Finally Made It To Onderland
brenda62 replied to shakey88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! It is a wonderful feeling! It is all down hill from now! It is funny how happy that darn scale can make us, every middle number change now makes me dance! -
I have days I do not feel like exercising, but on those days I make myself go out and walk. I know myself, and if I did not make myself get out there I would back slide. In stead of napping get moving, sometimes you just have to do it!

How many CC is your Lap Band Filled until you're not hungry?
brenda62 replied to Carfigure's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 8.5cc in my 14 cc band, that said I eat every 2 to 3 hours because I am hungry. I do though eat small meals and am doing well. I walk 6 days a week and go to curves 5 days a week. Yes having the band is a lot of work, but it is so worth the effort you have to put into it. Having had my band for 8 months (4/4/11) I am down 132 with 12 pounds to go till goal. Work with it and it will work for you! -

No Weight Loss Since Lap Band Surgery (july 11)
brenda62 replied to Daelynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Make sure you are getting your water in, I use to hate water but now I crave water! Get rid of the bread also, it does help. I eat 6 times a day with lots of protein, not saying I eat prefect, but I follow the rules and it works. Also make sure you are getting enough cals in or are keeping it around 1200. Good luck! -

Hungry After Lap Band Surgery
brenda62 replied to Winter2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat every 2 to 2 1/2 hours due to hunger. I have 8.5 cc's in a 14 cc's band and really do not feel I need more.I do eat a lot of protein and drink all plus water. It is just how my body likes it and I do not go over my calories. We are all different and our bodies react different. Judge for yourself and set up your own plan. -
Hair Loss After Lap Band Surgery...is There A Way Around It?
brenda62 replied to hotpink7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 mths out and down127 pounds. I take my vitamins, get over my protein amount and have never had a issue with hair loss. I really do not think there is a magic way to keep it from happening -
You really need to make sure you are getting in all your protein everyday. I track my at myfitnesspal.com and always go over. I also take my multi vitamins and have never had an issue with hair loss. You might also contact your dr and see what he has to say.

another vote for more calorie intake! I did well with 800 for months and then when I hit the that dreaded standstill I moved up to 1200. I walk two miles 5 days a week and go to curves 5 days a week. on day 6 I walk 4-5 miles and the 7th is my day off! When I started feeding my body more it started responding and my metabolism speed up. I eat every 2-3 hours on a normal day (6 times a day) Good luck and keep it up with the water, I used to hate water and now I crave it!

Hey April Bandsters? Where are you at?!?
brenda62 replied to dFaults's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All you have to do Tyler is get moving! It will come off and you are doing great! I have worked hard to get where I am (down 127 with 17 pounds till goal) I had hernia surgery on the 9th and am moving slower right now, but I am getting out and walking. It drove up a wall to be in the hospital for 5 days, they finally let me go home because I was up walking all the time. I think the day before I went home me and my iv poll did 5 miles in the halls! Just so people know my hernia's had nothing to due with the lap band or lap band surgery. I had cancer 2 1/2 years ago and the hernia's were cause by the surgeries I had then. By intestines had come through them and needed to be repaired. Anyway lots of fun! I am still doing great with my lap band journey with little or no problems. I do not even remember when my last fill was! I know I have 8.5 cc's in my 14 cc band. would love to hear how everyone else is doing. smiles Brenda -
Some answers to Your most burning questions... How much will I lose with Lap Band?
brenda62 commented on ♥LovetheNewMe♥'s blog entry in LovetheNewMe's Blog
You got me to thinking, in another 7 pounds I will have lost 90 percent of the weight I need to lose! I have gone from 304 to 177. A normal bmi for me would be 152. I have lost like you by working with my lap band. Smiles Brenda -
Gasrtric Bypass after Gastric Banding???
brenda62 commented on LeeLee76's blog entry in LeeLee76's Blog
Lee this journey takes time and a lot of work on our parts. I have worked hard to get to where I am and know my work is paying off. Four months is not long at all, some bandsters take years to lose their weight. I all depends on how you use your tool. Give yourself time and follow the program. You can do it -
Almost 30 pounds and no size difference.
brenda62 replied to Kellysue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes when we have a large amount to lose, it takes a while to change sizes. Now that I am a 12 I can tell you at first It was 25-30 pounds to go down a size and now that I am smaller it seems to be 10 to 15. Don't worry about it, it will happen -
Just taking time to return all my mail! Best advice I can give is to follow the program. Drink your water, monitor your protein intake, and get your exercise in. I have not had bread, pasta, or rice since March and I can tell what my body used to do with it! Embrass your new life and put yourself first. Right now it is importan to concentrate on yourself and getting healthy. You can do it!

I buy the organic salad in the container with the lid on it. I have no problems with it going bad.

2 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery And A Margarita???
brenda62 replied to Kellysue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Stay away from the alcohol, you got the lap band to lose weight and need to follow the program. If you sabotage yourself this early how will the rest of your journey go. I agree with the above post, I would rather use my calories to eat then drink. Good luck -
There are a lot of things to consider when you ask why? You have to remember your body is in the healing stage and needs and that can take time. Are you getting out and exercising? How much water are you drinking? How much protein are you getting? How many calories are you getting in a day? Your tom will also effect weight loss. I could go on but I am sure you get the idea. Don't be hard on yourself it will happen

The temptation will always be there, but next time you want to buy something ask your self if it will taste as good as loosing weight feels. Thats how I do it and I walk away from it. I do have skinny cow ice cream every night which seems to keep the cravings away.

brenda62 replied to iwanttheband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded April 4, and have lost 124 pounds! I am 21 pounds from goal. I do exercise 6 days a week and eat healthy, but it is work and not easy. But like I have heard before nothing tastes as good as wearing that smaller size! -
Advice or Suggestion .. please
brenda62 replied to Amanda Mae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work with the public, and I do get asked how I have lost weight a lot. I tell them I exercise a lot, eat healthy small meals and drink lots of water. All true and those that are close to me know about the lap band, but everyone else it is on a need to know. -
Yes! I use to hate water and now I drink way beyond the required amount. I keep it with me all the time. It will become a habit and your body will crave it. good luck
