  1. I love shrimps and scallops, and eat them a few times a week. Scallops cooked in a bit of olive oil , pepper and lemon. Shrimp just whatever is available, today I put some shrimps in a pan with chilli, garlic and a bit of white wine, yummy!!
  2. You'll be fine for swimming 8 weeks out, I'm sure!

    Stomach closure???

How amazing Tiff, thanks for sharing!!
  4. If everything goes to plan (no complications) you should be fine by 4 weeks, I don't think they advice you to swim though, I don't remember timeframe for swimming. At 2 weeks out I was feeling perfectly well, my baby got baptised on my 2 week mark, so I did quite a lot actually that early out, I guess it just depends on each individual, good luck
  5. Yep I can relate, I used to sweat loads, even though it's hardly ever hot here in England. Now I stopped sweating, and I get really really cold sometimes, a lot of sleevers experience cold when they start losing weight
  6. I had milk the moment I was allowed liquids in hospital, you'll be fine
  7. Bookleen: today I feel like a total failure to be quite honest. , but tommorrow is another day and we should support each other in this last bit of our journey. I'm angry with myself, because sometimes when I read posts of other people getting to goal or even below goal I get really really angry, I shouldn't though, cause it's all my fault
  8. I'm in the same boat, I want to lose 10 lbs but I keep snacking (nothing too unhealthy or fattening but snacking is a no-no). I'm 10 1/2 months out and I really want to get to goal!!!!!!! So today I'm starting again!

Do People Read the Board Or Search??

Yes it was funny, you made me laugh

    At what point???

According to my surgeon it's round the 6-9 month mark, but it can vary depending on loads of different factors. I had a lowe BMI so I had less to lose but still not at goal at10 1/2 months out, but it's completely my fault, i hate to admit it
  11. That tummy looks a lot like mine, and to be honest I think you will need surgery, because your pecs and your stomach look like they belong to 2 different people! I have already booked my surgery(tummytuck) for december, and will be having it even if I don't get to goal. I exercise a lot now, but the flab around my belly isn't shifting! Just keep doing what your doing cause it's obviously working!!!
  12. Yay Coops!! Little things like this make everything worthwhile
  13. 10 months out and I stopped losing as well, I eat what I like, but I need to get back on track because I want to get to goal.

Low BMI and still having VSG

I had the balloon a few years ago, wouldn't recomend it I lost some weight (around 22 lbs) only to put it all back and then some more after it was taken out. It was a waste of money.

    I feel fat today

Yep I know the feeling, yesterday I was feeling fat, weird as I haven't been this weight for about 8 years!
  19. Oh Coops I totally understand you I'm going through a lot of stress at the moment and without food as my crutch I'm really struggling to cope with it all. Sorry I'm not able to give any great advice at the moment but hang in there. I hope all goes well with your husbands operation, big hugs from gloomy Newcastle

    The POSITIVITY thread:

Great thread! 1) Being able to do different exercise classes in my local gym and LOVING it rather than just going on the bike/treadmill/crosstrainer so boring! 2) Not being "scared" to look at myself in the mirror anymore and actually liking what I see when I do 3) Being able to shop for clothes that I like, rather than just chosing stuff that I can find in my size and will cover me up

    bikini/two piece

I'm sure you'll lose the weight quick enough and you'll be able to wear it, love the detail of the red band under the boobs! I don't have the boobs either anymore, believe me, but it does have built in cups whi ch helps. Whereabouts in Europe are you? I've just seen that we're the same age!

    Old habits die hard

This is so true. I read that same study (I'll see if I can find it and post it) and in the end that's why people whe are constantly on diets put on more weight that a "non-dieter" because they end up eating much more calories than they would have if they'd just eaten the "prohibited" food in the first place!
