    Days 14, 15 and 16 of Pre-Op Diet

I have been very good the last three days. Drinking my shakes and eating what I am supposed to for the most part. Today I called my patient advocate Rachel to get some details on my surgery for May 2nd. Insurance is covering the surgery and I pay $5500.00 which is 24 payments of $260.00 every month starting in June for the next 2 years. And guess what they had a opening for this Monday . So surgerygot moved up a week and it is going to be in 4 days. I am so excited. I lost 14.6 pds since April 4th. I am going to go tonight and get my supplies and get my house ready for Easter and my new life. Please have me in your prayers on Monday April 25th.

    Days 11,12,and 13 of Pre-Op Diet

Ok so this weekend was crazy. I made some bad choices when it comes to food. We were running everywhere and I lost my train of thought. I am not even going to say what I ate because its to embarassing. I just weight in today and I gained a pound. I am feeling really down right now and I can't even bring myself to talk about it. 2 weeks until surgery I hope I can make my goal.

    Day 10 Pre-op Diet

Yesterday I was so not interested in my shakes. I only drank half for breakfast and half for lunch. Needless to say I was starving yesterday afternoon. I cooked a whole chicken in the crockpot all day and it was calling my name when I got home. LOL Well I had 6oz of breast meat and 1 cup of chicken stuffing. It was pretty filling. Last night I was feeling very empty so I had a small bowl of mini wheats and 2% milk. I went a little over my calories. But my carbs were high becasue of the stuffing. I am struggling so much with this diet. I am going to weight in agian today so hopefully I am still on track to losing weight. I have lost about 10 pounds so I still have 10 pounds to go till surgery and I have 2 weeks so I think It is very doable. I am trying to keep strong.

Day 9 of Pre -Op Diet

These shakes are getting so gross. But I did well yesterday. Dinner was 4oz of Ground Sirlion, steamed green beans, 1/2 scalloped potatoes. I had a small dairy queen dipped cone for snack last night and man did I pay for that. Just the ice cream not the cone. I was still within my calorie range and yesterday I weight in at 379.4. So I am still losing weight. But I was running back and forth to the bathroom for like 2 hours last night. I haven't had much dairy these last couple weeks and it torn my stomach up. I have learned my lesson. Today I feel pretty good. I think I am skiping class tonight so I can grocery shop and get a walk in before dinner.

    Day 8 Pre-Op of Diet

Yesterday went awesome. I got out walking a few times yesterday. Had my shakes for breakfast and lunch. Drink lots of water. Dinner was 6 oz chicken breast, steamed veggies, and a little rice. Had an apple with 2 tbsp of peanut butter for snack last night. I felt really good when I got up this morning. I think going to school last night really helped me keep my mind on track. I need to start thinking about the stuff I will be able to do when I am thin. And not focus on the stuff I can't have now to get there.

    Day 7 Pre-Op Diet

Another Bad Day. I was doing good all day had my shakes for breakfst and lunch. Walked to work. Had 2 hard boiled eggs for snack in between shakes. Had leftover turkey breast with some salsa. Lots of water. Then late last night my husband again starts bugging me that he is hungry. He wants pizza. I denyed him pizza and then he started with Tacos so I gave in. I ate 4 DQ tacos with taco sauce and 1 foot long chili cheese coney. Oh and another cupcake. Whats wrong with me? I do great all day and then I go crazy just before bed. I know I had several calories leftover for the day but I really over did it. I think my weakness is being home. Tonight I have class so hopefully I won't be tempted. I weighed in today and I haven't lost anymore weight but fortunately I haven't gained any but if I keep going like this it won't be long till it bites me in the butt. My Weight was 381.4. GNC Weight 3 days ago was 380.9. But different scales.

    Day 6 of Pre-Op Diet

OK yesterday was a bad day. I woke up at 8:45am had my shake was feeling really good. Then my husband and his family wanted to go to breakfast at IHOP. I ate too much and I had 2 cupcakes at a Easter party last night. Dinner was shells and cheese with a hot dog and french fries. I am so disappointed with myself. I am feeling like crap and I just can't beleive that I did that to all my hard work during the week. Hoping to hope back on the wagon today.

