Tiff muffin top will disappear at some point (at least after TT). I'm close to goal but keep changing it, as I stated on another thread somewhere, my surgeon will see me in 3 months again, and even though he will be happy for me to get to 154 (which will put me at a BMI of 26-because I have a big bone structure) I "dared" him that I would get to about 141 pounds that will put me at a BMI of around 24.5. Because of my stubborn nature I will probably try extra hard to reach the lower goal just to prove a point!

Definetly a lot of it is skin, but there is some fat around still, but as Sarah says it is difficult to lose fat around the tummy area especially at this age! I used to be a pear shape until about 8 years ago, when I started to develop a round shape and was on my way to develop Metabolic syndrome (started with insulin resistance) that's one of the reasons I decided to have this surgery, and whatever shape I end up having I will never ever regret having this surgery, rather be thin and have a bit of a belly than being obese as well as having a big belly!

1) Go shopping for clothes I've been wanting to use for years! 2) Go to the beach and feel great in a sexy bathing suit. 3) When I've maintained my goal for nearly a year get a tummy tuck and boob job

Low fat soy milk, I've had it in the past and it's not that bad, I can't give up my skuimmed milk though! Great for people w milk allergies, lactose intolerance and a good source of proteins.

great idea! I have a wrap or tortilla most days with my lunch, with beans cheese and tomatoes and in the grill, you can also buy the weight watchers or other lower calorie ones, I'm def trying that as of tommorrow, with some tomato sauce to make it tast like real pizza!

How did you decide goal weight?

How did you decide goal weight?

That's fantastic BBJ! My surgeon calculates the excess weight as the weight you agree to be your goal, which is usually a healthy BMI. i'VE been to see him today, and i've lost 70% of my excess weight, but because of my bone structure he said that he'd be happy if i got to a bmi of 26, so i'll see how a feel, for now a set myself for goal a bmi round 25 -
Sarah, believe me, i know that for you it's a huge deal (telling her i mean) but it's not something she hasn't heard before. Just tell her the truth, the sooner the better, or else your surgery will have been for nothing, the best of luck!

Nails breaking/splitting
chilo1 replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started adding a protein shake a day again, I just blend the chocolate or vanilla flavour into my coffee. My nails have always been thin and break and peel easily, and they continue the same. I take all my vitamins suplements and I know that even though protein on it's own isn't proven to help with the hair issues (or even the nail issues)i just figured that as CLK said not having a full rounded diet for the time being, I would add protein, cause I'm getting enough diary, carbs (more than enough!!) and fats and enough of the micronutrients from the supplements I'm taking. -

How did you decide goal weight?
chilo1 replied to Cheryl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same as Julia, I don't think I'd want to go any lower ,as my body shape changed so much since I was this same weight about 8 years ago, now my middle (tummy especially) is a problem while the rest , my face and limbs are nearly where I want them to be. My nut said that my body would stop losing at a weight that it felt comfortable, so I'll just take it as it comes really -
That's fantastic Tiff and exercising definetly helps, I know for a fact, my heart beat used to go easily up to the 160 mark when exercising to 100%, so I continued to exercise (that was when I was still fat) and took it down to 140 BPM when exercisng to 100% which is around the normal range, so continue the good work, I would say!

Love the Ritalin for the boobies comment! I'm getting my tummy done even though I know I won't have a particularly sexy tummy either, it's just that even now that I'm still about 15-20 pounds (depending on how I feel) to reach goal,I have loads of excess skin hanging, not a pretty sight, I just want to be able to wear jeans or even a bathing suit comfortably without feeling and seeing my dangly tummy!

These" little" NSV are great, I love your story! (Hope your patient is OK)

I sometimes feel my bad habits creeping back in too, so today I really concentrated on what I ate to see when I felt full. This helped. I had a big skinny latte for breakfast, 1 small boiled egg and a small lettuce carrot cabbage low fat mayo (just a teaspoon)for lunch. In the afternoon had a skiiny coffee and blended in 1/2 a serving of protein cause I'm trying to up my proteins, and for dinner 2 small pork ribs and a tiny portion of the same salad (added raisins). I feel fine with the amount I ate today, I'll have a cup of tea with a splash of skimmed milk before I go to bed, and this is how I intend to continue until I reach goal

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.
chilo1 replied to Tiffykins's topic in Fitness & Exercise
yesterday an hour of cardio at the gym, today at home with sick baby so I did about 20 minutes of weights for arms and abs (feeling proud of myself) -
Little interest in food--does this change?
chilo1 replied to weightnomore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm nearly 5 months out and after 2to 3 months my hunger and desire to eat came bacck, as well as taste for certain things (sweets for example, not good!) My taste for wine hasn't come back yet, I hope it does at some point cause I like having a glass now and again! -
I can't wait to get mine done, (and my boobs) but I have to wait a year, I'm hoping that will keep me on track, my prize to myself for getting to goal, hopefully
-
My tummy is my big problem too, not that I'm that bothered as I'm happy I'm still losing weight, slowly but losing, and I know that at some point I'm getting my tummy fixed!
-
You looked pretty before anyway but now you rock! I bet you cant wait to get to goal
-
Congratulations!! I celebrated when I became overweight as oppossed to obese, can't wait to be normal!
-
Similar thing is happening to me. At this same weight 8 years ago I looked bigger, I even changed my goal cause my intention wasn't to be too skinny!
