    Always been overweight!!!

I haven't been overweight all my life, but yes up and down, my highest weight being around 225 pounds a few months before surgery. In the last few years I have avoided looking at my body in any mirrors, windows or anything that reflected my body. Yesterday I was doing a zumba class and was looking at myself (i used not even look at the mirrors in the gym either) it was a great feeling not to be disgusted of my body anymore, even though I still have about 22 pounds to lose I know I am stil a bit chubby, especially around my tummy, it was and is very emotional for me:P
  2. Coops! How are things?? I've been a bad girl in the last few weeks, trying to get back on track!

MSG - An Obesity Causing Chemical

I completely agree with Tiff ans Susanne, it was the tons of "healthy" stuff I was eating before surgery that was going to convert me into a morbidly obese with all the comorbidities that come with it. A bit of MSG won't hurt my otherwise healthy eating habits

    Nuts

I would at least have beans for the time being, just because of the grazing. I just had some refried beans with melted cheese and 1/4 of a low calorie wrap for dinner

    Updates

Hey girls you're all doing so well! I'm on a stall (self-inflicted) my inlaws visiting from South America and my mother in law is a great cook, so I've been a bit naughty, plus my baby was 1 year old last week so I had some cake, pizza and Baileys They're leaving today so I've strated again hoping to lose at least half a stone before Christmas, so I'm gonna have to be extra good!
  8. Go for the sleeve it's the best thing ever!!
  9. Isn't it a great feeling! I too weigh less than my husband now, and he is big, tall , he used to be a Rugby player! The funniest thing is that he didn't know that I weighed more than him, until now, he was in shock when I told him!
  10. I would recommend you didn't cheat first because of the pain and second you want to lose as much as you can at this stage, good luck!
  11. An incredible journey and congratulations for what you achieved so far!

    Photos

at last I have the courage to put up some before and during pictures, but it fails to upload them, anyone know why??
  16. The first picture is about a month before surgery, the second is my 40th birthday about a year and a half ago and the third is today, 3 months and a bit post surgery (no make up or anything so don't look at the face)
  17. I am 5 4 as well but the lowest I'll be going for is 142 i think, which is about 25 pounds away. God you're losing quickly and you had your surgery after me! What scary death situation???
  18. OMG you're looking fantastic, your close to goal aren't you, at a BMI of 27.5, what BMI are you aiming for??
  19. thanks guys! I'm on the top of a doubledecker bus in london Filosophia!
  20. I'm 3 and a half (almost) months out and lost close to 70% of my excess weight in 3 months. My nut said the same, so, as you say I don't sit eating bread all day, but I eat way more than most people here (sometimes I'll have about 30-40 grs which for me is low, but most of the time I'm near to 80 grs) It's working a treat for me, I have NO cravings whatsoever, and even though I didn't/don't have so much to lose as a lot of people do I'm continuing to lose! So I guess it depends on your body, maybe give it a try?

    Weight Loss - Zero Effort

That's the approach I'm taking now I'm nearly 3 and a half months out. At first I did stick to a "diet" plan, but when I went to my nutritionist she said it was ok once in a while to treat yourself. In the past I always used to cut out everything I liked then binge on it,that's what got me to the situation I was in before surgery. Now that I've lost nearly 70% of my excess weight I treat my self without feeling guilty. Yesterday I went to a friend for lunch, just has carrot and coriander Soup so I had 2 tiny bites of the chocolate cheesecake for dessert, still put every single bite in my calorie count. Good luck to you!

    1 in 200 die ?

As the others above already mentioned the risks of dying of any obesity related disease are much higher then dying of complications of anaesthesia or surgery, don't be afraid, the stress won't do you any good, goos luck!
  23. There goes another "during" picture and now I promise I'll stop until a lose a good 10 pounds more!

    surgery before the Holidays

I agree with what oregondaisy said, BUT i would get it done ASAP!! And you'll be losing instead of gaining over christmas, that's a huge kick start for the beginning of the New Year and your new life! Good luck with whatever desicion you make
