I think everyone is right that many just stop posting unless they are having difficulty. I am absolutely ecstatic about my weight loss. I went in surgery 80 or so pounds overweight. That was Dec 06. I am proud to say that I now weigh 176 and have 26 pounds to go to meet my drs goal and about 50 to go to meet my personal goal. It took about to months before I began to lose but as soon as I had my second fill things reaaly began to look up! The lapband is great and worth every penny. I'd choose it again in a heartbeat!!!

Okay every one, some people have been telling me that I was probably too tight. Here is the thang. I DONT CARE. I lost 13 pounds in the last 6 weeks. Let me be over tight. Honestly I think most of my problem is eating too fast. once you PB a few times you learn to eat slooowww. I gained a pound of muscle and lost 13 pounds. So what if I just started losing since February. That makes it 21 pounds since march21. i am proud. I didn't stay the same or gain. I lost. I am happy. overfill me some more if that is what is going on. i am just glad to see his scales go down. I dont get this: feb 26, every scale I got on said i had lost 10-15 pounds the dr scales said I lost 2. Today I just knew he was going to tell me I gained or stayed the same because scales have been reading 5 pounds of weight loss. his scales said 13 pounds. It almost balances out but just doesn't make any sense. newayz just thought I would let someone know.

My protein comes from 1-2 slimfasts and 4 peanut butter cracker. sometimes I can only eat 2 of the 6. I could hold 1/2 pk of peanuts before this last fill. but those days are long gone. Does anyone have a problem with crystal light. Until this last fill that is what I drank and a gallon of water/ day. Now since I had the fill, it feels like the crystal light is thick and harder to get down. It doesn't make sense because it basicly is only just flavored water. I am thinking if I am too tight and my body is doing the stavation thing that I used to put it through, eventually it will get the point that I m not budgin and I will eventually start losing. I am getting the low end of protein, maybe I am just feeling self pity. I'll get it down and deal with it somehow. The dr scales are just jackin with me because 5 differend scale read that I have lost more than what my dr says. </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I may be able to get a few bites in for dinner. I have more head hunger. I want food that I know won't agree with me or I just plain shouldn't have. I can't hold milk shakes or ice cream down. My weight is barely even wanting to budge. I think I may be too tight, but I don't want to have a unfill because i will just get fills later and to me that just defeats the purpose. Anyway I really would bet that you are swollen. With any surgery you have, you would be surprised of how much swelling goes on. I have had drs to tell me that it was in my head basicly but women know their bodies and know when something is bloated or swollen. Drs don't always know everything is my experience. Do many people lose their voice when to tight? Maybe I m not to tight after all. I just think it is frustrating when my body thinks Im starving myself and I don't even lose a pound. Do you like campbells chick noodle or ramen noodles, I can sometimes eat angel hair spag with easy sauce. I can eat nachoes w/o the chips. lol I drink alot of salsa. I can eat 1 vienne. I can't do meat or bread. It just isn't happening. I don't even try anything deepfried any more. I can do mashed potatoes and gravy or sometimes a cheese omelet. So when were you banded? My first c-section i stayed swollen longer than my second surgery. I am taking it that this was your first c- section right. which dr wanted you to come in? obgyn or lap band surgeon? Don't worry about weight yet. You just had a baby. let your body heal from that completely, you aren't even six weeks out yet. I seriously doubt that the band has slipped. I have fills and can't lose and was worried about slippage until my dr. reassured me that if it slips, YOU WILL KNOW. You can't hold anything, not even Water , most of the time if you have slippage. When you have a c-sec alot is cut on and swells. the swelling for me lasted 3-4 weeks. Enjoy your new bundle of joy, heal from giving birth and relax. best of luck. healing from a c-section takes weeks not days, sweetie. you will do fine. A couple of you mentioned that you aren't losing the way you want. Well, at least you are losing. I wish I could say that. It is so depressing!!! I know I have lost inches, but the doctor scales said I have only lost 4 pounds. This is what gets me. I started out a size 22-24, I am now in 18-20, but I have only lost 4 pounds. Now according to every scale I get on even other dr scales it says I have lost 20-25 pounds. My body is shrinking but the pounds still want to linger. Everyone I know keeps saying they can tell I am losing but then asking about how much weight I have lost and it is embarrassing to say 4-6 pounds. I drink so much Water everyday. I don't exercise much maybe a mile walking every other day. I can only eat about 1 or 2 bites most days. Once about every other week I may be able to eat a small meal. Maybe my body just wants to stay in staration mode. Can anyone explain how one loses clothes size (inches) and have no weight loss. I really need to understand that , so I don't go on a sweets binge and wallow in depression. </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Is it supposed to hurt this much?
WCchunkygal replied to revolution's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hurt for a bit over a week. Have you tried laying on the opposite side of the port on or against a pillow. That helped me loads. My soreness of the port just eased really well about 10 days ago. I had surgery on Dec 13th. I just had my first fill, and can tell that it is helping. Finally I might start losing something other than inches. PHEW Thank God! :clap2: -
6 Freaking Months!??!
WCchunkygal replied to margo281's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to a seminar Sept 29, my doctors filed my insurance (after I supplied them with my medical history, psych eval, and dr referral) I was approved November26th and had my surgery Dec 13. So six months? I would scout out a different dr. If you are close to Texarkana use Heiker and Keilin. If your in Dallas I can find out who did my aunts. To me six months is rediculous, unless there are other factors in the equation. Good Luck!!! -

I came out of surgery thinking that my new stoma was just 4 oz and thought I had already screwed my band up, stretched it out or something because I could eat more than a jar of baby food. :hungry: This is the thing that I get from everyone at the support meetings: After you heal your band is only around your stomach. Only after you begin having fills, sometimes 2 or 3, is when you can really tell that the band has made your stomach smaller hence finally the fullness. The doctor told me that he wasn't worried about so much about losing weight until after I have had 2 maybe the third fill. When I called the nurse, because I was concerned because I could eat more than the baby jar and still hold some because of lack of food, she just got on to me saying "stop at a 1/4 cup at each sitting. The band is a TOOL" not a miracle worker. My thinking is this, for the money I dished out this banding better work because otherwise, I could have done it with old fashioned willpower. I've done it before. The nurse ticked me off needless to say. I hope this info helps you understand that the fills are the secret to the fullness;) WCchunkygal </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

My starting weight was 246. I am at 234 which I have been stuck on for a month. My doctor wants me to weigh 150. I am hoping to shoot for 130.:huggie: I go for my first fill Monday, Jan 15. I had so many questions before I found this forum. I had convinced myself that I stretched my band or it came lose. I feel like I am having to do all this alone and the band is pointless. I have to choose not too eat more. It really isn't that I am full, I am just dieting. I suppose I am just healing. I thought the band would make me feel full right off the bat. Then everyone says that the fills are what make the difference. I will just wait and see how it goes. My thoughts were this surgery is suppose to work make me feel full faster, I feel the same as pre-op. I take that back. I can't eat steak (not even 2 sm. bites or pizza crust) It hurts. Does anyone else hiccup everytime you eat? If I am not hiccuping, I'm burping.
