    Magnesium Citrate Dilemma

Per my doctor's instructions I took the magnesium citrate on the Saturday before my surgery on Monday. I'm sure they did this because I live 350 miles from the hospital where I had my surgery and they knew that I would be traveling on Sunday. I was on liquids on Sunday and of course, nothing after midnight the night before surgery. I think I would call my doctor's office and talk to them about making the change.

The One Time I Follow The Rules

I had my 3-month appt. (well, just a little later than 3 mo.) last week and the doctor told me to cut back on my B-12 to twice a week. My labs weren't as high as yours but he said I didn't need to take it every day from now on. I think everyone's body is different, that's why they are checking the labs to make sure we are doing fine.

    G*d Da*n Chocolate!

I managed to sit down w/ one miniature almond joy and a cup of hot (decaf) tea last night and was totally happy with that!!! I definitely could not have done that without my sleeve!!!!

Anyone heard of a WLS "card"

I received one also. I haven't used it yet but it could be useful at times. I keep it next to my medical insurance card in case of an emergency.

    Wearing a Binder?

I was never given a binder and did fine without it. I think you would be okay without it, but you might want to check with your doctor if you're unsure.

    VSG and GERD

I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and my doctor put me on a chewable PPI for the first 6 months and he said I could go back to my omeprazole after that. So far I haven't had any problems!!

    Combo meals???

I've been having the same thing when I'm thinking about what to pull out of the freezer for dinner. I've been cooking the same amounts for our family for a long time and I forget that I really can't eat that much anymore. I'm sure that I'll get better at gauging the amounts I'm cooking soon.

When will food taste good again?

Except for ripe bananas, I am not allowed any FRESH fruits or vegetables until I am past 8 weeks. That has been the hardest thing for me, especially this time of year!

    2.5 weeks out and tired

I was the same way you are. I'm almost 5 weeks out now and feeling lots better although I still seem to tire easily. Just keep working on getting in all your water and protein and all of a sudden it will dawn on you how much better you are feeling!

    Body Temperature

I've been freezing the last couple of days so that makes me feel good. Haven't seen it on the scale but I'm hoping that works for me too.

How long do we drink protein for?

My doctor told me that after 8 weeks I should try to be getting my protein from my food not from shakes. I am so sick of protein shakes that I can't wait to get to that point.

Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon

My surgeon was Dr. Richard Fermelia and my surgery was done at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Wyoming. This entire process was awesome!! I got wonderful care from Dr. Fermelia's entire staff and the staff at CRMC was super also. I have absolutely no negative things to say at all.
