    Question

Hi, I had my lap band done in 12/21/11 and although I lost 45 pounds out of my 75 I regretted that I did not have the sleeve. I had nothing with problems with it. I had my revision to sleeve on May 6th and feel great. I battled with the decision for two years before I got the nerver to really do it. My problem wasn't so much the weight but diabetes and other comorbities. I am so happy that I made the decision to go through with it. I eat healthier now, and feel great. Loosing 30 pounds is great you should be proud of yourself. Good luck with your decision.

    I cant even begin....

    That is awesome, congrats!
  3. I am post-op May 6th and was also very very dizzy. I think it was a combo of my blood pressure being very low from the pain meds and my sugar fluctuating. I started feeling better yesterday so hopefully you will soon too! Hang in there.
  4. Im so sorry to hear about your complications. Make sure you keep up with this with your doctor. I am only 6 days out and it sounds like I can drink and eat more than you. Best of luck I will send good wishes your way.

    Pre-op Diet With Revision?

I am post op May 6th and did not have a liquid diet. Since I had the band I did not eat much before anyway but I did indulge in a few favorites the week or two before I must admit. You should eat light the day before so you don't have a whole lot in your belly but you will be fine. I didnt have one for my band either. Best of luck you will do great!

    3 days Post-Op & Cold

Since my band and now revision I am always cold. My husband is dying of heat and I have a sweatshirt on, lol! This seems to be a normal thing with bariatric patients.
  7. Rigatta chesse with a little sauce heated up is delicious. Also weight control maple oatmeal only has 1 gram of sugar and you can use low fat milk or water. Good luck.

    Sports Bras!

Sleeved May 6th and still going without.... Just wearing baggy cloths lol!
  9. Had my revision done on Monday and I feel great! I had all your fears as well. My doctor found a small hiatal hernia and sewed it up but said my band did little damage, though I only had it in for 16 months. It was so much easier than I thought, no worse than the band surgery. I am off pain meds, walking a lot, and just still blown up with so much gas which I can't pass that I gained weight. You will be fine and look back in a few months so happy with your decision. The band never gave me anything but issues.

    Feeling really scared

I am post op May 6th and I almost cancelled I was so scared, even though I had band surgery in 12/11. It was so much easier than I thought it would be. You will be fine, I think cold feet are normal. You will be looking back in a few months so thankful you went through with it.

    Tmi maybe

I am post op May 6th and havn't gone in 8 days. Getting worried too. I feel your pain.
  13. I can't stand protein shakes and I am pre op May 6th. I actually bought some protein shots that are in test tubes 2.9oz each and have 25 grams of protein in each. They are pricey almost 3 bucks each but I can actually tolerate the taste is I sip it over an hour and the protein has really been helping me with my energy level.

    3 days out...

I am also post op May 6th and it really does get better. I haven't taken any pain meds since Friday and I can move around without any pain and little soreness. You will get through it. Take the pain meds to help you for now and walk when you can and try and get your liquids in. I bet in a few days you will be feeling so much better.
  15. Gass X strips work really well. I'm having the same issue and I walk walk walk and it is still gassy and bloated. It will pass. Revision done on May 6th, 2013

    Foods!

fat free/low fat rigatta cheese with a little sauce and fat free mozerella melted in was divine when i had my band and went through this. I still have a week before these foods but its not so bad because I think I really didnt eat much with the band so my body was more used to it!

    Sleeved on thursday

I was sleeved monday and my stomach is still bloated and swollen. When I had the band done it took a few weeks for mine to go down. It is uncomfortable but I walk, take Gas X, and still mine is big. Hang in there.

    I am worried

I was like that with my band but with this revision to sleeve have no hunger. It was rough and I had to get through it, but before you know it your on a more regular diet, getting more protein, and the hunger gets better. My stomach still gurgled when I went to long with eating but the first month was horrible. Hang in there.
  24. Hi all, I am 5 days post op and feel great, Off pain pills and walking a lot, getting about 30-40 ounces of liquid in. Taking gass X and meds they gave me for heart burn. Had a band to sleeve revision and small hiatal hernia repair. My stomach looks like I am 5 months pregnant and I actually gained about 8 pounds which has gone down about 3 pounds since coming home, which I think is water weight because I was in the hospital for 3 days with iv. How long is the average until your stomach goes back down?
