Great job
-
I had my 6 month follow up and it went great. All blood work within normal limits. Still off blood pressure medication for 3 months. Down 72 pounds. I did not buy new clothes untill I hit onederland. I have gone from a 22/24 pant to a 12/14 and a tight 3x to a L/XL shirt. I even bought a shirt in the juniors!!! it was an extra large but still JUNIORS!!!! We went on vacation and I sported a regular swim suit instead of a swim dress.!!!! I am loving it.

What is your target BMI?
Lose140 replied to PatrickG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My starting BMI was 46 and is now 35. I am only 2 pounds away from onderland and am so excited just to hit that goal. I can't imagine a normal BMI of 24 or so. -
I am going on bra and panty spree this week I hope. I know this is crazy because I am still 90 lbs for goal. However at 5 feet 4 inches I weighed 267 pounds on surgery day. My bra was a 46 H cup. I have brought out the old bras of a 42 DDD and they are a little big so I am going to go get measured so I know what to get. I don't miss my girls but my husband is thinking they are getting a little small. He is very supportive but he is a boob man after all!!!! I am with you girls I will get new boobs when I reach goal!!!!

Sleeve Recovery Time? ..Have walking job..
Lose140 replied to renniemommie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started walking the hospital halls 3 hours after surgery. I am a physical rehab nurse so I can tell you that the earlier you move after surgery the faster your recovery. I had surgery on Friday and dischagred Sunday morning had my check up on Monday at Dr. Office and he said I could go back to work untill he heard I had a 50 pound weight minimum I had to lift. He said if there was no lifting over 25 pounds I could go back. I ended up going back to work at 4.5 weeks and working 12 hour shifts was hard. I don't know if it was because of surgery or if I was just not used to it because of the time I had off. My husband did not recover as quickly. He was light headed and dizzy for 2 weeks. It took him forevery to get dressed and ready to go. Be carefull about doing to much to early!!! Follow what your doctor says and listen to what your body says. -
I have lost 53 pounds since surgery on 09/22/10. I just started working out (jogging on the treadmill) 2 weeks ago. The scale does not show all the progress. Take measurements of your body. I have had several stalls that last 2 weeks but then all of a sudden I drop 5 pounds in 2 days. I just like to think about how this tool is a lifelong tool and the weight will not come back because my stomache will never be able to hold and entire pizza again!!!

Anyone up for a P90 challenge
Lose140 replied to Nellybell83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been working out for 2 weeks now. I am jogging on the treadmill for a 5 k distance. It started out taking me 48 minutes but now it is down to 40 minutes. I also do taekwondo with my son. My husband and I have P90x but are waiting a little bit to start. My goal is to start p90x when I get to onderland. I have 14 pounds to go. We know several people who have done it and the results are amazing. I can't wait to get started. -
And the stupid comments begin...
Lose140 replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband and I took different approaches. I am an RN so everybody I worked with would have noticed that I was off work and then started loosing weight so I was just upfront with everybody. My husband is a wealth manager and works behind his desk so he was able to go back to work quickly. He told everyone portion controll and exercise. We .both have had a lot of support from the people around us. Neither one of us told our families what we are doing. Boy will they be surprised when they come to our sons high school graduation this May!!! Sorry to hear that someone had their head up their butt!!! -
3 months out and down 47 pounds. Mourning the loss of my boobs. If you see the pictures you will understand. I have a couple of 2 week periods where I did not lose anything. Emotions were running pretty crazy in month two but have settled down. Dr. took me off of blood pressure medications!!!

I am 2 months out and have lost 40 pounds. I have noticed that I am a little blue at times. I have little energy. I just started working out last week and don't know if that is contributing to being so tired. I can't believe that I feel depressed. I am excited about the weight loss and the way my body is changing. I wish I could kick the blues!!! They come and go. Most days are good and days like today I could sleep all day!!. I will add pictures to my gallery soon.

I think that you need to watch your sodium intake and your carb intake. I was at a stall for two weeks and I started tracking my food and was getting way to many carbs. As soon as I started lowering the carbs to around 30-40 my stall broke. Sounds like most of your protein is processed and will contain a lot of sodium. The web site "my fitness pal" has a great calorie counter that has tons of food already in it along with carbs and thats how I figured out I was getting 75-100 carbs a day.

My husband and I did this together well 2.5 weeks apart because we have children and couldn't do it at the exact same time. It is great to have someone who understands. It is kind of annoying because he is losing faster than I am but thats the way it goes. Good luck with your surgeries!!!
