! And that baby is an absolute DOLL!! I would lose weight just because I'd want to nom on those cheeks all day! Sooo cute. Congratulations on losing, maintaining, and on adopting your beautiful girl.

A little disappointed with myself...
swizzly replied to Amanda131's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I totally understand what you're saying. I've been shocked to have this reaction myself a couple of times just very recently. I absolutely don't think I've cheated, but there is some weird tinge of...conscience?? that makes me just go, wth?! I didn't see it coming and I don't agree with it on a conscious level. So I'll have to sort this one out, too. If you figure something out, let me know. -
SO COOL!!! And I love your YouTubes, I've watched them all now! You look just FAB. Really.

Unbelievable. Just STUNNING.

I have never used protein shakes, just don't have many to choose from and I'm meant to get my protein from food. I do track on fitnesspal because I want to have an idea of how things stack up. Plus, I want to have minmum 1000 cals per day, so I track to make sure I'm hitting that. I'm now usually between 1000-1200, with about 60-90 g of protein.

Thinking of Cancelling my Surgery.. HELP!!!
swizzly replied to imnotfat_momsayimchubby's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no pre-op diet at all. I think you'll be fine. -
How far out were you before you started to feel real hunger?
swizzly replied to lililinks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My acid levels are good, have not had any problems thank god. And head hunger -- I don't think I'm having that, it feels like normal bog-standard hunger, like I had pre-op. It's not that big a deal, I can manage it -- would be awesome to not have any hunger though. Knowing me, I'd abuse it in an anorexic way. -
BIG secret... good or bad?
swizzly replied to indy sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same thing happened to me -- the official 'stamp' that the doctor signs on says something like nutrition and metabolic medicine, translates like bariatric clinic essentially. Great, thanks... -
How far out were you before you started to feel real hunger?
swizzly replied to lililinks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been hungry the whole time, it never went away. It's manageable, though, because my plan is three meals and three snacks per day, so by the time I'm hungry again, I can have something to eat. -
I TRIED to eat a baked potato today......
swizzly replied to Texas Gal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Nut would love me to eat more potatoes, but it is one of the only things my tummy doesn't like. Especially baked ones, which are my favorite kind. I agree that they are really good for you, I would totally eat them if I could. My program moves to soft foods straightaway, so I would've tried the same thing you did, loris and Texas Gal. -
What was your Bougie Size?
swizzly replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually have no idea what size mine is. -
I haven't tried the Gap ones, but the Eddie Bauer boyfriend jeans (button-fly) are great for me. They don't have any spandex in them, so they don't stretch out and get baggy, and they're low-rise without being too low-rise. They also make me look smaller than anything else LOL, not sure why. I've tried the "Not Your Daughter's Jeans" a few times because so many people have said good things, and they just totally don't fit my body at all. For whatever reason, the ones I've tried have all had a really long waist too, which doesn't work on me (even when I'm fatter). I love skinny cargoes, my new addiction -- like these. I also have these, they are super soft and cute, I totally recommend them.

I had braces in my 30s, haven't regretted it for a minute.
