I would wake her up, blood in throw up can't be good. I've thrown up a few times but never with blood. I would just get it checked.

My Surgeon uses a 36 fr bougie, I was afraid that it was too big, but when I've seen the diameter of my stomach I was amazed at how tiny it actually is!

I am 6 months out and am a bit scared that this is it. It won't be to bad if I don't get to goal as long as I don't put on any weight, I'm just so used to dieting, losing weight(never this much though) and putting it all back on. I guess that will always be a fear for me, so I have to try and keep eating within calories and healthy and exercising!

I think it might be dumping Sx, I got it once, after drinking a peanut butter protein drink that was a bit to sweet, I didn't faint, just felt clammy, sweaty, dizzy, tachicardic, had to lie down and fell asleep for about 10-15 minutes.

Sleeve X-ray after several years
chilo1 replied to Disney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does stretch, but imagine how smaller it still is 4 years later than the original stomach. What scares me is that my surgeon uses a 36 fr bougie, i reall don't want my stomach to stretch! -
8 months out - AND NO RESTRICTION
chilo1 replied to texaschick's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 6 months out and even though I can eat much more than at 2-3 months out I still feel a lot of restriction especially when it comes to proteins like chicken or any meat really even fish. So I am focusing again on the first protein thing as my weight loss pretty much stopped altogether in the last month or 2. Yesterday I had a piece of salmon about 6 oz (half of what I would eat presurgery as far as protein is concerned) and I could eat a bit more than half of the salmon and then had some veggies. Today I had chicken for lunch and dinner and could manage about 4 oz each time and hardly had any space for anything else, I had about 2 teaspoons of cous-cous. I would say focus on protein and don't drink (I don't drink with my meals now, I did at first) and I'm sure you'll realise that there is still quite a bit of restriction, good luck! -
Coops I'm sorry you're going through this. I firmly believe in the cortisol fat stress response, and how it influences how we gain weight (round the waist, i too changed my shape completely in the last 6 years from pear to apple) I know how stressful a teachers job is, my mum's a teacher, so whatever you can fit in to try and make life a bit easier go for it!

Big problems someone please help
chilo1 replied to lyn74106's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you still have pain and a fever I would call your doctor or go to the emergency ASAP. It could be a leak, I don't want to scare you but I think you should get seen by somebody. Don't worry about the weightloss for now, that will come, just make sure you find out what's going on inside, and keep us posted, good luck! -
Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?
chilo1 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I reached my goal size(10-12 UK) but not weight. I started a thread yesterday (it's lost now ) about my shopping experience and not believing it was me looking at sizes 10-12. Before surgery I told my husband and daughters that the surgery would have been succesful in my eyes if I got to a size 14,(I was a size 20 before surgery). A size 12 would be a dream come true, and too be honest I never even thought of becoming a size 10. Even though I'm mostly a size 12 now, anything I lose now is a bonus. I called my mum crying when I came back from shopping yesterday, I think I'm still in shock! -
Calories? How many should I have?
chilo1 replied to sassygirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sure that if you replace your protein drinks for lean grilled chicken you'll be at around 900 calories -
You mad me laugh, my kids always ask the same every 5 minutes when we're on a trip! Monday will be here before you realise, good luck!

Yesterday I bumped into a friend who I haven't seen since before surgery when I was at my heaviest. WWhen she saw me she looked at me in disbelief and said "Where's the rest of you??!!" She said i look fantastic and I could tell that she was genuinely happy with me!!

Great to hear! I too love steak, and the other day I met a girl who had the sleeve the same day as me and she said that she was practically a vegetarian now, I'm so glad I'm not in her position!

Calories? How many should I have?
chilo1 replied to sassygirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh! And I try keeping my calories around 1000 most days, even though my nut said not to worry if i went round 1200, i'm just a bit desperate to get nearer to goal -
Calories? How many should I have?

I am 6 months out and recently stalled for about 5 weeks. I tried to lower my carbs a bit not very succesful, around 60-80%. I think what helped me break my stall is that I changed my exercise routine, added some weights and did my cardio a bit more intensly Oh and I also stopped the protein drinks and now mostly get all my proteins from normal food. If you don't mind me asking with what BMI did you start and what is your BMI now? Sometimes the lower the BMI the slower the pounds come off. Maybe you should try ditching the protein bars-shakes and have instead snacks like cheese or lean meats, oh and try drinking more water for liquids, i think that helped me break my stall as well. Hope this helps -
Yummm I feel like eatng a burger now, I'm glad i have some frozen meat, I'm definetly making some healthy home made burgers for lunch today with my daughter who's off school today with an injured foot

Me! Even though I was still hungry all the time winter was always worse. I can't believe I actually LOST weight this winter
-
I didn't get any specific guidelines frommy doctor, but people here tend to go for protein first (60 to 70%) and around 40%or less of carbs. I track my food on fatsecret.com , when you enter the food you've eaten it gives you the % of proteins, carbs and fat, as well as the calories, and you can also track your exercise. Hope you find this helpful

I do the same as Sussanne, I might be a slow loser, but am near goal 6 months out. I have restricted myself since I was 9 years old from "bad foods" but it never worked for me, as I would put on all the weight and more. Of course most of the time I limit myself to good, slow release carbs (fruit, veggies, whole grain bread for toast or oatmeal and skimmed milk) I am not doing the you can't have this or the other anymore either, a few times since surgery I felt like having nachos, I had 2 or 3 and my desires or cravings were gone,I know that if I don't have what I feel like eating (i wouldn't call it craving anymore) I just think about it all the timeand fantasise about, and eventually when I can get hold of the food i've been craving I'd probably binge on it!

I think it's understandable that you're feeling this way, you're obviously depressed/stressed because things are going to change so drastically in your life again when you go back home. Hang on there try to get to the gym as much as possible as you know the endorfins will work their magic. Once you get home you wwill have much more choice of food as someone said already said, which will make it easier. I would say if you continue to feel like this to see somebody about it if it's available out there. Good luck GT and keep going, you've came this far in what I'm sure is a very stressful time of your life, big hugs
