    Alcohol!?

I was allowed wine since six weeks post-op (well, alcohol in general, but for me that's mostly just wine). I don't have any problems drinking it, doesn't make my stomach hurt -- but it DOES make me drunk way faster and I get worse hangovers than I ever got before and from far less alcohol. Good luck!
  2. Coops, you look FAB!!! SO well done!!! :not_ripe:

    VA VA VA VOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!! :jaw:
  4. Hey cool -- we are practically stat twins. I'm also about 19 away and we've lost at about the same rate.

    Ashamed of WLS?

I didn't tell my family until well after the fact, and beforehand just my husband and a few close friends knew. I'm not at all ashamed, but I keep almost everything personal very close to the chest because of professional reasons. And "easy way out"? SO WHAT? LOL. I think the 'easy way out' is awesome, and is exactly what clever people do in all sorts of situations, to save time, money, effort, frustration, failure, etc.
  6. Look, I'm not telling ANYONE to be like me, I'm very, very bad. I don't work out, I hate the gym, I do tend to walk quite a bit, but not on a x-mile WALK, just everyday walking around town and to work and stuff. I have eaten above 1000 cals per day since I could get that much in, maybe two months post-op? And I'm now between 1100-1400 per day all the time, with a few "days off" here and there where I eat what I want to. I've had stalls, the longest was nearly two months. But what's the point in panicking? Anxiety and stress DO NOT BURN CALORIES (the opposite, in my opinion). So, just keep doing what your program calls for and eventually things move again, and they do go more slowly the closer you get to goal. I don't believe in 'shocking' your body or making funky changes to zap a stall, I believe in being slow and steady and just keep. on. going. And don't get panicky and lose sight of what you're doing here, which is ROCKING YOUR SLEEVES!!! Believe, people -- BELIEVE. It works!!! Good luck everyone!! <3 <3 <3 :-)
  7. I stalled big time at six months, but then at eight I started losing again. Just hang in there and keep with your program and it will keep working, you just have to be in it for the long haul! You can do it!! :smile1:
  8. My hunger never went away, but it's totally manageable. I'm actually glad to have kept my appetite so that I didn't get carried away with not eating.
  9. You look great! Your stomach is so FLAT!! :-)
  10. One of the main reasons we have to drink so much, is because people with normal stomachs/diets get much of the liquid they need from food. Reduced food=increased need to take in liquids to supplement. I was also told one of the reason for not drinking while you eat is because the liquid will fill up space that you need for food, since you can't get much in. But I suppose it can also wash food through more quickly as well?

Is 8 months out too late?

I totally agree, and I'm also a major skeptic when it comes to woo-woo stuff. I don't have a hypnotist, I've only been using a hypnotically written book that comes with a CD that I use, I can't believe the difference it makes. This is the book that I love. This is another one my friend swears by. Highly recommend!
  13. Sounds like you're doing great!! Keep it up! Also, my hair loss started at 3.5 months out, and really slowed down over the past month or two. It does end...

Is 8 months out too late?

I'm just eight months out myself. I don't think it's over at all! I stalled for a couple of months, but recently started losing again. And I am NOT recommending anyone follow my example, but I don't do the gym at all (for several good reasons), so the only exercise I get is walking (quite a bit). You can do less than ideal things and still lose weight, so don't lose heart!! You've been doing awesome, you just need to believe in yourself.

    Weightloss Expectations

I'm coming up on eight months out and about 80lb loss, so I've lost 80% excess in eight months. I THINK I want to get to 140 lb, but I might stick around 150 if I start looking too skinny or something.

    Hair Loss Finish Line?

So weird how different bodies react. My hair is super thin now too, but it's gone much curlier and drier than it used to be.
  19. No way! I think you look fab and very youthful, truly. And I dig the fascinator and you are rocking that dress with it!
  20. My program doesn't (and won't) recommend calorie intakes, the focus is on getting protein and nutrition from food as early post-op as possible. I do track my calories and protein on fitness pal, and I'm usually in the 1200 cal range at nearly 8 months out. I have been 1000+ since a month or two after surgery.

    Gastric Sleeve Nightmare V.2.0

Ugh, what a nightmare! I'm so sorry to hear of all these complications and pain and discouragement. I REALLY hope you will start to truly improve soon and feel better. Hang in there, your attitude is great!!
  22. I'm close to eight months out, never lost my hunger at all from the surgery. So I've had to learn how to do this wee tummy with a big hungry appetite. Not head hunger (I think I finally figured out what that is though), not acid (PPIs faithfully), not lack of liquid (2-3L per day), etc. Just hungry. All I can say is, you can still totally do this with your appetite intact. Even if you're super hungry, a little bit will still fill you up -- ultimately, that's what makes the difference for me. I also don't work out, though I walk quite a bit. Good luck!

    I'll show you mine... (LBD's)

Awesome dress, you look great! Congrats on the 150s, hope to get there some day too.
  24. Oh you look GREAT!! Really amazing difference, like two different people in those pictures. I do have some terrible (TERRIBLE) arms and the GD turkey wattle neck (boo hoo), but most other areas are doing okay (touch wood...).
