Facelifts, Botox, Injectables, Fillers, Lasers -- Plans, Stories, Prices, Problems, Results
LappingItUpInFL replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hello Ladies, I am 5 years s/p lap band. I went from 235 to 119 , it took 5 years. I was too thin, band became too tight after weight loss (can't figure that out, barium studies showed it was tight but ok) and my surgeon developed an illness and quit practice so I did not know who to see. All that is resolved now and I am a healthy 135 at 5'4". I lost a tremendous amout of volume in my face and I looked like 10 miles of bad road, like a bassett hound. Had a mid face lift and upper eye lift and it made a huge difference. Took 10-15 years off my face. Find the best, most recommended surgeon you can and go for it, such a pleasure not to hear "you look tired, are you ok?"!!!!!!!! Best Wishes, Laura -
Post op 6 days - minor complications
LappingItUpInFL replied to Woodslass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
5 days post op, same thing. Back aches too. I just figured it was still the CO2 still floating around from the laproscopy. Seems worse today think it is because I napped most of the day and did not walk which I hear is best for getting rid of that abdomenal gas. Port suture is the only sore suture and is a bit lumpy. We all sound very similar and have little doubt all normal healing processes. Cheers! -
It says on the can it be mixed with any liquid just watch going over 130 degrees or the texture goes funky. I just had my first Unjury today with 8oz of almond milk. It was delish. Heard a great tip, on here I believe that if you sift your protein powder prior to mixing (like you would flour in a cake recipe) I will mix totally smooth. I of course in my haste forgot to try it but will next time. La

Hi guys, I'm still pre-op but have been doing lots of youtubing to check out how others are doing with their lap band. I came across a wonderful channel its Anume1109. Check it out when you get a chance. She has lots of WLS recipes. One of the things that she has on there is Trader Joe's Peanut Flour. I just didi a comparison in my cabinet and regular Peanut Butter has 16g of fat and 7g of Protein and the peanut flour has 4 grams of fat and 16 grams of protein. She mixes it with greek yogurt and agave nectar and it's a whoping 32 grams of protein for breakfast. Just wanted to share that. That gurl Hi That gurl, Found Anume1109 also and she is my fav vlogger, she is so well spoken, totally accountable and not whiney like some. I was banded 4/11/11, in clear liquid stage and sooooo ready for full liquids. Enjoying your posts Laura

There are little to no calories in hot sauce. I am on day 3 post op and clear liquid week sure is tough to take. I put a dash of wostercestershire(sp?) in my beef broth and thought I had died and gone to heaven. Really looking forward to full liquids week!

What was you BIGGEST post op full liquid diet slip up???
LappingItUpInFL replied to Ssauce74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 day post op and I have to do week 1 with clear liquids only, week 2 full liquids, 3 is mushies then week 4 I start solids. I feel mentally or perhaps habitually hungry but I am really not having any physical hunger . It is all a head game at this point. If you start veering off your eating plan rules this early you may want to try and get some extra behavioral support ,maybe try an OA meeting or just speak to someone in your surgeons office. I am having meat withdrawls, I am a huge carnivore but my commitment to making this tool work is so much greater than my desire for meat, or pizza, or cheeseburgers( damn food ads everywhere I look!) SSauce74 don't undermine yourself, all your favoritefoods will still be around when it is ok to have them and your band has settled in properly. You can do this, and remember you are not alone. -

I just had my freak put on a leash yesterday! Surgery was very easy, pleasant. Having some discomfort but no trouble with the liquid intake. Never thought broth and jello would EVER taste so amazing!!! Good luck and love to all my 4/11 bandster buds! Let's get our shrink on! -

Unjury protein powders
LappingItUpInFL replied to Rachael's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if anyone has tried the Blue Diamond almond milk, but it is heavenly, super creamy and light. The numbers are for 1 cup- 60 calories, 2.5 g fat, 8 carbs, 1 protein. Has 45% of your daily calcium and 50% of vit E. If you really want to lose the carbs they have an unsweetened version too. The original has a bit of cane juice in it. I have bought the unsweetened chocolate flavor and added splenda, it was yummy. have a feeling this will be my friend the next few weeks while on liquids. Looking forward to trying the Unjury in the unsweetened, thinking the chocolate may be awesome in the chocolate. -
Unjury protein powders

I just ordered unjury (weird name) today as well and am excited to see it has gotten great reviews.I heard it mixes really well and tastes great. I wanted to order their Vitamins for bandsters but they are out of stock. I like that you only have to take one and none of the ingredients come from China. -

am slated to go4/11/11 (unless I get a nasty surprise on my insurance approval) My doc only makes me do liquids for 3 days before but I am going to start on Monday voluntarily so my liver shrinks down and my system is ready for the 3 weeksof liquids after. i am so excited and ready to do this. I am just scared that my insurance will deny me. I dont think they will but I know it is a possibility. Will keep you posted. Keep fingers crossed for me and good luck to all of you as well. -

My surgery is scheduled for April 12. I am currently on my 2 weeks of liquids....protein drinks, clear broth, sf popsicles, crystal light and of course water. Lots of water. This is my 4th day on liquids and today has been a little difficult but I know I need to do this and I will. Good Luck to you!! -
