Banded no fill and can't stop eating
brenda62 replied to Carerjem's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Felictiy look at my weight loss and tell me I am doing this wrong. I have had my band long enough to know what I am doing. Everyone is different and requires different things. I am have hyperglycemia and eat a lot of Protein. I stay around 1000 cals a day. Dr all have different rules and you will find as you get further into your lap band journey the things that will work for you., keep a open mind and be willing to try new things. -
Banded no fill and can't stop eating

Thank you Annie, and you are right. We all have to find what works best for us and having hyperglycemia I eat more often and my weight loss proves it works for me. Have a great day -
Today I have had to lap band for six months. What a big change in me! I am down 113 pound with 31 left till goal. I have gone from a size 26 and am now starting to wear 12's. My feet are down a shoe size and width size. My rings have gone from an 11 to 8 1/2. Bra has gone from a 48DD to a 40DD. I have lost 86 inches and am off all my meds. I walk 5 miles a day 5 days a week, 3 miles 1 day a week and go to curves 5 days a week. I finally this week feel restriction but it did not happen after a fill and it is great. I had no problems with my lap band till I was filled from 8cc to 9cc (I have the 14cc band) that's when I learned what pb,sliming, and getting stuck meant! I had 1/2 a cc removed and am back to normal. I eat between 800-1000 cals a day, lots of Protein. I do though eat 5 to 6 times a day, it works for me and my body loves it. It keeps me from getting to hungry and eating the wrong thing. I do allow myself one treat a day and include it in my cal count. 100 cal nabisco snack, or laughing cow ice cream, it keeps me on track and not craving. When I do want to eat something bad I stop and ask myself it I really want to use my cals on this and if it is really worth it. Most the time the answer is no and I get over it fast! Most days I drink over 100 ounces of Water and I am the one who did not like to drink water! It just becomes a habit after a while. I know that with out my tool (lap band) I would not have made it this far and am so happy I did it. It is a lot of work and takes a lot of self control, discipline, and dedication to yourself and your health, but it can be done. Would love to hear how everyone else is doing......... Smiles Brenda

Great job Carerjem, feels wonderful doesn't it! I bought some old navy size 10 jeans yesterday and they fit, I am though happy to be a size 12. I am almost at goal and know the work has just begun. Kind of wondering how this maintenance is going to work.

LOL you are funny I have one of the best atittudes around. You do not understand what I was saying. By the way I eat every two hours because of hunger. Oh that's right you said I did not know what she was talking about.....hmmmmmmmmmm ok if you say so. By the way I do eat about every two hours, about 6 times a day. With the exercise I get I am hungry a lot and my body responds with good weight loss. I hope your attitude does improve and you come to understand what people are trying to say. Good luck on your journey. -
Doing great! Moving right along, I have 21 pounds left to go! I am a little worried thought, I go into the hospital for hernia surgery on the 9th for three days and do not won't to gain any weight. The Dr said I could start walking right away, but I am still worried about it.

It is not negativity, it is advice you are just taking it wrong. I lost weight during this stage because I used self control. The lap band is not a magic pill for weight loss, it takes a lot of work on our part to loose the weight. I to can still pretty much eat what I want, I just choose not to because I love watching the numbers on the scale go down! Good luck and I hope your attitude improves. -
I do not have a scale at home, I weight once a week at the gym. That way I do not see the ups and downs of the week and it is something I look forward to every week.

then size 26 now size 12 and still loosing! Ring size 11 to 8 shoe size 11 eee to a 10w bra 48 DDD to a 38DD

Your body is in the healing stage, give it time. How much water are you drinking (you need 64ounces at the least) How much exercise are you getting (walking is great at the beginning What are you eating and how much? Is your tom close? There are all kinds of factors at play here, let us know and we can help.

I go to curves five days a week and now walk there and back which is 2 miles. I use the scale at curves on Mondays, that way I do not get on one to often at home. Keep it up, it will get easier.

number 25 almost full!

I had mine removed about 10 years ago before I lost weight. I was eating healthy and had decided to have pizza with my kids and omg it hit. I am glad it happened so long ago so I do not have to deal with it now. I go in for hernia surgery on the 9th of November. Not looking forward to it because it is a three day hospital stay. It will though be nice to have the pain gone and be able to see my waist on the side of the hernia again! I continue to loose weight and exercise with mine though. The doctor told me I can walk right away, it just may hurt for a while. At two weeks I should be back at curves. I am 20 pounds from goal and am determined this is not going to slow me down. Good luck

losing weight too fast......leads to more surgery?
brenda62 replied to BigLW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing great, Your weight loss is what they want you to loose monthly, As for flabby skin, it depends on your skin type. I have some, but I knew I would and it just makes me work out harder. I does get less and I had a skinny friend show me even she has some flabby skin from having children. -
strange pain once a month
brenda62 replied to MelissaNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Frist off, you need to eat more than once a day. Your body needs the protein in order to loose good. I have swelling every month with pms. My band also gets tighter during this time put I know after a few days it will loosen back up. I would try a different bra, maybe without under-wire during this time and see if it helps. -
Breakfast ideas for someone who doesn't like eggs?

Greek yogurt with kashi go lean crisp in it! -
I have 8.5 in my band and am still hungry every two hours. Everyone is different and the band effects us all differently. I eat 6-8 mini meals a day and my body loves it! Good for you knowing when to stop. You are doing great!
-
If you can try to go longer then 5 minutes, the idea is to get your heart rate up. You could box for 5 minutes and then walk for 5 and then go back to boxing. I keep an idea in my head of how many cals I am taking in. Lately when I eat more (1200) I loose more! (I was doing between 800-1000) You have to find what works for you and stick to it.
