Feeling TOO good after surgery?
sherrypep replied to mamamareli's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Had a band to sleeve revision and hiatel hernia repair Monday and I feel great too. Do not get me wrong I am sore and bloated with gas but I thought it would be much much worse. I am also walking a lot and not taking pain pills during the day. I have times where I have to rest for a bit because I feel a little dizzy and weak but I think this is from being on liquids and having low sugar. Keep up the good work its only up hill from here! -
I had a revision from band to sleeve on Monday as well as a hiatel hernia repaired. It definately gets better. I feel very good just blown up with air and gas and a little sore. I was in the hospital for 3 days and when I got home I was so much more comfortable. I am barely even taking pain pills, only at night. You will be fine, just hang in there!

Hi I had my surgery on Monday band to sleeve revision as well as a hiatal hernia repaired. It sure sounds like gas pains because I had them too. I can tell you today day 5 I feel so much better. I have been walking a lot and taking meds for nausia and heartburn as well as gas X. I am on clear liquids the first week and have been doing my best but I havn't been getting much protein. I have been sleeping in a semi sitting up/slouching position on my chase lounge on my sofa because sleeping in my bed caused me a lot of pain. Take it easy in a week or so you won't even remember this part!

Revision done on Monday Home today, feel great!
sherrypep posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my revision on MOnday at Lehigh Valley Hospital. I ended up having a hiatal hernia that he repaired while he was in there but everything went great. I had to stay until today because after surgery my bladder always shuts down for 4 or 5 days so the worst part was getting cathed 5 times in the past three days. The pain was not bad at all and I had minimal gass, Just a little sore when I get up and down. I am so happy my band is gone, and ready to start my life being sleeved. -
Where the May sleevers i just got my date!

I was sleeved on Monday and still can not lie flat. I slept on the couch last night and may try the bed propped up tonight. I had no pre op diet and was absolutely fine. They said i was a model patient. I was up and walking within a few hours and the pain was tolerable but the pump made me very itchy. The only thing is I havent had a bowl movement since like Saturday and I am thinking of taking something. I am not eating anything except drinking my fluids at this point so there is not so much inside me to come out however, I don;t want to wait to long. Hope everyone is doing well and those yet to come you will do great. It really hasn't been bad at all! -
Congrats! I was sleeved Monday but came home today due to a urinary retention issue. I too fell great just a bit sore. Good luck to all my fellow newbies.

Revision on May 6th no pre-op liquid diet.
sherrypep posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am having my revision on May 6th and I am really really nervous. I have no pre-op diet which I found weird. When banded 12/21/11 I had to eat a high protein no carb diet but not a liquid diet. I am wondering if it is because I am down to low 160's and eat mostly protein already. Also, I went from diabetic to low sugar issues and I am wondering if sugar will make me ill after the revision. It did not after the band. Even eating a small amount of popsicles, juice or jello with sugar will keep my sugar a bit more stable. I no they say sugar free but I get sick if my sugar gets too low. Has anyone else had or heard of this from anyone else? -
I am going in for my revision tomorrow. I am not to nervous but that will change when I get to the hospital. I don't have to be there till 8:30 which means my surgery will be late since my Dr. is always 2 hours behind. That will be the hard part because by 11 I will be starving and my sugar will drop. I am really excited to get this band out though wondering if the pain factor will be double since they are dong two procedures at once. I will keep you all posted on how it goes.

Low BMI but want revision
sherrypep replied to Purplrose323's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am having a revision on Monday after being banded on 12/21/11. My band has a slow leak, and I have reflux, heart burn, and throwing up if this band is tightened at all. My BMI is only about 29 but my insurance approved it right away. I am having my revision on Monday and can't wait to get that band out of me. Best of luck with your decision. -
I do not but I usually take something anyway. After the band it wasn't pleasant the first few times so I like to be empty atleast for the first few days.

Surgery Monday May 6th - anxious and nervous!
sherrypep replied to dl663's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel your pain I am also on Monday. I was doing great until today and the nerves are starting to hit. I am sure we will both be fine. I am having a revision from the band to sleeve. Good luck! -
Glad you are home and doing well. I go in for my revision on Monday and I am starting to get very nervous. Why did you have a tube down you nose? I did not have that for the band and don't think I get that with the sleeve surgery either? How is the pain factor?

I would call your doctor right away. A fever can be a sign of some sort of infection. I have never heard of anyone having a fever afterwards.

Losing will power fast

Hang in there. It really bothered me after my band when my family did that during my post op. I learned to just get out of the room and keep busy. Before you know it you will be able to munch on things too, although I would be a bit healthier than chips, lol! I am getting revised on 5/6 and don't look forward to going through it all again. But I know before long I will look back and laugh and be so happy I did it! Best of Luck. -

May 6th at Lehigh Valley Hospital with Dr. Boorse. Did pre-admissions today and all set to go. Very nervous but excited to get this band out of me! -
Dr. Boorse is doing mine. I met with him last week to ask all my questions. However, at this point I don't think anything will ease my mind. I am so nervous about the whole thing I have been tempted to cancel a few times do to cold feet.

Having mine at Lehigh Valley on May 6th. I wish you the best of luck. I am soooo nervous. The doctor was telling me that the revision was a little more complicated and it was giving me cold feet also.

My band needs revision. Thinking about the sleeve....
sherrypep replied to marfar7's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi, I am having my revision on May 6th. I am 162 pounds and have had my band for about 16 months and it has been pretty rocky. I have a slow leak which caused them to fill the band so much I couldn't hold down water and this went on for months. I was throwing up constantly, woke up crying with heartburn in the night, and feel all my food go down no matter how much I chew. I was worried about losing too much weight and looking sick, however, my doctor and others in this situation assure me that your body plateaus at a certain weight and will stop or slow down. He told me I may loose another 20-25 pounds which is ok by me. I will take the chance to be rid of this discomfort. Good luck with you decision.
