  1. Ugh! Is there anyone else out there that will share their experience with the lap band that has issues with Hypothyroid. I was banded in June and in the past month I have had some real issues with mental and physical changes. My lab work from my Endo. came back with me needing to change my Thyroid meds to non generic and up to 250 mc. My legs would go weak and cold sweats would happen. I thought I would pass out when I stayed on the treadmill over 20 min. (after getting used to and hour on it). Other personal relations were getting null and void because of no interest No sense of full feeling when eating and to drink water I would want to throw up------Very,very tired-even though I had the desire to want to get things done. I feel the need for Sugar and more Sugar for any kind of energy but doing my best to stay away. Any encouragment would be welcomed.

    Exercise Sucks and other thoughts....

That is neat, I and my 19yr old are joining a gym on Monday! I am in my 40's also and my weight loss is very slow. I can see a diff. in the way my clothes fit but not too much on the scale. I go back Aug. 18th for my 2nd fill. Feel no different yet. Good luck on the exercising!
  3. Thank you very much, I will be watching for the site. I do have a wonderful Endo. Dr. I go and see him 2x a year as well blood work 2x a year. My meds are at 200 synthroid. My lap band Dr. knows all of this but says a pill takes care of that problem. Oh Well, I will prob. have to move on. Great talking with you, Michelle
  4. Hey Shirley, I am Hypothyroid and Insulin Resistant with Hoshimotto Disease- If that isn't enough. I have tried every diet and pill to loose, just wont stay off so when I decided to do this I was at my witts end. I am happy with my results so far. That is why I was so upset with how he was talking with me or to me. Thank you for sharing with me and taking the time out to reply.
  5. I want to say Thank you all for your support. I will be seeing him again in a couple of weeks. If I can not get to the bottom of this attitude I will be looking elsewhere. Best Wishes to All!!!
  6. Thank you everyone for sharing and helping me along my way. I hope to be able to help someone out along their way, just hope they do not run into this same situation.
  7. Thank you so much for listening. I just can't believe how this went down. Was totally not expecting this at all. But your encouragement does help. I do plan on going for my next fill with him, just to face him again. I know I am doing what I need to do just hurts that the Dr. has to talk to me this way.
  8. I had my band placed June 6, 2 weeks after he took my gall bladder out .My first fill was July 21st and when I weighed in I had lost 26.6 lbs since pre-op. I was so excited. My clothes are getting large for me and I can certainly see and feel a differance. But, when I got in to see the Dr. for my first fill I was questioned like never before. He wanted to know why I had only lost 10 lbs since surgery and that I was not loosing like his other patients. That this was not going to work for me if I did not eat right and exercise. All this was said before I answered any questions. I got that hot feeling that comes across your back and neck and was totally mortified (like as if I were a kid) As far as I was concerned I had been doing what I was told to do. All I could do was fight back the tears. He then said a fill would not help me at all if I was not going to follow the rules. WOW! after yes siring him many times he decided to give me my first fill (can't feel any difference) wondering if he just wanted to stick me again. I left his office feeling like a failure and literally spend the next 2 days crying and depressed. It took my husband to finally shake me of this and telling me I am doing wonderful. (I thought I was doing great until this office visit) Has anyone else been through this as well?
  9. Just a question, If you are on solids before your first fill, is it possible to stretch your pouch. Also, do you always fill some type of discomfort with a slipage? I am just a worry wart I guess, but would love to know.

    Very Happy

Hello FeFe, I was ready your reply and noticed that you take insulin resistance meds. Or not any more. How has the surgery helped your levels. I too and a bander and had to take myself off the meds (to big to swallow) Beta shots were making me sick so they took me off of it. Just would like to know how things have changed since surgery for you. I am also Hypothyroid as well with Hoshimoto Disease. I am hoping to have some wonderful changes in my levels as well. Mynuday
  11. I am very sorry to here this, but I am very happy to find that you are recovering. This just shows my ignorance but am very thankful to people like you who do not mind explaining. My prayers are with you and I am very excited for you to get to back to the way you wish it to be. Thank you again for the sharing with me.
  12. Oh, My! Well I wish the best for you, but I will try and just stick with the little bit of Loud noise that I have been having. If you do not mind me asking, what is the stoma for? I am a real newbie and there is so much to still learn. Is this something I will be looking forward too? Thanks for your reply.
  13. Well, I have to agree. My kids think its funny, but I certainly don't. But this noise has been going on for at least an hour. From right to left and back again???? Thanks for letting me know I am not alone this evening.
  14. I am sitting here with the family watching TV and my lower stomach is rolling and talking out loud and I mean Loud! What is going on?? I am not hungry and I have not BM problems? Anyone else out there having their stomachs talking to them?
  15. A digital scale it is. Thank you for sharing.
