Well six months out and doing good. The weight just keeps slowly coming off.
Down 72 lbs now. I am doing a lot of biking so I have also out on some muscle.
Just started lifting weights again a week ago so I expect to put some more weight with that.
Into 38 in. jeans now... and I don't know the last time that happened!
Bags and bags of my clothes to the thrift store... I refuse to spend much on clothes.
I going with one pair of jeans at a time through the journey...
I don't count carbs or cals at all and I am enjoying eating less food... Cookies (life style kind) every day with my Tim Horton's coffee.< /p>
I would like to be down 100lbs by Christmas... It will be close!

Hi there, It has been a while since a I have been on the boards...
My wife and I were sleeved March 16th.
I am down 68 lbs. and my wife 36, so it sounds you are doing very well!
I started at 341 and am at 272.5 now. My wife 241 and now 205.
I have about 60 lbs. to go. We have not been strict with our diet at all. We do eat healthy but I probably take in 1200 to 1500 cal each days.
It sounds as if you have just hit a stall.
You will start to lose again soon. How far yet have you to go?
All the best Russ

On Monday (Aug.16) will be at 5 months. and I am down 63 lbs. and my wife is down 34 lbs.
We are slowly seeing the weight loss but we are not low calorie/carb counters...
Between the 3 the 4 month period I lost only a few lbs. but the next month I lost about 10.
I am thankful with the sleeve I am able to see weight come off (slowly) and STAY off.
Other than the first month I have not had big poundage come off.
I am telling my story so that some will be encouraged when they too are not loosing 30 or 40 lbs in a short time.
If you loose 5 to 10 lbs per month over a period of time you will get there!

That is awesome girl!!!

Thanks for the good wishes, Russ!

I myself was going to go the lap band route. When I began more study I found that the VSG was the only way to go. I found way to many people that had problems with the band. Also I found many people that had the band and then had it removed to get the VSG.
I am sure if you go and do a good research you will know without any doubt the VSG is your only real choice.

Well with a bit of a stall after two months out I thought I would not hit the 50 lbs mark @ 3 months (VSG March16)
But June 12th I was down 50 lbs.!!!

At four weeks out I don't think that it is unusual that you feel tired, most do.
At four weeks out I was still getting over the weird sleeping thing where I would wake up at 4 or so and couldn't get back to sleep.< /p>
Are getting enough calories? What about Protein?
Some are only taking in 600 to 800 calories per day and I don't think it helps to lose when you are down that low and also makes you tired.
Things will improve for you especially over the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Absolutely great, enjoy life!

This is indeed a tragedy and our hearts certainly go out to you!
Another example why it is at great risk someone would decide to go Emmanuel/Jerusalem clinic!!!
Thank you so much for coming forward to share your personal experience because many do not after what they endured.
God bless you Russ

We eating everything in moderation. (I have 2 to 3 coffees a day as well)
I make sure I am getting my Protein in. I'd say I am around 1200 cal. per day.
if you are too few I think it hurts you.
I'll have a small home made hamburger and some broccoli for a meal.
One egg omelet with a piece of toast in morning. I try to have two Protein Shakes each day. Low fat yogort which I add fresh fruit.< /p>
I bike every day. Slowly it just keeps coming off and I don't check the scales too often!

Yes I downloaded the pics from my camera onto my computer then when I go to upload them to my profile it browses to find the pics but then it won't allow me to do it. It just says upload failed...

I have been trying to down load some pics to my profile and it just keeps saying failed. Can anyone advise? Russ

Tiffykins said,Hmmmm, let's see I have never read, or seen any complaints of massive infections, leaks, perforated bowels from Jossart, Cirangle, Gagner, Ungston, Aceves, Zapata, Nicholson, Adencio, Kim, or Barker just to name a few of the extremely reputable...
Well put Tiffykins. Let's "call a spade a spade" and keep the issue from being ignored. One particular place has been sloppy!
One particular place has all the noise about it!
Has anyone honestly heard of any other place besides J/E with issues?
I hope they clean up their act and then maybe their record will improve too.

pnw218 said If you read back, Alex has stated that he has removed people using multiple screen names and were posting unsubstantiated stories.
Shirley, a former coordinator, was fired recently. She apparently used to post on here as a happy Almanza patient and since being fired has been berating the clinic.
This is hearsay isn't it? You have gone to J/E but you are not working for them right you just spend your own money to check out that everything is just roses there.
Do you think the people here at this forum are that gullible?

Honie49 said I am not going to get caught up in all this political mess. I will say this, I would love to personally sue a certain someone for telling me false things about Jerusaleum Clinic.
I am not sure who you are referring to but there have been numerous people who have posted the problems coming out of Jerusalem Clinic, especially since Jan.2010. Many of these were not direct (like some who commented about their sister or mother, or other family member or friend)
Lets realize that most people will not come to the forums after they have had problems, that's just fact.
I have seen many posts by those who do not work for any clinic.
I am, and I think everyone on this board are happy that everything went well for you but that does not excuse the report of the amount of problems that Emmanuel/Jerusalem Clinic has been experiencing.
I have not seen or heard of complaints coming in on this or any other board about clinics/hospitals other than Emmanuel/Jerusalem Clinic.
You may have a list of people to sue rather than the one person you mentioned.
There has been those on this board that have gone to Emmanuel/Jerusalem Clinic themselves and did alright BUT now are telling others to stay clear so what does this tell you?
Again, we are all thankful all is well with you and wish you all the best! Russ

my husband and I got sleeved the same day. He has been a 100% positive right from the beginning. So I have my own built in support system at home. I think for my self there has been more of a range of feelings. But over all it is wonderful to be free from the slavery of food, we are only one month out and are still adjusting to the new life style. I wanted to find out if other woman found them selves having a problem waking up in the middle of the night for no reason, just laying there wanting to sleep Ha Ha!!

Thanks everyone for the replies. My wife and I just got back from a nice time biking.
I am trying to average around 20k a day, (about 12.5 miles). It is something I really enjoy and if I have to go to the bank or any other errands I just go on my bike.

Well my wife and I are one month out today, April16th!
I am down 27lbs and the love of my life is down 13lbs.
Is this about normal?
It seems my weight really stalled the last week and a half with most of the loss coming the first 2 1/2 weeks.
Still having problems sleeping long enough. You know waking up at 4 or 5.
Can anyone tell me how much longer this will go on for?
The last two days combined, 48 kilometers on my bike ( sorry my American friends, I am from Canada, about 30 miles)
Any input is appreciated, blessings Russ

The site policy (which is really bogus) says that unless it is your story it is hearsay.
So the poor soul that just shared the story of the terrible happening with Linda is HEARSAY right? While although it may qualify as hearsay I believe it has merit. That's why when I stated reports of people that were "standing in front of me" or in other words I was with them it was still hearsay.
I hope that people that are thinking of taking the lowest price will read these posts in earnest.

Yes I am 6 months out and down 74lbs.
I have though being exercising lots. I have spent a lot of time biking the last few months. Some days over 50K so I have put on a certain amount of muscle on my legs. I also have just started back to the Y and have begun lifting weights again so that will cause me to have more muscle/weight in my upper body.
All the best Russ
