How do you deal with negative people?
jennifer1 commented on Sarah8807's blog entry in Sarah8807's Blog
i decided to only tell a very few select people about my band. those that had something negative to say i just no longer discuss it with them PERIOD! this my journey and no one else. EVERYBODY ELSE CAN JUST KICK ROCKS!!! -
havent been on here in a while...just frustrated with myself right now. i feel like i'm stuck at the same weight and size. dont know if i should get a small fill or what. ugh!!
-
congrats on your scale victory!!!! i was banded 4 months ago and i cant get past 20 pounds!!!arrgghhh so frustrating. my clothing size has gone from a 20 to a 16, but the scale wont move. ieveryone keeps telling me the scale will catch up! WHEN!!! ugh! i knew this would be a slow process and plus i have thyroid issue, but i feel like i'm at a stand still at this point. yep, exercising 4 times a week at least and 2 times with a trainer. i think maybe i'll go in for a small fill, but with my new job it's impossible to get off work in time to make it to the doctor's office. ugh! FRUSTRATED!

First time Stuck....questions?

has anyone tried papya enzymes when they were stuck? -
yes you will have some swelling but you should be able to get liquids down. i would call your doc and see if you need a slight unfill, you dont want to get dehydrated. just my 2 cents

sometimes just saying out loud(well typing..lol) helps you feel better. i understand where you're coming from though!

Hi TabbyAnn, I have the exact opposite problem.. i was banded almost 4 months ago(only lost around 20 pounds) but my clothing size went from 20 to 16. I just dont get how one can move and noth the other. i totally get your frustration, i'm sorry i dont have an answer for you , but wanted you to know there are some people with the opposite problem...wish we could combine your weight loss with my size loss and we'd both be happy! LOL

Judgmental People and other annoying stuff
jennifer1 commented on mickp24's blog entry in mickp24's Blog
yeah i still have a few friends who dont agree with me getting the band, but i have not had any complications other than self induced(not chewing well/eating too fast...leading to sliming and vomiting.) But going from a size 20 to a 16 in 3 months i'm totally happy. i feel like some people who know i'm banded totally watch me when i'm eating . I still havent told a lot of people and some are wondering what i'm doing and i tell them portion control and i work out 2-3 days alone and 2 days with a trainer. so it's not easy, but i'm doing it. congrats on your loss so far! keep up the good work -
Ok since me and the scale dont get along my focus is clothing size(for real this time! lol). new goal of size 14 by thanksgiving!

I had a fill about 3-4 weeks ago an my doctor told me to be careful cuz i was really tight. well i did the 3 days liquids and resumed eating as normal. i did notice better restriction and staying satiated longer, but now for the past 3 days i'm having trouble getting down meats. I get stuck/slime and had to force myself to throw up to get relief once. I've heard that sometimes it can take a few weeks to feel the real effects of a fill. do you guys think this is what i'm dealing with? Has this happended to anyone else?

i totally feel you on the scrubs. i started in 2X's and now in XL..can fit a L but might get arrested if i leave the house wearing them! congrats!

i feel your pain. i was banded on may 20th of this year and am stuck between 17-20 pounds. AARRRGGGHH!!! my only conselation is that i've gone from wearing 20's to 16's moslty. so since my goal is a size not a weight that gives me some comfort. i dont understand how my clothing size is changed but the scale isnt. i've had 3 fills and i feel i have good restriction taking about 4-6 hours to be hungry, eating smaller portions and exercising twice a week with a trainer and twice on my own. have you taken your measurements or notice other NSV's?

Where does the food actually get stuck?
jennifer1 replied to plumpdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when food gets stuck it's right at the band site(my experience) and it can be quite painful or just uncomfortable. my breath gets short and i walk around hoping to make it pass. I've only had to throw up(sorry that's gross) once from being stuck. trust me when you get stuck you will definelty know. i'm not sure if you were actually "stuck". i've never had it last for more than a few minutes though. -
Are Fluoroscopic fills exact? Precise?
jennifer1 replied to faz1988's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i dont know if one is better than the other, but i was so paranoid that i might have hurt my band, the fact that you can see exactly what's happening in there with the fluro makes me feel better...just my 2 cents -

yeah i'm confused too. i know some surgeons add a little something when they first place the band, but if it was your first fill, you already had that much in? wow! they draw it out to make sure it hasnt leaked out, but i'm not sure how puttting the same back in is considered a fill.. something doesnt sound right.

i'm glad i saw this post. i have had 3 fills and was thinking about going in for a small one. my scale just will not go past the 20 pound mark(banded may20th) and it's soooooooooooooooo frustrating. on the other hand i have gone from size 20 to size 16 so that's the only thing that keeps me off the ledge! LOL

Finding The Lap Band Green Zone
jennifer1 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i'm so glad you posted this. i got tired of people asking my what size my band was and how much i had in it. i was also told by my doc that that number is totally irrelevant from one bandster to the next. everyone is different. great questions to ask. alex is it possible (without having had a fill) for you to be able to tolerate a certain food one day and not the next. i've had this happen to me with several foods and once they get stuck and i know i've chewed properly they go on my no no list i'm just curioius thanks, jennifer
