The good thing about being a slow loser
chilo1 replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't lost a single pound and this is my 4th day on pouch test, but I am losing inches, cause my size 14's are getting looser and looser, soon I'm gonna be able to wear my size 12 jeans!!!!!!!!!!! So if the weight isn't dropping i'm goona try not to worry too much! -
I had a breast reduction about 6 years ago for medical reasons (hyperplasia of the glands) so I have an invertide T scar and a scar round my areeola, hardly visible though. I did lose sensibility or however you call it round the nipple area just as you lose it when you have a C-section, for those of you who have experienced that. Funny because I never ever thought that I would need breast implants, have always had good boobs, but after breatfeeding 3 children, +boob reduction+losing weight a cup C is big now, so I'm def having small implants when I have my TT. I don't give a monkeys about the sensation to be honest, you just find other ways to "have fun" and enjoy a decent pair of boobs!

I think i put this on wrong thread, can't copy and paste it, computer's being stupid! -
Hi Tiff, read a post (can't find it anymore) where you were feeling a bit down, hope things get better for you, you've been such an inspiration for me and for most people on this forum and I can tell that you have a kind heart. Just to let you know I am thinking of you, and you'll get through whatever it is, you've been through worse! Big hug from across the pond

Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?

Wow you're tall Julie, I think that if you get down to 155 (which is about 70 kilos right?) you'll prob fit in to a size 12 again, that's my guess -

I think when we get past 40 (and I spoke to a lot of people who are going through the same thing) our body shapes change so much with age and putting on weight, that it's really hard to estimate what size we're gonna be after losing a certain amount of weight. I never ever thought that at my actual weight (which is about 158 lbs) I would be able to squeeze into to a size 12 UK (which is an american 10, i finally looked it up!) 10 years ago, and this I remember clearly at this weight I was in a tight 14 UK (12 US), and now those pants (i still have 3 pairs of my old jeans and dress pants) are loose on me, so you never know what size you're gonna end up being! -
75 pounds gone and my husband says this to me........??
chilo1 replied to myrori's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Men are strange creatures! My husband isn't obese but he's big and has a bit of a belly(he used to be a rugby player) He started a healthy eating plan a few days ago and started going to the gym again,I think the fact that everybody compliments me got him thinking and I can see his belly is already shrinking! -
Just checking in, exhausted and hungry, had one teaspoon of sugarfree organic peanut butter I still hope I shift at least a pound though, well done Coops and Diva! I haven't started going back to the gym, will go on friday...

I had similar emotions before being sleeved, I have 3 children, 12,10 and 13 months, and I decided that one of the reasons I was doing this was for them! I believe that your/our morbility and ultimately mortality are at much greater risk if you don't have the surgery, as you you prob know and researched all the comorbidities related to obesity. It's hard to find all the posts on here since they changed things round , so as Tiff says don't take it personally, this forum is a great support! Good luck for the 21st!

NtvTxn, I'm not on maintanance yet but I thing you're snackinf on the right kind of things, a Mac Donald's or a doughnut once in while as a treat is OK, more than that no! Tiffy you go girl! Hormones can be horrible plus the giving up soda will prob have an effect on your mood. I started lowcarbing on monday, started the 5 day pouch test yesterday and am feeling a bit moody myself, haven't got to the gym yet either, I'm sure that will help -
Thanks for sharing your experience

RNY to VSG in operating room
chilo1 replied to Sunchik's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think that you are very lucky and your daughter very smart to have given them the go ahead. The worse thing would've been waking up form surgery with the keyhole scars but no operation done! You will truely love your sleeve! Good luck to you! -
Not enough restriction?
chilo1 replied to TijuanaPlication's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I've had a VSG I'm 5 months now, I have restrcition though by now I can eat mostly anything just in tiny amounts. I was never ever expecting it to work on it's own, I actually thought I would have to work harder. I have nearly 20lbs still to goal, but I am still amazed of how well I'm doing, I just asked my mum via skype to tell me that this is not a dream ! -

OK so I haven't weighed myself for a while and won't do until affter my 5 day pouch test (on day 2 now) And my period, which is due in about a week. As I said earlier in this thread my initial size goal was a size 12 UK, but now I've been buying 12's jeans, tops and even a little jacket in the sales and they fit me! I do need to loose a tiny bit more to actually look good in thme but I still can't believe I can fit into a size 12!!!!!!!!!!! New goal a size 10 and that's it or else I'll be the same size as my 12 year old daughter -
what can I tell my nosey boss?
chilo1 replied to steph025's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why don't you tell him that you're getting your gallbladder taken out, that it has been bothering you and your doctor said that you have some tiny stones and it was better taken out in a planned surgery rather than an emergency surgery?? -
Doing good, in bed now, I am a tiny bit hungry, had 2 protein shakes(breakfast and lunch) and soup and a cup of tea tonight, plus Water and a couple of coffees during the day, one day gone, only 4 to go

It's great to read this guys as hopefully I will soon be on the maintanance stage and I am genuinely scared. My goal is not a very low goal as you can see on my ticker, but my Doctor Nutritionist Husband and I decided on a weight that we think I will be able to maintain, be healthy and comfortable in. I'm planning on a TT in December, so if a don't maintain for at least 10 months to a year I wont be allowed to get my TT! I will be watching this thread and good luck for those of you who are on this phase already! -
Something similar used to happen to me. I'd too was tested for diabetes, thyroids and loads of other things and nothing. When finally I convinced a doctor that it wasn't in my head he ordered an oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT), it's not just a normal diabetes test, they load you with glucose orally and take blood samples before and i think 30 and 60 min after the glucose load. I ended up with a diagnosis of insulin resistance( a type of prediabetes) that was due to my obesity and bad eating habits. I was put on a diet and started feeling better, that was a big scare for me and influenced my decision to get sleeved. If you haven't had this specific test done I would strongly advice you to ask for it, I was sick and tired of being treated like a nutcase
