i totally feel you on the Bandzilla thing. i am getting banded may 20th and am in the middle of my pre-op liquid diet. Down 7lbs so far!!! i feel i am obsessed with gettting banded as its all i can think about. i have one friend that just started to process of getting banded so i can talk her ear off about it, but other than that no one else really seems to care. I come to this site for support, but it kinda sucks that others dont share my enthsiasim. But oh well i'm doing this me and no one else! Best wishses on your journey!

hi mike. i didnt ask the nutritionist about chewing gum, but i feel i'm not swallowing the gum so what could i be digesting really? I'm getting banded in Chicago. So far it's day 5 and i'm down 7 pounds!!! yeah me!

Hi just thought i'd jump in here. I also am an AAF and i am getting banded on May 20th. I too am saved. I personally have only choosen to share my lap band surgery with few of my church members, and i think it'x cuz i dont want to hear them say, you are not fat and you dont need to have that surgery. Anyhow. where are you from AWright. since i'm in the process of getting banded in like 7 days(omg)! feel free to PM me. I am totally open and honest and am willing to share the good bad and ugly about my experience thus far and to come. Best wishes hun!

Well today I started my pre-op all liquid diet. So far it's 6pm and i'm ok. I hear my stomach growling, but it's nothing I cant handle. I had a muscle milk shake for breakfast, chicken broth and SF jello for lunch, just ate a SF popcicle and will have a protein shake for dinner. I've been drinking crystal light as well. I even went to the gym and did 40 minutes of cardio. I'm totally shocked and hope that I can keep this up!

I will be banded on may 20th and i'm concerned about where the port will be placed. i wear underwire bra's and am concerned that this may be a problem Is everyone's port placed differently?

i hear you on the chocolate and TOM..me i always crave a hostess cupcake! LOL! I'm hoping to get a 100 calorie snack cake to curb that craving if it happens once i'm banded.

i'm with mike i do whey protein shakes, slim fast, SF jello, cream bases soups and broth of course. i need variety! LOL!

Hi mike, i am on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet and so far so good. I have moments when i feel hungry, but if i can occupy myself for about 10 minutes i usually goes away. With this pre-op diet i'm starting to realize how many times i ate, just to be eating and not really being hungry at all. I chew a lot of gum. some people feels it will make you hungry, but it just keep my mouth occupied, cuz i kinda miss chewing as crazy as that may sound. I am making sure to stay away for social situations surroundign food for right now cuz i dont wanna torture myself. I'm proud that I've have many temptations but havent given in. girl i think obsessed is more the word. i've been overweight since i was 8! i've researched the lap band for the past 5 years, so that fact that it's finally happening is surreal to me. I live in a south suburb of chicago. Currently I am in 18/20's and would like to be in solid 12's. I dont have a particular goal weight, moreso a clothing size. Do you have a pre-op diet. I'm on day 4 of my all liquid diet and i'm sooooo surprized at how well i'm doing. today was a struggle at work one of the doctors order food for everyone and it just killed me to sit there sipping on my soup, while everyone around me chomped on sandwiches, cookies and chips. Only 2 people at work know, but no one has reallly noticed that i'm not eating "real food" so far! WHEW!!!! I just wish it was this time next thurs so i could be getting banded tomorrow. where are you from?

well i am in healthcare as well, but i'm a therapist. i get banded on may20th! cant wait to be called "skinny bitch"!!LOL

i'm glad to hear your surgery went well, you handled it like a champ. you will beat me to get banded by 2 days! so it's nice to see someone who will be so close to my actualy surgery date. praying tomorrow goes well in your recovery as welll.

thanks everyone for your responses...do i have any say so in where it is placed? also did you guys have stiches, staples or glue? just curious
