I eat small amounts every 2-3 hours. It has worked great for me, you have to do what feels right for your body and your band. Also make sure you are getting lots of protein first when you eat. It keeps you from getting hungry longer. Good luck

Tulip don't eat until you are full, only till you are satisfied. I have never been able to eat that much with my band and have done wonderful. It is hard to learn to stop and know you are satisfied but you can do it. I now stop and dump my food in the disposal so I don't keep eating! Tryna just because you can eat that six inch sub doesn't mean you should. That is a lot to put in your pouch, I do not do bread or potatoes at all. If you have to go to subway get a salad or just eat the inside of the sub. We all got the band for a reason so lets use our tool the way we should. Good luck

a tostada, is not a good choice. Try soft food first, yogurt, soups etc.

Recovery..how Long Until I Can Go Back To Work After Lap Band Surgery ?
brenda62 replied to goofycathy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went back on day 4. I am a grocery checker and just did not lift heavy things. I was sure tired at the end of my shift and slept good that first week back. That being said I think it depends on the person and how well you handle the surgery. Some need more time then others, I have always been one to bounce back quickly. Good luck -
Second Guessing Lap Band Surgery...need Support...
brenda62 replied to Lovemythreems's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I eat what ever I want! I choose not to eat bread and pasta and have no problems. The only time I had trouble with pbing was the two weeks I was to tight. Any other time I have gotten that stuck feeling it is because I did not chew my food well enough. Your life will go on like normal, you just take a little more time to eat. -
Stress Causing Lap Band Restriction And Getting Stuck?
brenda62 replied to Secret Bandit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Beth. That is exactly how I start my day. Hot drinks help open up your band and yogurt is my favorite breakfast! -
Eat more! I eat between 1000-1200 a day. You are on the low side, and remember it is not about feeling full it is about being satisfied

Try walking outside, even in the cold it is well worth it. Once you get half way done with your walk you will have to keep going to get home again! Thats how I started and now my walk is up hill 3/4 of the way and does not even bother me. I started out at 304 and very out of shape. You can do this.......

Great Job, keep it up and welcome to this site there is a lot of good information and support on the site. -
I was worried about salads at first, but once I ate one I knew it would be fine. You will find though that if you eat the protein in the salad first you do not have much room left for the lettuce

Love your post! I had the toppings off a piece of pizza with my family the other night and my Bandolina told a couple of my other organs to teach me a lesson. All I can say is lesson learned!

could it be that you are trying to eat to much? listen to your body and eat slowly, your band will let you know when you are full. Also knowing the difference between wanting more and being satisfied is another big one. It has took me a good six months to realize "hey I do not need to finish this, I am satisfied!" Good luck

Sounds like you are using stress as an excuse to eat what you know you should not. Start keeping healthy things with you so when you want to stress eat you can turn to them. Keep a protein bar in your bag, it is easy to take out and eat and you will be happier with yourself.

I have lost 92% of the weight I need to lose, so those doctors are not always right! Those last few pounds do move a lot slower, but I am happy where I am at and will get those last few off by our one year! Anyone having trouble, don't give up just keep plugging along and it will happen. Smiles Brenda

Bigger Appitite, Do I Need A Fill
brenda62 replied to dramastarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told as you lose weight you also lose the fat pad around your stomach which is why your band loosens and you can eat more. Sounds like it is time for a fill. Good luck -
Some people can handle bread without a problem. I make the choice not to eat the above mentioned. Those items are my down fall and I do not want to get back into old habits. I did try a bite of banana bread one day and it sat like a lump on my band. I have heard if you toast your bread very well it is easier to handle.
