tim h replied to sbilock's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was banded on march 30th and was back to work on light duty the following monday, the 2nd day after my surgery though i felt fine, just bloated from all the gas they put in you, sore but not sore to the effect i didnt want to go somewhere, i actually went shopping with my wife the 2nd day, as long as you dont over do it you will be fine, and listen to ur dr cuz you dont want the band to slip. -
either way the liquid diet isnt that bad i lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks on that diet and 45 pounds in a month after surgery and its definately changing my life, i would taKe the chance and keep the 11th so u can get it done and join us on changing your life:) good luck to you

It's totally normal to be nervous , i was actually really nervous up til the put me to sleep lol but i got banded on march 30th and as long as you follow ALL the rules they give you for post-op you will be fine, i have lost 30pounds since surgery and haven't even had my 1st adjustment yet. good luck and let us know how everything goes! -
pretty much if it has bubbles when you pour it , it's carbonated, my dr told me not to drink until after my 1st adjustment so the band has time to heal .

bring a pillow for the car ride home and put over your belly to help absorb the bumps in the road, wear comfy clothes and prepare for alot of gas lol but it'll be ok and the surgery is definately worth it! i just got banded on 3-30-11 and lost 15 pounds post surgery! -
NYS Empire Ins ~ how long for approval?
tim h replied to isabella2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it took my insuruance 6 weeks to get approved and then 2 weeks later i got banded, you have nothing to worry about , it takes time to get all of the paper work in order and insurance takes forever to approve anything lol -

tim h replied to Candaceloo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had mine done last week and just be prepared for alot of pain the 1st day but it will get better day after day, it's been 5 days for me and im almost pain free, good luck to you all it's well worth it -
i just had my surgery today in beverly hills and it was a great experience, after waking up i was however in some serious pain and discomfort but the 1 1/2 hour drive home didnt help either, for future banders i reccomend bringing a pillow so on your car ride home you can hold over your stomach to keep the vibrations of the road down. i am currently at home and in nominal pain but not as bad as earlier today!
