    Full of Doubt

Keeping it off is always the issue! All my life I have lost weight but been unable to keep it off because I LOVE food! Now I really love my band. My band helps control my intake, so occasionally I can it the B.A.D foods, but my band only lets me eat a small amount and not over eat like I always used too. I was banded on March 31st and lost 60lbs so far, I can honestly say its one of the best things I have done in my life. As I get a little older the aches and pains were creeping in, but I can tell you I really feel my fitness levels and weight are shortly going to be the best they have ever been and the aches and pains are almost at zero. My lapband is my tool to help me live a long and happy life. Only you know if you will be able to keep the weight off, I wish you lots of luck and happiness in whatever you choose:)

    First Time Bloger

you will seriously need to chew every bite until it is almost liquid then wait a minute before the next bite, if you dont do this it is very likely you will be sick. I still havent conquered it 100%, but Im slowly learning my lesson:) Good luck! Its the best thing I have ever done, I hope you feel the same

    First entry

Everything sounds normal, and the good news is it gets better, much better! The port discomfort subsides in a week or so, you will gain a little more interest in food, but probably not much......A GOOD THING:) You may notice a different sleep pattern where you don't sleep much, but this also goes back to normal. Stay positive, everything will be fine. Remember one thing, everyday and every fill is a learning curve. Sometimes you can eat sometimes you cannot, you maybe sick one day on a certain food, but not the next. Keep an open mind and stay strong, you can do this! I had my surgery on March 31st and have lost 42lbs..................ITS WORTH IT! Take care and good luck!

    Day 3

I was banded 3/31/2011, I had the same sleep issues as you, but I can tell you it gets better and now I sleep 8 hours a day. The gas pains also go, but you have to walk alot and keep taking the gas x strips, I know its hard, but keep on going, when the weight starts dropping off you will feel great. I have lost 28lbs since the pre op diet. Good Luck!

    sleepless nights...

I was banded on 3/31/11, so I'm on my 5th day of liquids. I was totally prepared for the surgery and the fact I would only be able to have liquids for two weeks, the thing I wasn't prepared for is the sleepless nights! I sleep between 3 or 4 hours then its like WAKEY WAKEY RISE AND SHINE, it doesn't matter what time of night it is, my body seems to think I should be up and starting my day. I purposefully have not rested in the day in the hope I might get a full nights sleep, but here I am blogging away because I've been awake since 12:30am, its now 4am. In the scheme of things I guess this really isn't such a big deal, when I look back at how awful I felt about myself before the surgery and all the pain in my back, knees and feet, Im truely blessed that at the moment all I have to concern myself with is more hours in my "awake" days:)

    Proud of myself

@Cindys5........After I took the ear patch off (for sickness) on day 3 I began to get a little nausea. My Dr had perscribe a nausea pill that dissolves in the mouth, it worked fast and lasted all day. Hope this helps, good luck
  8. The gas x strips really helped me and you need to walk around as much as you can. I started out walking from one end of my house to the other, almost immediately it helped, I was a burping fool! Also you need to make sure you are getting way more than 1oz of fluid an hour, if you don't increase your intake of fluid you will dehydrate.........GOOD LUCK, YOU CAN DO IT!

    sleepless nights...

I was on liquid codine and was sleeping all the time! I don't really have pain anymore, so I don't use it. When I wake up I feel wide awake like its normal to be up at 1am feeling like I've had a full nights sleep... Thanks to you both, it helps to read what others are going through, I will check out labbandchicka. Good luck!

Food Food Everywhere? And Not A Morsel To Eat!

Food is everywhere!!! Every other commercial is for food, every time we turn a corner there is a food establishment! I am on day 5 of liquids, I guess I havent had enough because this morning I got a little sick and dehydrated, so back to the drawing board I go.....................FOCUS. I keep reminding myself of how awful I felt before the surgery, this is what will keep me going.... Good luck to you, you have chosen to be a survivor
