Just reading more posts......has pineapple juice or papaya enzymes work for anyone when food gets stuck?

It was hard for me to takes meds crushed up or on applesauce. I was actually able to swallow them.

Normal. Lasts a few day. It will pass........literally.

Stay strong. You will get thru it. When you move to the soft/mushy stage, you will appreciate what a warm meal is. I remember days of jello, applesauce, crystal lite..........I thought I was gonna die from red dye #5! Definitely worth the wait. You will eat normally again, faster than you think.

Funny you say this. I just asked my husband if we could go to a movie tonight. I told him one stipulation .......he wasn't allowed to get popcorn. I just got my 2nd fill today and am just on liquids. I did have popcorn since being banded and it was fine.

I've been banded for a month. I initially purchased syntha 6 vanilla ice cream powder. I love it. I put it in my magic bullet with milk and frozen fruit. I am almost out and want to try a new flavor. I am leaning towards the chocolate milkshake. Does a gone have any suggestions on what/how to mix this?

Are you sure you aren't experiencing something being stuck? It is painful lime that. I describe it as a screw going in your chest.

I described the feeling has having someone screwing a 12" screw into your chest. I experienced it today actually. Not a good feeling.

I was wondering if my nails were growing faster as well. Perhaps it is the protein.

When you say single serving, do you mean the packets make for the 16oz bottles of water?

I was banded 5/24 and have only lost 13. My doctor said I'm right on track. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Be thankful.

I've only tried one protein powder: Syntha 6 Vanilla Ice Cream. I bought a huge jug on Amazon for $27. It lasts forever. Also a must have is a Magic Bullet. I put 1cup milk 1 cup frozen fruit and a scoop of protein powder. Put in Magic Bullet for a few seconds......delicious. After you progress in food stages, you aren't supposed to "drink" your calories, but my doctor said a protein shake like this in the morning is great. There are approximately 36 grams of protein.

I have my first fill today. I am very nervous. I hate needles. For the first fill, I need to stand and drink that horrible crap in front of the xray machine again. It is at that time when they fill. I will be standing, not lying down. I will probably pass out. Has anyone had it done this way?

Purchase the magic bullet. Best thing I ever bought! I make a shake every morning and it literally takes me one minute. I use milk, frozen fruit, and syntha 6 vanilla ice cream protein powder.

I don't recommend it. Five days after mine were hell. Keep in mind, day 6, I felt fantastic!

Talk to you pharmacist to see if they CAN be crushed. Some cant be. Explain your situation and they will find a solution for you. You will get liquid pain Med after surgery. I take medication for my thyroid and that pill was small enough to take after my surgery. Good luck.

Same here. It will pass - literally. Just be careful when passing gas. Mine lasted about 3 days.

I was banded on 5/24. I feel the same way.....is there a band there? I'm always hungry, I feel no restriction. I go for my first fill on 6/20. I couldn't go sooner because I am "healing". I initially lost 15 pounds but have gained 6 back in the past week or so. Very depressing and frustrating! I'm beginning to give up!

I am three weeks out and was down to 15 but when I started eating solids, I gained 3. I am getting a little discouraged. I don't go for a fill until 6/20. I found the greatest Protein powder recipe on Amazon for about $27. It is Sentra 6 vanilla Ice Cream flavor. I mix with one cup skim milk, 1/2 cup fruit and one scoop powder. I put this in my Magic Bullet for about 30 seconds. It is delicious. I have a really bad gag reflex and I love this. I compare it to a strawberry shake at DQ.

I'm a May 24'r too. I feel fantastic as well. I had same feeling up to 6 days post op what the hell did I do? I have no fill in mine but am ready and scheduled for one 6/20.. I still feel hungry and have no restriction what so ever.

I am 13 days out from surgery. I had my first follow up with my doctor today. He suggested I get a fill in the next week or two. I'm glad because I do not feel any restriction and I am often hungry. What should I expect? Does the fill hurt? I hate needles. I understand I have to drink that crap and have another xray. How does it feel after fill when you eat?

I get my first fill in 2 weeks. I'm just 13 days post-op.
