    About to revise! Advice pls!

Had my revision about 3 months ago and it was easy for me compared to the band. I had very little pain, just some soreness and was back to my normal routine without the lifting a week after. I was on clear liquids for one week, whole, liquids for one week, pureed food for two weeks, and than soft to regular as tolerated. I can say that now three months out I can eat anything in small amounts. I did suffer severe nausea after the sleeve from about 4 weeks till about 7 weeks. I took some prescription meds and got through it and now it's pretty much gone. I have not thrown up once with the sleeve which I did quite often with the band. I was 164.5 when I had my revision and now three months later I am about 139. I feel great, I look great, and I am so happy I got rid of that band! You will do great. Best of luck.

What foods do you no longer like?

Peanut butter makes me nauseous now and so does the smell of coffee.
  3. I am three months out and have been eating chicken at least 5 times a week since about 6-8 weeks out. Even before that I had a tiny bit of chicken salad and have never had a problem. I guess everyone is different but I make chicken so many different ways from on my salad or with veggies for dinner.

What to expect? Band to Sleeve on August 9

I had my band on 12/21/11 and had it removed and revised to the sleeve on May 6, 2013 due to many complications with the band I was 206.5 when I got the band and 164.5 when I had it revised. I am now 3 months out on Monday and have lost 27 pounds. I feel great and don't regret my decision at all. The revision surgery was a cinch for me with no pain just a lot of soreness and it took awhile for me to get my energy back. The post-op diet was not problem because I wasn't eating a whole lot with the band. I can eat just about anything now in small portions. I eat about 3 ounces of meat/protein and a scoop of veggies and usually can't eat the carbs except a tiny bit once in awhile. I didn't think I would ever eat pizza again and even had a small slice a week or so ago. I have not thrown up once with the sleeve, however, if something doesn't agree with my new belly I do get a stomach ache about 20 minutes after eating and have had diahrea quite a few times. You will do great! Best of luck
  5. When I went in for the first time Dec 2011 the lapband was the newest best thing. I was a lightweight at 206 but had diabetes and a bunch of other stuff. I wish the Dr. would have went over my options more with me because if I knew then what I know now post revision May 6th to the sleeve my journey would have been a lot easier. Best of luck!
  6. I am 10 weeks out and have lost 25 pounds. Almost at goal!

    So depressed

Hang in there it will get better. Your body is still healing and you are weak from not eating/drinking like you used to. Sometimes it takes awhile to get back to yourself. I am 10 weeks post revision and had a rough first month with nausea and eating/drinking. Now I feel pretty much like my old self. Don't push yourself to hard and just think in a few months you'll be looking at the new sexier you and thinking "thank god i did this"

    Purée ideas

My favorite was rigatta cheese with a drop of marinara sauce and low fat mozerella on top.
  9. I had no preop liquid diet. Post op i was on clear liquids for 5 days than full liquids for 7 days and than pureed for 7 days and than soft as tolerated. I have lost 25 pounds since my revison on 5/6.
  10. I am 9 weeks post revision tomorrow and feel great. No more throwing up and pain when eating. For me the sleeve surgery was much easier than the band surgery. I was up and about 5 days post op and back to normal activity minus the lifting by 7 days. I had no pain just soreness and the worse thing for me was no bowl movement for 12 days lol! You will do great!

    Vacation

Thanks just got back from vacation and actually lost a pound or two while everyone else gained 4 or 5 lol!
  12. I am 9 weeks post revision tomorrow and I am allowed to eat anything as tolerated. I have not thrown up once which I did quite often with the band, however, I do get a stomach ache and occasional diahrea if something doesn't agree with my new tummy. I think everyone is different but I have had problems with anything made with heavy cream like soups, ice cream, etc... Besides that I can eat about 4-6 ounces of food including fruit and veggies. Best of luck!

    nauseated

I had severe nausea from about 3 weeks to 7 weeks. Took prescriptions from my doc but they didnt help much. Finally went away fro the most part at 9 weeks. I would suck on peppermint sugar free life safers. It helped me but that could just be a fluke.
  14. I was a 38DD before band and now sleeve. I am down 65 pounds and now a 34 C.

    Vacation

I am in Ocean City MD right now and was getting a bit depressed. I am nine weeks out and I am ok to eat anything as tolerated. However, after a few bites I am full and everyone is eating sooo much it's sickening. I tried a little ice cream the other night and had a bad stomach ache. It is worth the new healthier me, but I think its normal to get a little down sometimes. Good luck to you all!

    Any regrets?

Don't regret it at all! Nine weeks out.
  17. I am almost 10 weeks out and have not vomited even once. I used to get stuck and vomit all the time with the band. I have suffered severe nausea post op and was on meds for awhile but now it seems to be getting better. I am glad I made the decision to get the band out.

    Protein shots

I used protein shots for the first two weeks because I had a problem drinking shakes. They are very sweet but I sipped them slowly The down side was mine were almost 3 bucks a piece.

    I feel completely lost!

Hi, I can relate to all these stories. I only had my band for 16 months but had all kinds of problems. My Dr did every test and could not find a problem. My band even lost 4-5cc's of fill on a few occasions. I vomited all the time and had discomfort with everything I ate. My insurance approved the removal with revision due to severe gerd and band slip even though there was not proof of a slip. I am almost 8 weeks out and feel soooo much better than with the band. I am eating better with no pain, occasional stomach ache, and I feel great. I had a low BMI at revision I was 164.5 now down to 144. Best of luck I will send good prayers your way!

Can't sleep. I hate this band.

Best of luck. Had my revision on May 6th due to Band issues and I feel great. So happy the band is out.

    Complications ?

My revison was May 6th and went absolutely perfect. I feel a million times better having the band out of me and I have no pain and vomiting when I eat. My only problem this far is very strong bouts of neausia for the past few weeks. Just comes and goes. Been taking acid reducer and nausea med and feeling a bit better. I am hoping this will just pass. Maybe I am not drinking enough fluids.

I am seven weeks Monday and have been craving pizza for weeks. Not enough to try it though lol! Just looking at all that grease when my kids eat it makes me nauseous.
