For those of you who have gotten discouraged
Wannafeelgood replied to mirramjr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for sharing! Presently am in the dumps about this band. 5 months down the road and not lost 20 pounds yet. I will continue to hang in there as I see it might finally work for me one day too. Your post helped me. Hope and pray is all I can do right now. Thanks. -
What to do if you get stuck!
Wannafeelgood replied to lifeisjustbeginning2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This might sound crazy but I jump. Last stuck was in a a fancy restaurant, I excused myself, walked to the bathroom, took the furthest one in the room and Jumped. It went down thank God. -
MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
Wannafeelgood replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
--------------------------------- Hold on Grni77! I too am at 10. cc in a 14 cc band. I've only lost 18 pounds so far. I was also very frustrated specially when I see all the weight others are loosing here. After my fill at 10.cc it took about 10 days before I was in my right spot. I don't know why it's working this way. So just wait a few days and maybe it will work like mine as. I think I am really in the right spot this time. Hoping now to see some weight come off. Good luck. -
If you're going to slime, pb, etc...
Wannafeelgood replied to kittyforet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
----------------------- For me it has been different. The first time it came up instantly, never felt sick just the over flow came up. The last time (hope it is the last one) it took about 15 minutes but then I felt really bad and sick and the whole supper came up. But remember this only happens when I eat too fast or when I eat dry foods like chicken breast. But......everyone is different. -
Since I loose very slowly I decided to track my calories. I use : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ and mark evrything to try and help my metabolism going. I also take my measures every month to encourage myself. Good luck! Wanna

Need info from those who are struggling with no-restriction
Wannafeelgood replied to LargeMediumSmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was just so hoping this last 1.5cc would have helped with the restriction but no ..... I can eat any quantity of food I wish too. I don't because I would regain the poor litte 18 lbs I have lost in 3.5 months. I am struggling every day with my willpower. I now have 10cc in a 14cc band. Still not working for me. If I didn't get stuck with dry chicken once in a while I would think I never had this surgery. When I read here that people lost 100 lbs in the same laps of time I could cry my eyes out. I had hoped for at least 30 to 40 lbs within 4 months (reasonable I thought). I read every comment here and I so wish to be in a good zone very soon. Wanna -
tube came apart from port
Wannafeelgood replied to myrann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not yet but you've got me thinking. I have 9.6ccf fill in a 14cc band and still feel hungry. I have no restriction whatsoever and can eat all I want. I have only lost 14 lbs in 3 months and I'm really getting discouraged as these 14 lbs have been by only my own willpower. And that's fading away. I think I will take my measurements tonight to encourage myself. Good luck and keep us posted with your results. -
May Challenge
Wannafeelgood replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations Larry! I'm aiming for the same goal by May 31st. -
Sorry you are having a bad day. Have had a few of those too. I'm filled at 7cc and still can eat whatever I want so it takes a lot of willpower still...... unti the fill is good. My rib cage on lef t side usually hurts quite a bit after I've eaten too much since surgery. Just get back on the wagon and everything will be fine! Good luck Wanna

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
Wannafeelgood replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well today I started out real bad ...... was unwrapping the bunny to put him in the center of my chocolate cake and the ears broke down.............and so did I. I ate the whole thing and felt so miserable, I thougt I had eaten 1000 calories. Went out and bought a new one and this time the wrapper stays on. Somebody else tomorrow night can unwrap it. We're having an early Easter seeing my kids will be out of town on Sunday. For the rest of the day I'm happy to say that I've worked with the balance of calories left for me to eat. Now I have to get through tomorrow night. Wish me luck. I can do this! Wanna -
Good luck on your journey Luke!

--------------------------------- Hi there, I can understand your fears I was exactly where you are right now. Lots of health problems, could hardly get around, could not exercise. A few more months of this and thought I was going to die. My surgery went extremely well considering all my problems. I was banded March 2nd and have lost 8 pounds. I was a bit discouraged at first because I am not loosing fast. So I decided to measure myself and after 3 weeks I lost 2 inches on most parts of my body. Being older I find it is extremely hard to lose the weight. but I am starting to feel alive again. Although I don't see much on the scale I have started the thread mill for 20 minutes every day when my legs are not hurting. Not one of us looses the same way. I try to just be happy for those who loose fast now instead of depressing. Good luck to you! Wanna

Hi there, I was banded March 2nd and have lost only 8 pounds and I'm strugling to keep them off. I am a very slow looser and I hate it. The only advice I can give you is to measure yourself...........this is what's helping me go on. I don't loose pounds but have lost 2 inches all around in 3 weeks. So I am encouraged by this. Good luck.

has anyone had surgery in montreal?
Wannafeelgood replied to suenan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, Have spoken to Dr. Jette in the past at Pierre Boucher hospital...nice guy. Your appointment is coming up real soon..... next week....good. I hope your waiting is not as long as mine was. Reason why I went to Drummondville but even there ended up waiting 1.5 years. My doctor was M. Lalancette in Drummondville, great crew there too. Have a Great weekend! Wanna -
has anyone had surgery in montreal?
Wannafeelgood replied to suenan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I was banded in Drummondville, Quebec on March 2, 2011. When I was accepted 1.5 years ago, I had to pay for the band. In the meantime the Government decided they would pay for it. So I got it for free. I am down 14 lbs including the 10 days on liquid before operation....... it's going down very slowly. I had my first fill this tuesday ..... 6 cc.... I'm hoping to see the scale go down a bit faster. I have no regrets so far.
