Having a hard time fitting my brain in my new body
chilo1 replied to Shanny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A very moving story and I'm glad you managed to make desicions in life, about your sexuality and now about your weight. I can see where you're coming from. I've been overweight since I was 10 on and off. At my 41 years I decided to have surgery and it was the best desicion ever. I'm still scared though. I haven't reached target yet but I feel very well phsically and I think I look "normal" weightwise. Some times I still can't believe its me when I look in the mirror or when I see my reflection. I'm', a size 12 UK now, I used to be a 20. I still tend to buy baggy tops, becuase I have a sagggy tummy. Sometimes I think that I'm still fat and then look at myself and remeber I'm not. Even at 7 1/2 months out I feel funny. I do hope I get used to it soon because I don't ever want to be fat again! -
Hey Globetrotter I was wondering about you! Glad your moving on and settling in your new life. Your summer dress sounds lovely, good luck!

I am a bit selfish, and at the same time it does the world of good to my family, but as much as possible I avoid fast food in the house now. My husband had a few lbs to lose and he has lost around 10 since I got sleeved, and my girls have a healthier diet as well now. But when you can't avoid it I agree, go to your room to avoid the smell an d don't watch them eat!

When did you add COFFEE back to your diet?
chilo1 replied to SinDLou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed coffee straight away, as soon as I could get fluids in! -

How do you stop the weight loss!
chilo1 replied to YOLANDA240's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
True, I didn't realise this. I'm your same height and am now around 157 lbs (need to weigh in tommorow) and I still have around 16 lbs to lose to be a normal BMI, your BMI is 30,9 whice is still in the obese range??? -

WINE....when and how much
chilo1 replied to 2bslimkim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm exactly the same and I couldn't even bear the thought of not drinking ever again. At 3 months out I had my first glass of wine, and since then I enjoy wine (mainly rose because red wine now seems a bit to "strong") or other drinks(i love cokctails even though they are very high in calories) nearly every weekend. It's hard at least for me to have wine with a meal at this point, because if I do I can't eat, so I have a glass before and/or after, but I'm fine with that for the time being. I have to say my weight loss is much slower than a lot of people on here, but I decided I'd rather have my social life and risk losing a bit slower. I LOVE my sleeve, it has helped and is still helping me to learn to eat and drink in moderation -
You know you've been sleeved when.....
chilo1 replied to 2bslimkim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know you've been sleeved when your 42nd birthday is coming up and you can't wait to go out for a meal and a few drinks with your friends, and for the 1st time since your 9th birthday you feel fabulous and not fat and old and frumpy and forty but actually excited that it's going to be your birthday!! I HEART my sleeve!! -
25 reasons for sleeve surgery
chilo1 replied to lash44's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Not easy at all, apart from what everybody else said I'd like to say that I still feel bad sometimes and even guilty of having put my family through this ordeal of having 85% of my stomach taken out. We put on hold buying our house for me to have this operation, and my mum flew halfway round the world to come and look after my children while my husband was with me when I had the operation. I actually think it was one the best desicions of my life and I have never had any regrets! -
This is kind of EMBARRASSING for me
chilo1 replied to Weightbgone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was worried about the same, and I told the nurse she said not to worry and I woke up with a huge pad inbetween my legs, the nurse told me it was just in case, no big deal from them! -
Just saw your new fotos, you look fantastic! I realised as well what a difference 8 lbs make, I'm def going to try hard to lose these last 15 lbs after having seen your pics, thanks for sharing!

Buying Clothes While Loosing Weight?
chilo1 replied to MommyTawnie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A bought myself a few pair of jeans and leggings from the sales, and I bought them a size smaller so now they fit. I find leggings very useful and flattering, and I use them with boots and those biggish tops that everbody's using now. I have been wearing the same leggings for months .I used to hate leggings but now that I can show off my slimmer legs I love them! -
Wow you look great, what a huge change!

Thanks for sharing, love it, i think we should get as much fresh fruit and vegetable as we can. It makes me feel fresh and healthy, as opposed to a lot of cheese and processed meat!
