  1. The biggest problem with taking laxatives all the time is that your body starts to rely on them. They may "clean you out"' date=' but you need to find ways to do it naturally.

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water![/quote']

Ok thanks that's what I wasn't sure about if its even healthy to take them! I try drinking lots of Water but my life gets so hectic I don't get what I should in :/

  2. I tend to use my son's plates from Ikea they are little plastic colorful see through plates and then only put about 1/4 to 1/2 of food one there. If I don't I serve way too much and then never eat it anyways. But omg is it amazing to think about how I used to eat! I was going over with my husband the calories in fast food and used to eat it a few times a day!!

  3. That nurse just fed you a load of crap. The band sits on a nerve that send full feelings to your brain. It takes that nerve 20 minutes to tell you you're satisfied when you are unbanded. I dont know about you but i can destroy lots of food in 20 minutes which is why I was morbidly obese!!!

When you're banded and filled properly' date=' the nerve is almost always being touched, so you DO NOT feel the same kind of hunger as before, and when filled right you CANNOT eat the same size portions as before or you will get food stuck and feel horrible. That horrible feeling is called restriction. If you don't feel a struggle or tightness when eating or drinking, you don't have the right fill period.

There are a few people who CAN eat anyway past those feelings. Those people are at serious risk for band complications.

The majority of filled bandsters feel an unbelievable freedom and joy at having hunger controlled and warnings from overeating . For most people, this is all we need to lose weight rapidly, to make better choices, and to leave food addiction behind.

I wish I could slap medical professionals who give misinformation. A lot of them tend to be nurses. They are not doctors![/quote']

Omg I think I found my Lapland off! Thank you! You said it perfectly!

  4. Actually' date=' that isn't how the band is supposed to work.

The band isn't supposed to make you throw up. Ever. Throwing up is one of the leading causes of slips and should be avoided at all costs.

I would talk to your surgeon about this. I'd hate to see you end up with serious complications.[/quote']

I know the band isn't made to make you throw up I have told my Dr he said it's normal somethings winter go well with your Lapland. I don't want to say I'm throwing up its more like sliding back up

  5. My band is one of those lucky ones that I am restricted on how much I can eat one bit too many and I have to throw it up sometimes this happens before I can even get a half a cup in. Other times I can get a cup in. I feel like this is how the band was portrayed to work. I do throw up a lot though.. I can't eat fruit very well unless in a smoothie or something. Some say I prob am too tight but it's working for me and that's all that matters. Keep trying don't give up

  6. I was always home alone as a child from like 10 years old and up after school my parents both worked till after 5. I always snuck in the Cookies and sweets that I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat when they got home. On top of being bored I was always kind of upset that I was always home alone. About 6 years ago I lost some weight, about 30lbs, and was really happy the way I was looking and feeling. Then I got pregnant. I gained 100lbs. Doubled the 30 I lost so 60lbs and about 40 from the actual pregnancy. At least that is what the doctor said that looks like what happened. Even after a strict diet and with the help of diabetes while I was pregnant nothing helped. After being in the hospital for 5 days I had lost the 40lbs. But slowly I gained it right back and 5 years later the date I weighed in for surgery I was the same weight I was the morning I gave birth. After my son was born I tried a few diet pills and gym and all that. But on top of nothing really working I just stopped caring. I didn't want to be fat but I also didn't want to be miserable and not live my life not eat good food. I wish back then I could have done it on my own but I know now that this was the best choice. I have lost 45lbs. It has been a struggle but not as much if I did it alone

  7. I have to stand up throughout my meal and when I stand I feel a plopping of my food going through my band and down to my stomach and then I don't feel any more pressure. Lately I have had a horrible pain in my chest after I eat but I have had my 2nd fill for a few months and this pressure has recently started I have never had heart born so I don't know what that feels like but I'm assuming that's what it is.

  8. Wow i wish i could eat some of the stuff everyone else does!

On an average work day i have:

    Breakfast: iced coffee(sometimes with protein)

Lunch: smart one or lean cuisine(1/2 of a panini or roast beef and veggies which Is about a cup of food)

Dinner: 1 tilapia fillet with lemon juice

I cant eat much more then that. And if i get hungry before bed i eat about 1/2 cup of Cereal or maybe treat myself to a few bites of ice cream.

  9. Like everyone else said I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. However I would be curious to know tomorrow if it causes any problems with gas or your pouch. My doc told me alcohol would irritate the pouch just like caffeine. Anyone had any experience with that and know if it's true or not???

I have coffee almost on a daily bases. No problems.

  11. Are you sure it's not the port you feel? My dr says its almost impossible to feel the actual band. But it may be the port. It is stitched into the walls of the abdomen but you can feel it to the touch and I genially as well

I'm honostly not sure what it is but when i stretch it feels like its from the stomach