    Day 4 of Pre-Op Diet

This morning it was muggy outside so I talked myself into not walking to work. It didn't help that I started my monthly friend and I am feeling crappy. I am having my shake for breakfast. A tbsp of peanut butter as a snack in about an hour. Shake for lunch . And another tbsp of peanut butter for snack. Dinner is leftover lean turkey breast (which actually tastes like chicken) and salad w/ 2 tbsp of Kraft Lite dressing. This weekend is coming up fas I hope I can keep up with my schedule. Maybe I need to set my clock and go for a walk in the early morning. Then have a shake and clean the house. At least that will keep me motivated.

    Day 3 of Pre-Op Diet

Yeah! I weighed in today and lost 4 pds I am now 385. This is a good start only 3 days into diet and already lost 4 pds. Only 16 more to go before surgery. I can do it. I have faith. Diet was same as yesterday except I changed my dinner to 6 oz of lean turkey breast instead of chicken. Had 3 oz of salad with 2 tbsp Kraft Lite Parmesaen Asiago Vinegrete dressing. Late last night I was going out of my mind I felt like I wasn't full and content. I talked myself into some chips and dip but I only had the suggested servings and I added it in with my calories for the day. I was still under 1200 so I felt better afterwards. I don't know why at night I always have to feel like I have eaten something normal. But my choices are always that good. I really wanted a hot dog from sonic but I was good and talked myself out of it. Then I had to go and do this.

    Day 2 of Pre-Op Diet

I had a good day today. Noticed I had some extra energy. Had my protein shake for Breakfast and lunch. I was really hungry around dinner time but I fought most temptations. I had 6oz chicken and 1 cup of broccoli and a small apple. But I did have 3 cookies and I was kicking myself right after. I also decided to start walking to and from work and taking the stairs as many times as I can.I also have to watch that I am getting enough calories in for the day. First day only had 399 calories that is really bad. I was really tired and couldn't wait to go to bed. I had 890 today so that is a little better. Have to add a snack in between shakes to offset calories. probably a tbs of peanut butter.

    EGD April 4th 2011

I need an EGD to see if I have a hiatal hernia which can be repaired during the lapband surgery. An EGD is where they put you to sleep and stick a tube with a tiny camera down your throat into your stomach to take pictures. My EGD appointment went fantastic. I have OSA or Obstructive sleep apnea and I was asked to bring my CPAP machine but was told when I got there that they don't use it unless they need it. Procedure only takes 10 minutes. Got checked in at 8:00am, signed a few papers, Waited maybe 10 mins, and Got called back. Met my nurse who asked me a bunch of easy questions, checked my stats, went over my bloodwork and got my set up to change into a surgical gown. Oh and you also have to pee in a cup. Then they started my IV. Which was also very quick and painless. The Doctor came in and talked to me about the procedure he also did my pre-op consultation for the actually surgery and the risks that are associated. Then he nurses came back and whisked me away to the operating room. The technician was cracking jokes and told me that they had to spray this nasty tasting spray into the back of my throat but he said it smelled like bananas. I felt a warm feeling and then.............I woke up and they were talking to me asking how I felt and I honestly was upset that they had woke me up because I was having a great dream. I felt great never even knew anything had happened. The unhooked me and I got dressed. They offered me some herbal tea. My husband came in and the doctor came in and said that I did have a hiatal hernia and my patient advocate came in to schedule my surgery and then they discharged me and wheeled me to the car. After that I had a little sore throat but I was very confident that the surgery was going to be a breeze.

    Free Consultation March 7th 2011

My free consulation at True Results was on March 7th 2011. My first impression of the office and staff was very nice. The staff was very kind and courteous. I was weighted in at 389 and measured, I spoke with a Patient advocate who will help me through the whole process. They gave me a packet of information and brought in a fake stomach and band as a visual aid. They explained the insurance and financial aspects of the surgery. They also informed me that I can go ahead and get the pre-op tests done that day. I had my EKG, Dietary consultation, and blood work done right there in the office. A nurse came in to check my temp, heart and lungs, and also check out my stomach. I left with no questions unanswered and felt pretty good about the whole thing. I have a history of reflux so they scheduled me for an EGD. My EGD Appt was for April 4th.
