    1st fill ??

Had my first fill last week and was told to do liquids first week after then soft foods the next. I did ok until yesterday and went out to eat with a friend. I ordered fajitas, tortillas, rice and Beans. Well, I thought a small piece of a flour tortilla and a small piece of meat wouldn't hurt. Boy, was I wrong. About 2 minutes after I swallowed I felt the tightness. It got to be very painful and much to my chagrin, I hurled right there at the table. I felt better after but about 5 minutes later I had to run to the restroom and hurl again. The tightness wouldn't stay gone once I had hurl. Once at home I had to hurl 2 more times. The tightness and pain finally stayed gone. Boy, did that cure me of not eating what I am not supposed do. I don't ever want to go through that again! Have a good one!

  4. Hello all! I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and have a question about the port site. Is it supposed to protrude just a bit from your stomach? That area always feels warmer then the rest of my stomach also. I had to have a hematoma removed day after my surgery. A lot of blood had accumulated so had to have it drained. I was wondering if this has anything to do with the protrusion . Thanks for any thoughts on this question!
  5. Hi there! I'm on week two as well, and you are not alone. I totally feel like you do as far as wanting solid food. The diet looked so much easier on paper, and I thought to myself oh losing the weight will be a snap, no problem since I'll have the band put on. Well, I still get hunger pangs and my car still wants to turn into McDonalds all the time I drive by, but I know nothing good comes easily so we just have to stay strong together! Good luck to you!
  6. HI there! Glad to have found this forum for support and information. It's been a week since my banding, but it started off on a bad note. I noticed upon my release from the hospital, that a rather large mass had formed on my left side under the row of staples. The doctor said it was just blood that had accumulated and the body would absorb it. That evening as I was getting up from having gone to the restroom, and a huge stream of blood squirted from the incision to across the wall. Then I had to vomit which caused more bleeding. Needless to say, I was in the ER the next morning. The mass had become even larger. I was running a fever and in quite a bit of pain. I played the waiting game till around 3, until my dr. said I could "let it absorb" or take me back into surgery to take care of it. I said take care of it NOW. Well, it seems it got taken care of ok , but that was surely a consequence I was not expecting. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thanks! Brenda

    I'm so confused!!!

Thanks guys! I'm moving as much as I can, trying to cough too- hard to get a good one though with the stomach soreness. I AM very tense, didn't occur to me that it had anything to do with my breathing. Other than that, I have been sip, sip, sipping and NO straw. I think my stomach tried to growl earlier, but I'm not sure LOL... I am sick to death of the damn shakes, they are so sweet, even with the "unflavored" (my ass) one mixed in. I tried it mixed into some soup during my pre-op diet, and the crap tasted sweet, almost like vanilla. YUK.. I've never been a big fan of sweets or sweetness . Anyway, I'm grouchy so enough griping. Thank you all for responding
