  1. Happy 58th Birthday Ollie!

Freaking out a little (clothing purge)

I am happy to hear that I am not alone. I hate giving up my too big jeans and shirts. I think Wheetsin said it right....that it took us a long time to find clothes that fit our chubby bodies....we couldn't just walk into any store and buy something. Is it me too, that the more form fitting the clothes are, the less secure I feel? I have been longing for a thinner frame and now that I am getting there, it is posing a crisis. Shoot me now!!!

    Slow Losers

I am a slow loser too.....had my surgery Nov.06 and as of today I am down 57 lbs. I get frustrated sometimes but I feel great and even tho I am not losing pounds I am losing inches because my clothes keep getting bigger. I am going for a fill next week and hopefully I will begin losing again. Everyone is different.....
  5. I can polish my toes again!!!!
  6. I think sex is way better than CPAPs but I do feel better in the morning when I use my machine. I feel better after having sex too!

    KIA Sportage

I absolutely love my Kia Sedona....it is a great value and it rides like a dream. It is light years better than my Ford Aerostar and Windstar. Best vehicle I have ever owned. We will be purchasing a Kia Sportage within the next month. You can't beat the warranty.!
  8. welcome to lapbandland! let us know how you are doing.
  9. Nope....I started being hungry about four days after surgery as well. Call your doctor's office tomorrow and let them know. You may be able to start the protein shakes ...Good luck.
  10. I can't answer if you are at risk with undiagnosed sleep apnea but to answer your question about using the cpap machine, I didn't use it during surgery. I did bring it with me for my overnight stay and it was left up to me as to whether or not I wanted to use it at night. I chose to because I get a better quality sleep and I wanted to start off my recovery on the right foot. As part of my approval process, I needed to see a pulmonary specialist. Are you required to see one? I would think that he could answer your question much better than anyone else. Good luck to you!
  11. I can recommend the Center for Weight Management associated with Lowell General Hospital In Lowell Mass. Dr. Roy Shen did my band and I haven't had any problems at all. The center closely monitors you thru out the entire process. The staff is professional and compassionate. Good Luck in your decision.....
  12. its so funny that you started this thread. I am wondering the same thing. I have lost 50 lbs and altho my clothes are a bit on the loose side, I can still wear my same jeans and tops. I will say my shoes are alot looser so I guess I lost most of my weight in my big toe
  13. Is is just me or does anyone else find the log in at the bottom of the web page to be misplaced? It was much better having it where it was in the top corner. Can we go back to the way it was?

    Not telling anyone...

good luck on becoming one of "us".....I also chose not to tell anyone other than my husband and my two sons. For me it was the best decision. As far as eating goes, we go out to dinner with friends and no one really notices what I eat or don't eat. It isn't the problem that you think it is going to be. By the time you are ready to dine with other people, you will be past the liquid and mushie stages. You will be surprised at what people don't notice. On the rare occasion that someone says something, I just tell them that I am finally trying to control my eating habits because I want to live to see my grandchildren and I change the subject. Truthfully, for me, it is not a problem. have a good journey to lapbandland!

    1 week post op. starving.

Protein shakes are definitely the best way to go to curb the intense hunger. I know how you feel, been there myself. A week post op and I was fainting from hunger. The doctor's office told me to start having protein shakes mixed with fat free milk. It saved me from being a starvin' marvin'....good luck
